Ever wondered how Crosshair got his name?
polish government has opened a website for ukrainians seeking safety and trying to cross the ukrainian-polish border:
ua.gov.pl
as of 13:10 polish time, it has been said as many people as possible will be let through the borders. they are also supposed to let through children who do not have passports, as to not divide families.
Me, writing a couple chapters so I can be on top of my updating schedule: this is good
The gremlin living on my shoulder: you should post them now, post them right now, the people need to read them right this second, post them, don't wait, the schedule is a lie, post the chapt-
saying “i want him” about the character but not in a romantic or sexual way . i just Require him i need to Obtain him
It's a valid fear, but I think the benefits outweigh the possibility of that happening. Reading books from the genre/s you want to write is an excellent way to learn the rules etc of the genre, so then it'll be easier to follow or subvert readers' expectations. Plus, even if you are heavily influenced by others' work, I believe it will evolve and become more original as you go.
I want to read other books in the genre(s) I'm writing in, but I'm also afraid that if I do, those books will end up influencing my own writing too much, and I'll end up writing something that's effectively a copy of something else. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is my fear well-founded?
