At least two major artists (Lady Gaga and Chappell Roan) making a point to vocally support trans people the Grammys is a big deal in this political climate.
The older you get the more you will realize that your friends are people who have made mistakes and bad decisions and even just fucked up and hurt people.
And obviously your boundaries with your friends are completely up to you but you do need to recognize that if you cut off everyone who has done something wrong, you’re going to end up with no friends (and you yourself will have also fucked up in your life, and not lived up to those impossible standards either).
I’ve found it’s much more constructive to learn how to say “hey dude, that was massively fucked up of you,” because most people are really willing to say “yeah, it was, I need to work on it/not do it again/apologize and make things right” ESPECIALLY if they are hearing it from you as their friend.
Look man, I don't know. There are a lot of fascist fuckwits trying their best to ruin everything for everyone right now. There have often been a lot of fascist fuckwits trying to ruin everything for everyone. Not to downplay the pain and trauma we're all feeling at having to struggle through this particular go-round when the future looks especially dark, but it's not exactly a new thing in human history. Alas.
There are still many, many people telling the fascist fuckwits to eat shit. There are still long green spring evenings and slow golden summer afternoons and winter nights and autumn leaves. There are still coffee shops and weird little bookstores and small businesses on sidewalks lined with flowered trees. There are still sunrises and sunsets and blue skies and ocean shores and mountains. Oh yes, there are still mountains, which I have an especial fondness for. High up there in thin air, you can see forever.
There are still Gay People In Your Phone and texts and in-jokes. There are your blorbos. There is still fic and fanart. There are still books and music and games and art. There is a lot of art. Even with the AI beast trying to gobble and commercialize everything, there's still art! There are still people who think using your own brain to do things is important! There are still universities and publishing houses and other places where it's our job to think about things that matter!
There is still work that feels fulfilling to do. There are still constant little moments of quiet and beauty and rest. There are still jaw-dropping pictures of nebulae and galaxies and the great immensity of space, as we continue to learn things we never knew before. And amid all those stars, there is still a tiny, beautiful, and vulnerable blue planet which we only get to live on for a very short time, and there are still kids who are counting on us to make sure they get to inherit it in some kind of recognizable form. There is still the weird fact that when you give someone a hug and sit with them for a while and tell them over and over that it will be okay, it actually feels like it might be okay. I think that all means something.
Doomerism is really easy right now. I get it. I honestly 100% do. But I also don't see any point whatsoever in throwing up our hands and letting said fascist fuckwits gleefully terrify us into submission and make us live in fear and act like they're the Actual Meaning of the World (they are not). They suck so incredibly hard, but they're also so small and so stupid and so ultimately insignificant. They will not define this particular moment if we don't let them, and if we stick around to make sure they don't. Fuck 'em. I believe in you.
Courage, etc.

I made this comic for the literature festival ‘Québec en toutes lettres'. If you are in la ville de Québec, I believe you can find this comic displayed on a large panel or as a free postcard in these cute vending machines they’ve set up around the downtown. I don’t actually have proof of either, so if you are in Québec and you see my comic in the wild, please send me a photo!
The theme of this year’s festival is ‘climbing the light’ based on a line of poetry from Jean-Paul Daoust. My comic is a pretty abstract take on that. I was thinking about how great art can inspire people all over the world to create art, and how that art can then inspire future artists and so on, making this unending giving-and-receiving of light through our history. I was also thinking about birds (as I do sometimes), and how they do a similar thing with their songs.
The bird I’ve painted here is an Eastern Whip-poor-will, a night singer.

just wanted to share the National Down Syndrome Society’s message for this year’s World Down Syndrome Day (21st March) 💛💙
Oh, I 100% understand your point and yeah, god, stans are annoying. I don't like stans even of my favorite characters. Lucifer is one of my favorite Hazbin characters and I guess I've been lucky to mostly only run into decent fans, because I haven't really seen anyone blaming others for Lucifer's problems, but I totally believe you that they exist, because I've seen posts from people complaining about stans like that. And I can definitely understand how sometimes a fandom can cause a negative view of a character even if you were okay/neutral with them before. I had this with Adam, I liked his character, although I felt neutral towards him for the most part, he's cool, but I'm not really a fan and everything was fine until I came across his absolutely annoying part of the fandom, which were mostly stans, I wouldn't say I started hating Adam, but I did dislike him for a while, luckily it went away after I realized that it was just stans putting characters on a pedestal and putting everyone else down.
I know that probably not many people will share this opinion but i am kind of afraid that Lucifer will live in the hotel and become part of the main cast
It is not because i dislike him or anything but i fear that him staying in hotel will only cause that he overshadows other characters especially female characters like Charlie
Like he only was in two episodes but the fandoms already acts sometimes like he is the main character. I like Charlie, she is one of my favorite characters but I feel like she get both in the show and fandom shoved in the background for often male characters like Alastor and i don't want her to become a secondary character in her own show
I want Charlie to be the one who takes the lead and fights for her hotel without complety depending on her father, i already wasn't the biggest fan of Lucifer appearing out of nowhere in the final to save Charlie from Adam despite it making I guess technically sense.
Charlie is already unterrated in her own show more than enough and I fear Lucifer living in the hotel will make it even worse. I just hope he will stay more on the side lines and support Charlie without it becoming his hotel
