Watching both Grian and Joel this season of Hermitcraft is such a funny contrast, because on one side we have Grian, who’s decided to take it slow this time with the building and such, and on the other we have Joel, who builds a freaking skyscraper nearly every episode. Oh, and then I watch Pearl, who claims to only be learning redstone and not being good at it and proceeding to create Wordle.

More on the Life!Scott is so Hunt aligned: Joel isn’t Hunt aligned (he’s Slaughter) but he keeps getting forced into the role of hunter because he wants to kill Scott and Scott won’t face him in a straight up fight more often then not. Also the Hunt is both predator and prey. Joel tends to refuse to make himself prey, he doesn’t usually run, he starts hitting back.

TLDR: Joel’s Slaughter who keeps getting forced into a chase he isn’t suited to because he really wants to kill Scott

Doomed not by the narrative, but their own nature. In fact the narrative is trying to save them from each other, but they are too stubborn to listen to it

They will destroy and ruin each other, they are both aware, but they can’t help it. Destruction is in their nature and they crave it like nothing else, no matter the cost and consequences. The universe always tries to make them enemies because it knows they are too strong and unstable as allies and it fails every time

Gem and Joel as Tweedledee and Tweedledum !

I love the idea that Joel & Gem are both some kind of shapeshifter. Where the only difference between them is that Gem has a much more consistent appearance, so not many people even know she’s a shapeshifter.

But Joel constantly changes up everything from his species to his height on the regular so everybody knows and is tired of him telling them.

It's my personal head canon that when Moon and Sun were talking about being slightly scared of Solar, Moon was remembering all the more intimidating things Solar has done, kill the creator, his blow up at Miku, just his general vibe etc etc. Sun was thinking about the time he turned him into a dragon and furry. That's the wrath he was talking about.
