Okay so ORIGINALLY… BOTH Adrien and Marinette were going to be Akumatised,,,,, and then I couldn’t think of a way for it to kind of resolve itself without it also being a “Hawkmoth goes down” comic, which means it’d be a “Adrien finds out Hawkmoth is Gabriel” comic, and DUDE that is too much.
So, I hope you like Akumanette!
ALso yeah I did just trace a picture of hawkmoth in that last frame gimME A BREAK

thinkin about my two hundred different embarrassing and completely self-indulgent daydream universes that i’ve actually taken time out of my day to create content for and have never shared with anyone bc they’re that embarrassing but not being able to stop bc they’re one of the few things that bring me genuine joy
I am disappointed. I am disappointed in Disney Channel for not only censoring Girl Meets World from its full potential but also for cancelling it before its last season. I am disappointed in all of the venues that didn’t see the potential in taking over Girl Meets World and creating a show even better than it originally was.
However, I am not disappointed in the fandom. We fought for months, and for those first ten days, it was amazing to see the entire fandom come together even though we usually fight over trivial things such as our ships.
I will never forget this show–just like how I will never forget Boy Meets World. It ended too soon, but I’ll never regret the ship wars, the endless rants, the cries, or the laughter. It was beautiful, but all good things must come to an end.
Listen I know I am hardcore on that HSMTMTS bullshit and I promise if you follow me for the multitude of other shows I talk about/write about I will get back to them. But before that happens…
I’m seeing a lot of negative feedback regarding how “bad” some of the actual production of HSM was (as in, the show within the show).
All I can say is…that’s the point? The point is to make this show (as in HSMTMTS) as realistic as possible.
Which is meta in it’s own right, isn’t it? The kids in the HSM FILM were all so unnaturally good at singing/dancing? Like Chad had a whole song about how he doesn’t dance while he was doing freaking pirouettes and backflips on the baseball field. Come on.
But an entire cast is not going to be like that in a normal, real world public school. Even “East High.” Those kids are just like anybody else; some of them are good, some of them are not so good, but all of them are trying their best.
And again, that’s the point.
The scene with Ricky and EJ as Chad/Troy in the hallway talking/walking? Do you really think that was supposed to be anything other than awkward? Do you remember the rehearsal for “Start Of Something New?” Or how Ricky can’t really dance that well, or how EJ’s voice breaks sometimes, or Nini’s subpar acting/getting thrown off by things that alter the production?
That’s high school theatre!
Federle was concerned the dancing in the show was TOO good! He didn’t want it to look like a professional production (but the dancers they hired were so awesome and the choreographer was so talented he decided he had to keep it).
If the argument is that Gina and EJ deserved the lead-they explained that. Ms. Jenn cast Nini and Ricky as leads because of the emotional connection to the material. Her gut said to go with the underdogs, because there was something between them she felt read like Troy/Gabriella. It happens in life, because it happened with my senior musical–the director cast kids in leading roles who had NEVER performed before, because he felt they embodied the character they auditioned for so well.
It worked for my high school theatre director and it worked for Ms. Jenn. She was completely on point, because Ricky and Nini legitimately recreated the “Breaking Free” scene in real time during opening night.
Again, the META of it all!
This show is incredibly high concept and while I know not every viewer is going to pick up on all these small moments and decisions and appreciate them like I do, I just hate to see this blind hate without really thinking a little bit more critically about what a piece of art or entertainment is trying to tell you.
(We all in agreement no one should be getting into that performing arts program, though…besides maybe Seb)
Y’all heard of the love square, what about the relationship clusterfrick that is Chloe?
Thinking about her (a show that was cancelled unjustly) again

Are there Adrien Salt takes that you agree with?
I mean, the thing about salt that I inherently disagree with is how it often equates "a character making a mistake / doing something 'bad' " to "a bad character / poor writing / a bad person".
Like, I could sit here and list out all the mistakes that Adrien has made, but that doesn't mean I agree with the salt interpretation of those mistakes. I kind of equate "[character] salt" in the fandom at this point with "bad faith criticism of the character", and no, I don't have any 'bad faith' criticisms of Adrien.
I think at the end of the day, Adrien and Marinette are both flawed characters who have done things I disagree with, but those flaws and decisions are what make them compelling characters. And even when I don't agree with their choices, I always understand why they made them (and it's almost always either some kind of trauma response or a misguided attempt to do good), and that's why I love them.
They're just kids, they're genuinely trying their best, and they're going to make some interesting mistakes along the way. I don't personally see any point in fixating on those mistakes. That's just not how I enjoy the show.
( also, please no one add salt to this post. just wanted to answer the question and honestly I'd prefer to stay sodium-free. make your own post if you must. )
