I've noticed that a lot of people are doing whatever they can to not acknowledge that Toyin was murdered by a Black man. That she was the victim of Black men throughout her life.
But we need to acknowledge that sexist violence is real. That many people who support Black men or are even anti-police brutality more broadly still will casually abuse, assault, and even murder Black women.
Black women are under attack within our own community. Just as women of all races are under attack by the men in their communities.
But if BLM as a social movement is going to work out we need to hold our community to a higher standard and actively address, call out, and correct the violence Black men impart on Black women.
That starts with naming the problem. And "good" Black men need to take the most active part in addressing the problem because it's their acquaintances, their brothers, friends, cousins, etc who are friendly and in solidarity with them all while they abuse every Black woman around them other than their momma who are the problem.

whats wrong with me
It should be mandatory that a man take time to discover you, before being allowed to engage with you intimately. If not, then what could the experience possibly be for you? How could he be expected to please you, instead of use you as an object for his lust, when he has no understanding, on any level, of your desires; what attracts you, what inflames you, what makes you orgasmic; how you like to be touched, stroked, grabbed, talked to; when he doesn’t even know the first layer of your depth? Don’t get mad at the women who demand payment for their bodies, for their time, for their energy; because when a man doesn’t care to know a woman, or to explore the feminine in an engaged way, then what else could he possibly have to offer?
I don’t trust men who glorify ‘low maintenance’ women who ‘don’t ask for much’. You just want someone you can put in as little effort as possible for, who will be excited over the tinest bare minimum things you do for her because she doesn’t know any better and doesn’t value herself enough
