the great thing about medieval literature is that it returns us to a time when men were men and women were women, *insert gritty realism gif here*, featuring such important and eternal gendered characteristics such as

Damn I love this!
I can imagine older Arthur just being everything that his young self secretly wanted and needed, a supportive parent, a wise advisor, a role model.
Older Arthur would say things that would totally disarm young Arthur at first like, "you're doing the right thing," "I'm with you every step of the way" and "you look just like your mother."
In strategy meetings he'd use his experience saying, "the ground is too steep here," "you're vulnerable to ambush there," "never, and I repeat, never go near Camlann."
While he might have to step aside to let his young self learn those valuable lessons that were hard-earned, he might spare him from others, slowly helping him to realise the consequences of keeping up his father's war against magic (revenge, the death of innocents).
When young Arthur realises who this uncle really was, it helps him love and trust himself.
Meanwhile Merlin is relieved because the guilty crush he had on Arthur's uncle is in fact a not-so-guilty crush on the man he's in love with.
Golden Age King Arthur accidentally gets sent back in time to the beginning of his reign. While making his way to Camelot hoping to find Merlin and figure out how to get back to his own time he runs into Agravaine making his own way to Camelot for the first time. Knowing he was a traitor working for Morgana in his own timeline, Arthur kills him and decides to take his place. No one had seen Agravaine since Ygraine's death, there were no portraits of him in the castle, and Arthur's premature greying hair has to be good for something other than Merlin calling him a silver fox. He can pass as his own uncle and be the caring advisor that young him deserved damn it!
I was today years old when I realised that Kanen, the main villain in Moment of Truth whose terrorising Merlin’s hometown Ealdor is Alexander Sidding aka Dr. Julian Bashir from Star Trek Deep Space 9.
Now I wonder if there are fanfics of Dr. Bashir and Chief O’Brien in a simulation of King Arthur and Wizard Merlin that’s basically the Episode of the Moment of Truth.
Or one of these Time Travel episodes where they accidentally end up in the past and change something they have to fix so Bashir has to pose as Kanen and at the end they are like ???THAT was Prince ARTHUR??? AND MERLIN WAS A HOT YOUNG REAL WIZARD???
For Aithusa doodles, may I suggest Aithusa with her head stuck in a doughnut, or tangled up in a curtain she was hiding behind, or maybe trying to drag Excalibur off even though it's much bigger than her?
She’s so so helpful!!! (x)
@camlannpod has already become very special to me! Go listen to it!
man older generations just dont get how hard it is to get a job these days
youre trying to find entry levels jobs but they all require at least four years of knighthood or a lordship, the listings are only ever things like "stable cleaner, $7/hr" or "king of the realm, $120k annual, REQUIRED: sword from the lady of the lake"
ok you found a posting youre qualified for. now list list all of your conquests and all your chivalric values on your resume and then add your resume as a pdf and now also rewrite them in the boxes that auto populated and fix the formatting
and you cant tell older generations all of that because theyll just tell you about how they got their job by walking into a royal court and swearing fealty to the first king they saw and being granted a knighthood on the spot. literally if you try to do that these days the archers on the castle turrets will get you before the rattling of your armor is even within earshot
"just get a job with sir arthur"
gimme a break
