Out Of The Hospital

I’m one of those people who communicates better this way than face-to-face. It’s not that I’m a cowardly lion; it’s that I’m a perfectionist, and some decisions are too big to rush. And then things happen in life that remind me of how short life is, and so I feel like I should leap to another circle. Old and reliable is the comfortable choice. There’s nothing more important than family, so choosing to create a new family seems like the one thing in life you never should rush. But, it’s good to let seamstresses know that the suit is nearly tailored.

My mother still doesn’t believe you even exist. She says it’s impossible. … If I can get a stamp, I’ll mail another card today. If not, I’ll try and mail it tomorrow.

If anyone ever wonders why it takes dreamers so long to carry out their dreams, you need to look only at the lonely hearts who have to overcome the objections of their own mother. I thank God that my brother had enough faith to die for me.

Where Did I Go?

Greetings and salutations

Good old-fashioned letters and greeting cards were keeping me company during the quarantine, pero ahora dije me que no puedo to send them because they might have coronavirus. So I just sit in the den and try to hold my breath. I refuse to give up my dark sense of humor, lest I become a dreaded Heather!

Videos

I don’t plan to post them yet because my brother is the one who likes to be the center of attention (he’d say otherwise), but some of my videos are of things other than my cat sleeping, although that’s what is usually happening at my house. And lately I’ve been finding random old photos.

And I caved in and agreed to FaceTime. It’s hard to say no to my nieces, especially when they have a new kitten. She’ll probably make an appearance on my Facebook page.

Chess

I played my extremely intelligent niece in chess last year. I went in thinking, “OK, this will be humbling.” So I figured I’d play it cool and try to beat her, as she had actually taken lessons, but about four moves in I realized that I was already the baby stuck in the corner. So, no, Sybil, we know you’re the smartest! And while I may agree to play chess with you again in the future, just know that I know that my heart’s only in the things where I know I can win at the end. ;)

Since the last time I wrote to you, dear Lizzie, I have remembered new things and am learning new things. I have old video relevant to this case, but I have no working cassette player, so I’m making NEW TIME while I read about this -- https://law.justia.com/cases/virginia/supreme-court/1986/830529-1.html -- and listen to sports and fantasy baseball. ;0
