There was no good option here.

It’s simple. Y’all saying she’s selfish and a coward but

PINK DIAMOND HAD NO CHOICE. 

Let us review her options, and their outcomes :

Option A : Pink Diamond does nothing to stop the colonisation.

Outcome : The colony is completed. Everything on Earth dies.

Option B : Pink Diamond asks the Diamonds to stop the colonisation, peacefully.

Outcome : Diamonds : Don’t care, didn’t read lol.

Option C : Pink Diamond tells her subjects to stop (probably happened, so it’s almost the same as Option B)

Outcome : Diamonds : What are you doing ? Ok, you’re just lazy and childish. Give me back that colony. 

Pink loses her colony and a lot of her power as a Diamond.

Option D : Pink Diamond leads an official war on her older sisters.

Outcome : Diamonds : What are you doing ? Are you serious right now ? Ok, it’s not funny anymore. You, the youngest, weakest Diamond, our little sister, is rebelling against the Diamond Authority after all we gave to you ? 

The war is lost by Pink (smaller army, one incomplete colony against several), all of her army is wiped, corrupted or shattered. Actually, not only her army but also her subjects : Lapis Lazulis, Pearls, Peridots, all of her subjects are wiped and she loses everything. Earth becomes a colony.

Option E : Pink Diamond leads a secret rebellion to have another excuse to stop the colony. Her subjects has the choice to rejoin the rebellion and be free or to go back to Homeworld.

Outcome : Diamonds : The rebellion will be destroyed. Keep going.

Option F : Pink Diamond fakes her death because Blue tells her the colonisation won’t stop as long as she’s here to lead.

Outcome : Earth is left alone, her subjects are either free or alive in Homeworld. That’s what she thought would happen. But we all know what actually happened : Earth was left alone, but the rebellion got corrupted. A large part of her subjects were saved thanks to this sacrifice, because they were siding with the Diamonds, thinking they were siding with Pink. Her soldiers, her court, all of her subjects actually had the choice to be part of the rebellion or to go back to Homeworld. She saved them, when an official war would have get them all killed or corrupted.

Again, tell me what she could have done more ? 

Let Earth die ? Lead everyone into a lost war ? There was not other possibilities. The one she chose was not perfect, but between all of them, it was the only one that was less terrible. 

Yes, Pink was childish. But it’s also what gave her the possibility to see what Earth was, beyond a planet to make a colony. She fell for Earth and she took the best choice for Earth and her subjects : save or free them.

watercolor tips and tricks

some tips and tricks that have seriously helped me in excelling at watercolour

1. PAPER WEIGHT. for the love of god do not use any paper under 110-120 lbs to paint with watercolour, a very VERY wet medium that will soak clean through the paper if it’s not thick enough (most paper pads sold at craft stores have the weight listed on them. printer paper is around 20 lbs, sketch pads will be about 60 lbs, IDEAL watercolour paper 140 lbs+). i use only 140 lb paper for my serious watercolour works. canson and strathmore are my favourite brands

2. there’s no need to have very expensive watercolour paints, but it is important to use something better than crayola. my dad gave me a 24-pan windsor&newton watercolour set when i was 8 and these are still the paints i use today (i was a very careful child, but i never even had to replace my paint pans after almost 10 years either, so this brand, while super expensive, lasts and earns my gold star.) some other cheaper options are: x and x

3. if you’re going to be using watercolours, prepare to use WATER. so many people forget this, but it’s so important to realise this media is meant to look translucent, so you should see the paper through the paint. if you can’t see it, then you’re using the paints as if they’re gouache or acrylics, so try using more water and work with lighter colours.

OKAY NOW FOR THE ACTUAL TRICKS

4. SALT

quite overused in watercolour but it’s so freaking cool it can be pardoned. *remember for all of these effects, you have to use lots of water with the paint for it to work!

5. ALCOHOL/VODKA/HAND SANITIZER IF YOU’RE LAZY LIKE ME

you have to be very careful here because the second image can turn into the first if you use too much alcohol and it soaks through the water and paint gets in the spot, so be sure to experiment plenty before using this!!

but yeah you can use whatever clear alcohol you can find and it does p much the same thing

6. LIGHT SKIN TONES

okay while the darker skin tones are more easily achievable with browns and additional yellows/blues/reds to bring out the undertone, light skintones are hard as hell to make with watercolour because it’s hard to even think of what to mix. think no more!

YELLOW OCHRE + ANY PURPLE = perfect skintone you can play around with. adding more of yellow or purple will give you either cool or warm skin tones you can build up on and layer until they’re the proper value. remember to use purple/cool shadows with skin in compositions with normal lighting!

7. PAYNE’S GREY

and finally to repeat my previous post, use PAYNE’S GREY instead of black for a richer, darker colour in your painting. don’t use black unless your entire composition has warm colours, but even then, try to use a very dark brown instead of black.

8. WHITE

finally, it’s very important to mention this: never use the white watercolour they sometimes give you. EVER. EVER. dilute your paint with water instead to get a lighter value, or else you’re not using watercolour to its full extent (which is something you might struggle with if you’re used to using acrylics or oil)

My personal prerelease predictions are as follows:

Saihara Shuuichi is evil and the first chapter’s killer. Kaede is going to lie for him and defend him and she nearly fucks everyone over because of it. His victim is Amami Rantarou because he learned too much about him and realized his true intentions. If he isn’t the first chapter’s killer, he’s the traitor/mastermind and he shouldn’t be trusted. Something is totally up with this guy, and not in a good way. To further elaborate on this, look at Amami and Shuuichi’s designs alone. By themselves, Shuuichi appears to be the “evil” one, and it is only because of Amami’s resemblance to Komaeda that people think Amami will be crazy. The game won’t go in the same direction again with a crazed hope fanatic and a detective as our faithful partner. The ship is being set up to be broken.

Everyone is blackened and had their memories erased. They were gathered from all over the country by the government because they escaped their own killing games by being the culprits. They killed someone, got away with the murder, and everyone else in their games was executed for their escape. The government has locked them up together but Monokuma fucks things up and takes over. 

Nobody but Amami has a talent and everyone was given artificial memories to believe they had a talent. These talents are their past childhood dreams that were somehow broken, either with Iruma being unable to invent enough to be the SHSL Inventor, Kaito never becoming a real astronaut, Ryoma having his tennis career broken because of his crimes, etc. It isn’t that they have no talent at all, but that they never became the best at what they did. 

The vine/spiderweb execution is Korekiyo Shinguuji’s execution. The flamethrower bit is not part of it. It will be in a setting representing hell and his crime will have something to do with selfishness and seeing “beauty in hell”. His crime will have something to do with Gonta or Kirumi (but I sway towards Gonta). 

The boo'ing execution is Kokichi Ouma’s execution. The people are a crowd overthrowing their dictator. (Could also be Himiko’s, but I think she’ll be a survivor.) 

Angie Yonaga will kill Tsumugi and use her artistic talents to “fake” a cosplay on her corpse. Most people will assume that Tsumugi put on the cosplay herself, but Angie painted it onto her to confuse everyone.

Amami Rantarou is the first victim. As much as I hate to say this since I love Amami, it seems fairly likely. He’s the SHSL Analyst.

Ryoma Hoshi is a victim. I suppose he’ll have a tragic backstory as to why he had to kill those mafia members, and then he’ll show up dead.
