As a Deaf person, I appreciate this personโs want to offer some form of representation of the Deaf community despite them being hearing themself. However, I donโt believe itโs correct to do so without having the most basic knowledge on the language we use to communicate. Itโs easy to know when the author doesnโt know anything about the culture theyโre trying to write. Like OP mentioned, itโs not to be fluent in sign language, but itโd be nice to actually delve into your character enough that you learn a little bit. Otherwise, this lack of investment makes the Deaf reader feel very used and/or like you didnโt really bother getting to know us as a community to begin with โ a feeling we know all too well. Weโre so much more than what people think, I guarantee youโll be surprised.
Something I think could be helpful is to ask yourself why you want to write a Deaf character?
Anyway, I wish you and anyone else who wants to write Deaf characters well.
I have a question, if it's not too much of a bother. I'm a hearing writer who describes tones and voices more than anything, maybe. I have a character who is deafened near the end of my story and learns sign language to communicate. I've read posts saying that instead of describing a loud voice, for example, I should talk about exaggerated movements in sign. Now, I don't understand sign (the particular character learns BSL). How do I do the description anyway? Thanks, Luna ๐
Hi! I answered this ages ago but Tumblr is a piece of shit and didnโt upload the answerย (โขห _ หโข) But anyhow, take two:ย
Donโt worry about the description until youโre ready to edit your manuscript over with a fine tooth comb, or youโll never get anything written. Being a hearing writer, youโll be used to sounds, and thatโs okay! Iโll come back to the actual craft in a moment, but before I do, your ask has a few points in that Iโd like to address.ย
Firstly, make sure you understand at least some sign. Iโm not saying that you need to learn to speak the language fluently or anything, but it would be awesome if you could do some research into the basics such as grammar and facial punctuation. Once youโve got those straight in your head, it ought to be easier to describe the signed dialogue in a more natural way.ย
Secondly, I highly doubt your character is 100% Deaf. That is incredibly rare. Itโs more likely that your character will have a limited amount of residual hearingโie, they can hear noises that are low-pitched and high-volume, but the sound isย โmurkyโ or unclear. So while some background sounds could filter through to them, others wouldnโt even register. Whether they can hear human speech or not depends on the levels of hearing loss. (I talk a bit about the levels of Deafness in this post; you should do some further research yourself)
As for the craft itself, hereโs the method I use for editing:ย
Find all of the instances where youโve described a sound and highlight them (either by hand or with something like Wordโs highlighter tool)
You could also use the Find or Search tool to hunt down any sound descriptors by searching for hearing buzzwords like heard, sound, loud, quiet, noise etc
Some of these descriptions wonโt even be necessary, which is a normal part of editing whether youโre writing a Deaf character or not
But once youโve found the necessary descriptors, see if there is something that they can be replaced with
For example, instead ofย โThe leaves on the trees whispered in the windโ you could write about the source of the sound:ย โShe could see the tree branches shiver in the rising wind out of the corner of her eye.โย
Or maybe focus on another senseโthere are four left, after all!
Sight, taste, smell and touch will all be compensating for the lack of sound. Use them.ย
Itโll take some re-training, but youโll get there eventually. Practise and experimenting is key
And for dialogue, here is a list of what youโll want to be taking note of:ย
facial expressions
body language
proxemics (ie, does one character move nearer to the other or away?)ย
tics or non-sign actions (fiddling with clothes, tugging hair, shifting weight from foot to foot etc)
Hope this helps!

Hi green! Since you've left me some lovely requests, I thought I'd leave you one! I'm in love with the friends to love trope, so if you could do something like that with Felix, I'd eat it up. I'm thinking of something like the reader (gn please) has a really hard day and decides to go to Felix, but then it starts raining, so when Felix opens the door, reader is soaking wet and distressed. You can do anything from there! Again, I love your writing, so anything you come up with will be undoubtedly amazing. Hope you're doing well! <3
everything is you.

pairing: felix x gender neutral reader
content warnings: hurt/comfort, mentions of parental abandonment years prior, mentions of recent death of a parent, smoking weed, daddy issues
rating: 13+
summary: through every single hardship you'd ever endured, felix always waited for you, ready to bring you into the safety of his embrace. so when you're stuck amidst the complicated emotions following your father's recent passing, the first and only person you sought for comfort was your best friend.
Echoes of the youth youโd spent in this house haunted the eerie hallways of this vacant home. Every inch of this familiar place has remained the same, though you certainly havenโt. Sitting on the front porch floor, a joint youโd just rolled burning between your fingers as you watch the rain pour outside, a vacant expression on your face as you decided on what to do. The initial plan was to walk towards your best friendโs house, which was a short walk away but the sky seemed to have other plans. And so you remained there, stuck sitting beside a box full of letters addressed to you, but that had never been sent โ all written by your father.ย
Too many times you had driven past him on your way to visit your best friend, making the point to keep your eyes on the road in case your father sat out front like he sometimes tended to do. The two of you had never been on good terms, especially since your mother left when you were a teenager to chase another man whoโd made empty promises to her, and your father didnโt know the first thing about caring about another human being. It wasnโt a surprise to anybody when you left without a word the very minute you were old enough to do so and never returned. And yet, here you were, years since youโd gone โ a box of letters heโd written to you though never sent, and you knew you didnโt have the nerve to open them alone.ย
An exasperated sigh escaped your lips, pulling your phone out of the back pocket of your jeans for what was possibly the millionth time only to be met by the same symbol of no signal available for you to message Felix, the aforementioned best friend โ the boy youโve known since you could barely form a sentence due to living so close to each other. He was the kind of guy who would smile a little bit wider whenever his eyes landed on you, the one to allow you to lash out when you were angry despite how sensitive he was because he wanted you to feel better, the one to remember your birthday and plan something intimate and special even if nobody else bothered, the one to pay attention to the little things you would mention in passing and always remember โ he was very much in love with you, had been for a very long time and you were well aware. But he never mentioned it directly, and you decided that you wouldnโt bring it up either because you knew that the reality of this lifetime is that you were made to destroy and hurt while he was made to heal and rebuild and you couldnโt risk having him be the next victim.
In moments like these, while alone with your thoughts that slowed down from the flower you smoked that still seemed to suffocate you all the same, you wished things were different. If only you were a stable human being, good enough for him to safely lay his head on your shoulder the way a lover would do, someone whoโs sane and loving and all things good โ all of which you were not โ then perhaps he would be sitting beside you already, encouraging you to open the first letter while being ready to kiss your forehead at the first sign of distress. Itโs selfish, and you knew, but as the screen of your useless phone remained blank you couldnโt help but wish his name would pop up.ย
Your mind swirled with thoughts that made it harder to breathe with each passing second. The box of letters beside you. No signal. Felixโs smile. Childhood home. Your mother leaving. Your fatherโs cold demeanor. Yourself.
Not willing to wait for the rain to end, but also not wanting to dwell in here any longer, you grunted as you put out your joint and walked inside. A plastic sheet that covered one of the cushioned chairs in the living room was the only thing you took before making a b-line back outside. You lazily throw the sheet over the box, struggling only slightly to lift it before leaving the shelter from the rain, instantly drenched as the it offered no mercy. Barely able to keep your eyes open, you followed the same path youโve walked a thousand times throughout your life, the pull of your best friendโs comfort and warmth being the true source of your rush as your pace quickened.
The neighborhood was the same, with the same married couples still residing in them โ though most of their children were gone, already having moved on in their adult lives as their parents awaited for the next holiday to see them again. Everywhere you looked, a memory tied you to Felix as though his entire, beautiful being had been burned into your consciousness forever. Perhaps he had been, not that you would complain about it one bit if that were the case.
Felixโs childhood home came into view at last, and you all but sprinted clumsily with the box in your hands as your mind, body and heart yearned for his strong arms around you. Your heart was pumping blood through your veins harshly by the time youโd made it to his front door, dropping the box at your feet before banging on his wooden door. The air was having a hard time reaching your lungs and you realized that you were crying now that the rain was not hammering onto your skin โ flashbacks of a similar scene played in your head, your teenage self distressed after youโd read your motherโs goodbye letter and your grief engulfed you and sent you down a spiral while the scene of your father sitting on the dinner table reading his newspaper and sipping coffee as you screamed at him to see you and your broken heart left at the departure of your mother. Your fists shaking as you gave up, falling onto your knees in despair just as the door swung open.ย
A wide-eyed Felix stood before you, shocked to see you in such a state and so late at night. It only took him half a second to react as he practically threw himself onto the ground and pulled you into the safety of his embrace despite how drenched you were. A sob you hadnโt realized youโd been holding back escaped your lips, and the gravity of the fact that you were officially alone dawned on you. Your heart ached in a way you couldnโt describe and all you could truly focus on was the fresh scent of his blueberry shampoo and vanilla soap on him as you briefly realized you mustโve caught him getting out of the shower.ย
โHey, hey,โ Felix attempted to pull away slightly to speak to you but you tighten your hold on his torso, not quite ready to let go yet. โI thought you wouldnโt be here until tomorrow.โ
You said nothing, silently cursing yourself for being so weak โ crying over a man who had never even smiled in your direction.ย
โFelix, darling, what was all that noise?โ
The sound of Felixโs motherโs sleepy voice caused you to jerk away from him, cheeks heating up in shame. You were on your feet in a second, bowing deeply to the kind woman whoโd supported you through all of your hardships.ย
โIโ Iโm so sorry, I donโt know what I was thinking when I came here, making all that noise. I justโโ
โNonsense,โ Mrs. Lee waved you off with a concerned smile. โIโve been telling you for years that youโre welcomed here at any time of day. Come in, darling, youโll catch a cold. Come!โ
Felix moved out of the way so that you could enter his home, pushing you away when you tried to grab a hold of the box youโd carried through the rain so that he could take care of it himself. You knew that you mustโve looked deranged, but there was no hint of judgment in their eyes as they watched you take your shoes off at the entrance. Mrs. Lee guided you into the living room by the shoulders despite the fact that you knew your way through the house like the back of your hand. The tenderness of such a simple touch made your sight blurry with tears that you refused to release this time.ย
โDarling, go take a warm shower and Felix will bring you a fresh towel and some spare clothes for you to change into, deal?โ Mrs. Lee raised her brows as she waited for your response, you merely nodded. โGood, have you eaten?โ
โNโ No.โ
โIโll heat up some leftovers from tonightโs dinner, then.โ
With that, she rushed over to the kitchen. You remained in the same spot though, letting the rain drip onto the floor as your body trembled from the chill the weather outside had instilled into you. Felix gently dropped the box on the couch, paying no mind to the wet plastic sheet that was still covering its contents.ย
โY/N,โ Felix said, voice low and warm. โYou told me you were coming tomorrow in the afternoon. Why are you here?โ
โI lied,โ you sighed defeatedly. โI just didnโt want you to worry too much and I thought that I couldโ I thought that I would be able to go in there myself. And I really was fine, reallyโฆuntil I found that stupid box.โ
He glanced back at the box behind him, sighing. Felix didnโt say anything, choosing instead to lead you towards the second floor and into the bathroom he typically shared with his sisters, closing the door behind you.ย
While standing under the scalding hot water in the shower by yourself, you couldnโt help but scold yourself at the lack of impulse control. You could have knocked like a normal person, instead you simply decided that you would bang on his door as though your life was in danger which in turn startled everyone in the house and probably the neighbors as well. The thing that had you so upset was not something that couldnโt wait until tomorrow, it wasnโt urgent at all. It was just a dumb box filled with letters that youโd never received while your father had been alive. So dramatic, you chided.ย
Just when you were about to shut the water off, you heard the bathroom door open quietly while you assumed Felix gathered your wet clothing and replaced them with fresh ones along with a towel. Once the door closed again, you drew the curtains back to be proved right. You dressed quickly, not bothering to brush your hair as you made your way back down and into the kitchen only to find that Mrs. Lee was no longer there, instead you found Felix looking for chopsticks for you to use while you ate.ย
โI told my mom to head to bed,โ Felix informed you without looking up, placing the chopsticks on a napkin beside your warm plate. โWhatโs in the box?โ
Your feet felt heavy with each step you took closer to your meal โ to him. You leaned your lower back against the counter, gingerly taking the plate into your hands. โMy father wrote me letters. A whole lot of them. But he never sent them.โย
Felixโs eyes remained on you, taking his place right beside you, leaving only a hairโs distance in between. In order to not get distracted by this silly fact, you shoved your first bite into your mouth even though you didnโt feel particularly hungry. He didnโt seem to notice, only waiting patiently like he always did.ย
โThe house hasnโt changed a single bit since I left,โ you swallowed, voice thick. โI could tell exactly where he spent the majority of his timeโ the same spot at the head of the dinner table where he left stacks upon stacks of newspapers he never did bother to throw out, the reclining chair right in front of the TV where his weight had left its mark over the years, and his room that was a complete mess of clothes and books and papers and everything he ever used was thrown onto the ground.โ
Another bite. Felix still said nothing.ย
โMy room was left intact,โ you continued. โIt almost felt like time had stopped when I left, and the clock only continued when I walked in again. It was cleanโ my father kept his own room in chaos but cleaned my room. Not a speck of dust anywhere, and I checked.โย
A third bite and then you set the practically full plate back onto the counter, you didnโt have the appetite to finish it. Felix wordlessly cleaned the area and left your plate in the fridge.ย
โI think the only thing that changed there was that all the family photos were taken down.โ You pinch the bridge of your nose, squeezing your eyes shut as your breath becomes slightly shaky. โNot even put away, he justโ took them and smashed them on the floor and left everything there. I canโt help but wonder just how long ago that was, and how many times he turned a blind eye to the broken glass as he stepped over them.
And then I went down to the basement, and everything was pretty much the same except for this stupid box. All of the letters with my name and address written on the envelope and I justโ I lost it. I donโt know what to think anymore, of himโฆof anything.โ
Felixโs arms suddenly wrapped around you tightly, surprising you for a second before you returned the gesture. Your heart was beating erratically in your chest despite this not being the first time heโd hugged you, but this one felt like it did when you were a teenager. It was strong, yet gentle; protective, yet freeing. Although itโd only been a few weeks since youโd seen him, you missed him deeply. You had left town, and he remained here with his family and his happy childhood memories โ though you visited often and he did as well, but still; you missed him deeply.ย
โI think that your father loved you in his own twisted way,โ Felix murmured in your ear at last, arms tightening around you. โHe was hurting, too. And you still didnโt deserve any of the things he did and didnโt do to you, because you were hurting and you were the child. But I think he loved you.โ
Tears welled up in your eyes once more, hands shaking as you gripped Felixโs blue hoodie.ย
ใ ค ใ ค ใ ค โ๏ธ
The rain had stopped after a while, so you and Felix took advantage of that and sat on the roof right outside his bedroom window like youโd done a thousand times before. Overlooking the neighborhood in the dead of night as you lighted up the freshly rolled joint between your lips, inhaling the comforting flower before exhaling its smoke. The weight on your shoulders and mind was lifted as your anxiety dulled and your body relaxed. You passed the joint to Felix, who mimicked your actions.ย
Your tears had long since dried, and the box had been left in the living room as you decided not to look at them tonight. Instead, you focused on the serene atmosphere that surrounded you and Felix like a warm hug. He passed the joint back to you, though you didnโt immediately bring it up to your lips again, letting it burn slightly between your thumb and index finger. Your eyes slowly found their way to Felixโs that had already been on you, analyzing you in the same way he had always done. You couldnโt tell if the glitter in his eyes were a reflection of the stars in the sky, or if they were truly his though they looked enchanting anyway. His smile widened when he noticed you meet his intense gaze and your heart burned at the sight, thinking back to your train of thought back on the front porch of your childhood home right before youโd come here.ย
After all of these years, all of the tears, grief, arguments, and lashing out โ he remained beside you, eyes on you as if youโd placed the sun in the sky yourself. You would never understand how he could stay by you when everyone else had left, there was nothing special about you other than your cutting tongue and vengeful heart. Though you couldnโt help but soften at the sight of him and his optimistic way of seeing the world. He was far too good, too pure for you or anyone else. And yet he sat there, subtly inching closer to you though you had still noticed.ย
Lee Felix was in love with you, and had been for a long time. You were well aware, and had been for a long time. Though he never mentioned it directly and you decided that ignoring this would protect both you and him; but after all of this time, perhaps youโd maybe fallen in love with him too. It would be impossible not to let your own smile widen at the sight of his brown eyes watching you with so much genuine gentleness, to not feel your heart quicken every time he touched you, to not think of him when your bed was empty and cold, to not wish with every aching cell in your body that you were not as damaged as you were so that maybe, just maybe you would have a chance of deserving such a rare soul.ย
Despite knowing all of this, you allowed him to move closer to you as the joint became smaller and smaller with each pass between the two of you. Eventually, your arms and legs were touching, and you could practically feel Felixโs erratic heartbeat.ย
โWhat are you thinking about?โ You surprised yourself by asking him, pointedly staring at the streetlamp directly in front of Felixโs house. His breath hitched slightly, though he didnโt say anything for a few moments.ย
โI donโt know,โ he eventually mumbled with a half-shrug. โEverything, I guess.โ
โWhat is everything, Felix?โ
His eyes met yours, wide with curiosity as he attempted to read you. Your own veins were pulsing with adrenaline from your boldness, though somehow you werenโt as mad about it as you thought you would be.
โIโ Iโm not sure.โ
โI donโt believe you. What is everything?โ
This was everything against what youโd done since you noticed his feelings for you, this was not keeping a safe distance. But you couldnโt help it, it was as though your heart had finally gained control over your brain and was pushing you to confront your own feelings for the first time in years. Because the truth is, your heart did burn for him in a way you couldnโt explain; it fluttered and skipped a beat a thousand times whenever he was around and it had been for as long as you could think back. You didnโt deserve him, but he thought the world of you โ so maybe that was worth something.ย
โEverything isโโ Felixโs eyes searched yours, his breathing picking up slightly. โEverything is you.โ
If your heart either exploded or simply stopped beating, you wouldnโt be surprised in the least. His words sent a chill down your spine, and you couldnโt stop the smile that snuck onto your face.ย
โGood.โ You stated, putting out what little was left of your shared joint on the roof before moving to straddle him, and you might as well have pushed him off and onto the ground before with the way the wind seemed to have been knocked out of him. His eyes were so wide, so surprised yet so excited. โTo me, everything is you, too.โ
His eyes scanned yours for a moment before he released an incredulous, airy chuckle. He didnโt get the chance to say anything, however, as your lips met his for the first time and the world melted away.

summary: following the devastating death of your sister, you find yourself navigating a world that throws you into the deep end of piling bills and worries that you were unsure of how to handle.
The empty locket in your hand had never felt so heavy, the silver bee engraved onto the front seemed to somehow come to life the longer you stared through the blur of unshed tears. Your entire body shivered as you sat on the front steps of the hospital, white smoke forming with every breath exhaled though none of this was something that pained you as much as the loss of your sister. The thought of returning home, where her small son had slept for the past six months since his mother was admitted to the ICU was something you simply could not bear. It was unthinkable. He was too young to know pain, your chest burned with anguish as your mind echoed the last hour in excruciating detail and tears rolled down your cheeks as a wail ripped through you.ย
People stared and your phone buzzed incessantly in your pocket but you hardly noticed any of it. Your throat ached from your screams of despair that only stopped when someone placed their tender hands on your shoulders, the ones you didnโt need to look to know who it was because the only person brave enough to touch you in this state would only be Minho โ your lover and source of support for the past year. His touch alone reduced you to hiccups as you melted into his embrace.ย
โSheโs gone!โ You sobbed, finding it difficult to breathe. Minho tightened his arms that wrapped around you, you could vaguely feel him shaking as he, too, grieved your sisterโs death. โThis isnโt fair! Itโs not fair! She had no right!โ
โI know, my love, I know.โย
โWhat am I going to tell her son?โ You moaned, heart tightening at the thought. โHeโs too young to really understand why heโs never going to see his mom againโฆhow will I explain?โ
He was rocking you gently as a weak attempt to calm your disconsolate state. โWe can figure it out later, heโs sleeping at Chanโs place right now so we have time to think about it. Iโll be with you, so youโre not doing it alone.โย
Tears were no longer streaming down your face, eyes instead glued on the snow covering what had once been the greenest grass youโd ever seen. The world around you began to fade away as you felt yourself becoming numb โ barely even able to feel Minhoโs grip on you as your cries weakened to sniffles.ย
โBaby? Where did you go?โ Minhoโs voice was the softest youโd ever heard it.ย
You glanced around, briefly taking note of the people who stood around watching the scene of your grief. โShe had no right,โ you mumbled almost to yourself. โThe holidays are next weekโฆwe were in the middle of making plans to bring the kids here to celebrate here with her. I donโt understandโ she was fine just a second ago. She had no right. What will I say to the kids?โ
Minhoโs plump lips pressed against your temple and remained there for a good moment before he replaced his kiss with his forehead. โYour sister fought so hard, she tried so hard to get better, baby, and I know you know that.โ
His words were like a stab in the chest, and a choked sob escaped you once more. A desperation like this was not something youโd felt before, and it was something you wouldnโt wish on your worst enemies. Your hand opened to reveal the empty locket sheโd given you just a moment before her passing, she had asked you to wrap it up for her son as well as print a photo of the two of them together to place inside of the locket. She wanted him to always have her over his beautiful, beating heart no matter what became of her; and youโd scolded her for thinking so negatively, promising her that she would pull through and watch her own son grow up into a wonderful young man, but sheโd only smiled at you with grief. Thinking back, you couldnโt help but wonder if she knew this would be the last time youโd see her alive.ย

It was still dark outside when you watched the drowsy employees open the front doors of the toy shop. Minho sat behind the steering wheel of his car, wide eyes gauging your reaction though you only glared forward. Heโd tricked you into coming here, saying that he wanted you to walk in there and pick any and all the gifts you thought your nephew would enjoy without worrying about the prices โ adding salt to injury.ย
Over the last couple of days, you and Minho seemed to argue incessantly โ mostly about financial matters. You were behind on bills, adding the costs of your sisterโs stay at the hospital and the coming holidays you had desperately wanted to make the best of for your nephew and Minho kept insisting you to let him carry some of your burden, but you simply refused. Your nephew was left to you by your sister, and it would be a betrayal if you admitted that you were incapable of taking on such responsibility. Minho meant well, and you were very well aware, but you wished he would just let things go instead of being so infuriating like this.ย
โY/N, I know youโre upsetโโ
โOh, you think so?โ You couldnโt help but respond sarcastically with a scoff, crossing your arms over your chest. โI told you I was going to figure things out, I donโt need your help.โ
He was quiet for just a moment, visibly growing frustrated with you though trying to mostly keep it to himself. Your eyes remained glued to the entrance of the toy shop as you watched a few people walk in for some last minute shopping.ย
โBaby, Christmas is in two days, and you still donโt have anything ready for him.โ
โSo? Plenty of people buy gifts the day before!โ
Minho sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. โY/N, do you really think thatโs practical at all? Iโm offering you a chance to make this a day that he remembers after all the shit heโs had to deal with. Why do you continue to fight me like Iโm your enemy when it comes to things related to money? Iโm on your side, and I thought you knew this. I have more than enough money to spare, I want to give it to you so that you both can live comfortably.โ
โBut I donโt need your money to take care of him and myself, Minho! My sister entrusted me with her son, and who would I be if I canโt even do that? If I have to depend on somebody else to do what she wanted me to do?โ Your voice cracked slightly as a sob bubbled up, though you forced yourself to push it down. You were tired of crying, tired of arguing with your boyfriend, tired of seeing your nephewโs sorrowful face, tired of not being enough to fix everything.ย
โY/N, you wouldnโt be depending on me though,โ he insisted stubbornly, causing you to roll your eyes in exasperation. โBaby, I think your sister would understand if you let me pay a few things here and there. Youโre still working, youโre still doing everything else that you need to do to make sure he has the best life you can offer, youโre just letting me help you even if itโs a little bit. If anything, my love, your sister would appreciate you putting your pride aside for just onceโ just once, so that this sweet kid can have a good day opening presents. And no, I know these presents wonโt fix anything, but itโll make him temporarily happy, just long enough for you to figure out the therapist costs and everything. Donโt you think he deserves that? I am offering you a chance that not many people get, Y/N, you can walk in there and put everything you want without worrying about the prices. Please, let me help you on this if you wonโt let me help you in anything else.โ
His words circled around your brain, and you knew he was right despite how angry and uncomfortable the thought made you. So instead of saying anything, you unbuckle your seatbelt and hop out of his car before slamming the door behind you. You didnโt wait for him to walk inside together, your cheeks heated in shame as you wordlessly took on his offer. You hated this no matter what perspective you tried to look at it from, this is not how you wished you could care for your nephew, but if this is what it takes for him to thrive for now, so be it. Minho quickly fell into step with you as you fetched a cart, a grin very clear and wide on his face which only made you scowl.ย
After a few moments, though, you heard him sigh beside you as he grabbed you by the elbow so youโd stop and turn to look at him. โPlease, donโt be like this. I keep telling you, Y/N, I am on your side. All I want is for you to share your burdens with me, especially if I have the means to help you. I love you, and it would be selfish if I just stood on the sidelines as you struggled like this. Me helping you doesnโt make you anything less than a fierce person who puts their family first, youโre strong and resourceful, youโre always fighting everyone and everything in order to move forward โ you must be so exhausted. Let me fight some of your battles every now and then, just until you can stand on your own again. Iโm not here to take care of every single hardship, Iโm not here to take control of anything. Iโm just here to help my soulmate out sometimes and I donโt think thatโs a sin, is it?โ
You said nothing at first, only sighing before pressing your forehead onto his chest in defeat. He chuckled lightly, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into the familiar warmth of his embrace.ย
โToday, Iโm helping you with the presents, and tomorrow we can figure out something that helps but doesnโt overstep any boundaries you might have, howโs that sound? I could be the one to bring groceries every week, Iโll be happy with only being responsible for that while you continue paying for everything else like you want to, yeah?โ
A muffled groan made it past your lips before you pulled away to look up at him. โIโm so lucky to have you, Minho. I donโt know what I did to end up here, but Iโm happy youโre on my side.โ
He smiled at you tenderly, cupping your face with both hands and caressing your cheeks with his thumbs. โI will always be on your side, I can promise you that. I adore the two of you, and I want to stay here for a long, long time.โ
The words were barely out of his mouth before your lips crashed onto his. You were still uncomfortable with the idea of having someone else take part of your financial burdens, but you also knew that you were in safe hands with him. You trusted Minho, and the thought alone made your heart flutter.ย

๐ฌ a note from green;
Okay, so this one really had me thinking! When I received your ask, I immediately knew it would be Christmas theme considering that we're already at that time of the year where we spend a whole lot of money on gifts for our loved ones. Also, it wouldn't be me if I didn't add a sprinkle of tragedy into my work.
Anyway, thank you for reading my work and I'm so happy you love it! Thank you for the challenge and the request! Sending you lots of love back!
P.S. I also love your writing <3

The kitchen feels like a war zone, the air thick with unsaid accusations and the sharp remnants of long-festered wounds. Your mother stands at the sink, her back rigid and unforgiving, hands submerged in soapy water as she scrubs a dish with a ferocity that speaks louder than words. Each stroke of her hand seems to scrape away at the silence, but instead of clarity, it only stirs the storm between you. You can almost see the tension rippling off her like waves of heat from a furnace, feeding the blaze that has been building in your chest, threatening to consume you.
โSo, thatโs it?โ you ask, your voice taut, straining against the anger simmering just below the surface. โYouโre really going to ignore everything Iโve said and expect me to drop everythingโagainโto drive him around?โ Thereโs a tremor in your tone, a plea for acknowledgment masked by the bitterness of your words. But she doesnโt turn to face you. Instead, she sighs, a heavy, exaggerated breath that fills the room with disdain, as if you are the one being irrational, ungrateful.
โHe doesnโt have anyone else,โ she replies, her voice dripping with exasperation, as if you should already know this. โAnd itโs not like itโs a big dealโyouโre already out and about. Whatโs a little detour to help your brother?โ
Her words hit you like a slap across the face, stinging and familiar. โA little detour?โ you echo, a disbelieving laugh slipping out, sharp and brittle. โMom, I have a job. I have classes. Iโm barely keeping up as it is. But sure, letโs add โchauffeur for the man-childโ to my list of responsibilities.โ
At this, she finally turns, her face set in that hardened expression you know so wellโeyes narrowed, lips pulled into a thin, unforgiving line. โDonโt talk about him like that,โ she snaps, her voice a low warning. โHeโs your brother. Heโs just going through a rough time.โ
A bitter, exhausted laugh escapes your lips, and you can feel the years of buried frustration rising up, threatening to overflow. "A rough time?" you repeat, your voice growing louder, each word carrying the weight of all the grievances youโve kept bottled up for so long. โHeโs been โgoing through a rough timeโ for the last five years! And every single time he screws up, youโre right there, wiping his slate clean, making excuses for him. He never has to face the consequences of anything, and somehow, Iโm always the one left to pick up the pieces!โ
Your voice cracks, and the room seems to tremble with the force of your words. All the times youโve been overlooked, all the sacrifices youโve made without a second thought, all the nights spent wondering why you were never enoughโeverything comes crashing down in this moment. You stand there, breathless, waiting for something, anything, that resembles an acknowledgment of what youโve endured.
But she doesnโt see it. She doesnโt hear it. She doesnโt even flinch. And that, more than anything, is what breaks you.
"That's not true," your mother snaps, her voice cutting through the air like the crack of a whip, cold and biting. "You donโt know what heโs going through. Youโve always been so hard on him, never understanding." Her words hang in the air, thick with accusation, and you feel a familiar frustration beginning to coil tightly in your chest.
You scoff, the sound escaping before you can stop it, disbelief etched across your face. "Understanding?" you fire back, voice laced with incredulity. "You mean like how youโre 'understanding' when he crashes his car because he was out partying, and you expect me to drop everything, put my entire life and future on hold, to make up for it? Or how youโre 'understanding' when he blows all his money on God knows what, and Iโm the one who has to lend him my hard-earned cash so he can pay his rent? Youโve always been โunderstandingโ of him, but when have you ever been โunderstandingโ of me?"
For a moment, the room falls silent, heavy with the weight of everything that has been left unsaid for far too long. Your motherโs eyes flash dangerously, a mix of anger and frustration, a glare that once would have made you swallow your words, scramble to backtrack and apologize. But not today. Today, the exhaustion has settled too deeply in your bones, mingling with the anger that has simmered for years, bubbling to the surface.
"You think I donโt care about you?" she spits out, her voice rising, each word sharp and defensive. "Iโve done everything for you! You grew up with food on the table and a roof over your head. You have a job now, youโre in college, you have everything going for you. Do you think that just happened by itself?"
Her audacity stings, her self-righteousness fanning the flames inside you. Every vein feels like itโs on fire, adrenaline surging through your body. โNo,โ you say, voice trembling but strong, each word pushed out with a force that surprises even you. โDonโt you dare take credit for what little good I have in my life. Donโt you dare. Everything I have going for me is because I worked for it. I was the one who graduated as valedictorian in high schoolโnot you, not him. I worked my ass off to get into college, scrapping for every scholarship I could find so I wouldnโt have to drown in debt later. I found my own place to live, found a job so I could pay my own bills, held myself together when everything around me was falling apart.โ
Your words pour out like a flood, each one more bitter than the last. You can see her eyes narrowing, her lips tightening, but it only pushes you to keep going. โBut you? Sure, you fed me, you put a roof over my headโlike the law says you should. But you only ever noticed me when I was useful to him, when I made things easier for your golden child."
The silence that follows is deafening, filled with the echoes of things that have finally been said, the raw truth laid bare between you. The tension in the room is electric, the weight of years of imbalance, neglect, and misplaced loyalty pressing down on your shoulders. But for the first time, you feel something shift inside youโa spark of liberation, a sense that perhaps, just perhaps, youโve finally stepped out of the shadow that has loomed over you for so long.
"You're being so selfish," she spits, her voice trembling with a barely controlled fury that makes the walls tremble. The dishes slip from her hands, clattering into the sink with a loud clank as she whirls around to face you. Her eyes are wild, nearly bulging out of her head, her face flushed with indignation. "You have no idea what it's like to be a parent, to have to make these kinds of decisions." The venom in her words seeps into the air, choking you with its bitterness.
But you donโt flinch. Your fists curl even tighter at your sides, nails digging into your palms as you stand your ground, locking eyes with her. "I'm selfish?" A bitter laugh escapes you, sharp and brittle, and you can feel the hot sting of unshed tears pricking at the corners of your eyes. "Do you even hear yourself? You've spent years bending over backwards to coddle him, to fix every single one of his messes. And every time, it's me who gets caught in the crossfire. It's always me whoโs expected to be the 'responsible one.' And what do I get for it? Nothing. Not a thank you, not a 'good job,' not even a fraction of the support and understanding you so eagerly throw at him."
Your motherโs hand slams down on the counter with a thunderous bang, making you jump. Her face is a twisted mask of rage and frustration. "You've always had a chip on your shoulder about him," she sneers, her tone dripping with condescension, as if speaking to a petulant child. "Maybe if you weren't so jealousโ"
"Don't even start." You cut her off, your voice cracking under the weight of everything youโve kept bottled up for so long. "I'm not jealous, Mom. I'm tired. I'm tired of being the one who has to sacrifice everything while he coasts through life, knowing youโll always be there to bail him out. I'm tired of you making me feel like Iโm never enough, like Iโm only here to clean up his messes and make things easier for him."
The air thickens, a suffocating silence falling between you. Your motherโs face hardens, her eyes narrowing into icy slits. "If you don't like it, then maybe you should just leave," she says, her words cutting through the tension like a knife. "You're an adult now, arenโt you? You can make your own choices."
Her words hang in the air, daring you to speak, to react. For a moment, youโre stunned, the breath catching in your throat. Then, softly, like a truth you've kept buried, you say, "Maybe I should." The words taste like freedom on your tongue, a release from years of guilt and fear. "Because I canโt keep doing this. I canโt keep letting you use me to prop him up while you tear me down. I deserve better than this."
For a fleeting moment, something flickers in her eyesโsomething almost vulnerable, almost human. But it vanishes as quickly as it came, replaced by the same cold indifference that has always been there. "Fine. Do what you want," she says dismissively, her tone devoid of emotion. "But donโt come crying to me when you realize you canโt handle the world Iโve protected you from."
A humorless laugh bubbles up in your throat, but you swallow it down, taking a deep breath instead. You feel the weight of years of resentment, of pain and unspoken truths, settling into place. "I won't," you reply, voice steady as a stone. "Because I've been handling the world all my life. You never protected me from itโyou only ever protected your golden child. And Iโm done."
You turn away, leaving her standing there, leaving behind the suffocating grip of a mother who never truly saw you. You walk out of the kitchen, out of the house that never felt like a home, and with each step, the air feels a little lighter, the world outside a little more open. For the first time, you feel the distant, hopeful glimmer of something newโsomething that belongs to you, and you alone.
You sit in the driverโs seat, fingers clenched around the steering wheel with a grip so tight that your knuckles have turned ghostly white. Each breath you take is shallow and ragged, barely filling your lungs. Your heart hammers in your chest, erratic and wild, a drumbeat of panic. The weight of the argument you just had with your mother crashes over you like an unrelenting wave, cold and suffocating. It presses down on you with a force that makes you feel as if youโre drowning, gasping for air but finding none.
Your eyes remain fixed on the house in front of youโyour childhood home, a place that should have held comfort and warmth but instead feels like a prison. Each window, each door, every familiar detail seems to glare back at you like a hundred judgmental eyes, watching, waiting. This is where you learned the rules of a game you never asked to play. A place where love was conditional, tethered to sacrifice and silence. And now, itโs a place youโve walked away fromโperhaps for good.
Your vision blurs with unshed tears, and you let out a shaky breath that comes out more like a sob than you intended. You blink rapidly, trying to clear the sting from your eyes, but itโs useless. You canโt stay here, not in front of this house where the walls seem to whisper accusations, where every step closer feels like sinking deeper into quicksand. You canโt risk your mother storming out with that familiar fire in her eyes, her voice like a vice, twisting your emotions to suit her will.
With trembling hands, you fumble for your phone, fingers unsteady as they swipe through your contacts. You need an anchor, something to steady you before youโre pulled under by the crushing weight of it all. You find his nameโFelix. Your thumb hovers for a moment, then presses the call button. You raise the phone to your ear, the screen blurring with tears as you pull out of the driveway. You donโt have a destination in mind; you just need to be moving, to put distance between you and that house.
The line rings once, twice, and with each unanswered ring, the panic coils tighter in your chest, rising into your throat like bile. What if he doesnโt pick up? What if heโs busy? What if youโre left alone with the noise in your head? But thenโ
"Hey, sunshine," his voice breaks through, warm and steady, like the first rays of dawn piercing through the darkest night. His tone is so familiar, so safe. "You okay? I'm justโ"
You donโt let him finish. Your voice cracks as you speak, holding back the sob that threatens to spill over. "Felix...IโI did it. I told her...I told her that I'm done. I can't...I can't believe that I actually did it." The words rush out of you in a breathless stream, a confession that feels both terrifying and freeing.
Thereโs a pause on the other end, a silence that feels heavy with the weight of his understanding. You can almost hear him processing your words, feel the concern threading through the line. When he finally speaks, his voice is soft, careful. "You talked to her?" he asks, his tone gentle yet laced with worry. "What happened?"
His question hangs in the air, pulling at your heartstrings, inviting you to pour out the torrent of emotions swirling inside you. And for the first time in what feels like forever, you feel like you can breathe, even if just a little, knowing that someone is there to catch you as you fall.
You squeeze your eyes shut for a moment, a futile attempt to push back the tears that threaten to spill over. Your heart is pounding in your chest, a heavy, uneven rhythm that matches the chaos in your mind. When you open your eyes again, you force yourself to focus on the road, blinking rapidly to clear the blurriness from your vision. You suck in a shaky breath, trying to steady yourself, to find some semblance of calm amidst the storm raging inside you.ย ย
"It was about my man-child of a brother again," you start, your voice wavering as you speak. Each word feels like a shard of glass, cutting through the tightness in your throat. "She wanted me to...to fucking drop everything and take care of his mess again. He crashed the damn car, and sheโs not even mad at him. She was actually more pissed at me for not wanting to drive him everywhere." The bitterness in your tone is unmistakable, tinged with a raw edge of frustration thatโs been simmering for far too long. "And I just...I couldnโt take it anymore, Lix. I told her Iโm done. I told her I wasnโt coming back."ย ย
Your breath hitches, and a sob finally breaks free, raw and unrestrained, as you come to a stop at a red light. The tears you've been holding back spill over, warm and unwelcome, streaking down your cheeks. "But what if I made a mistake? What if Iโm wrong?" you choke out, the words heavy with doubt and fear. "I mean, they are my family at the end of the day, and Iโm nothing without them. What if I...what if I shouldnโt have done this?"ย ย
On the other end of the line, you hear a soft rustling, a familiar sound that brings a small measure of comfort. You know heโs moving, pacing like he always does when heโs worried. Felixโs voice comes through, steady and gentle, like a lifeline. "Hey, hey, take a breath for me, hmm?" he murmurs, his tone soothing. "Just breathe. In and out, yeah? Iโm right here."ย ย
You try to follow his instructions as you ease off the brake, the traffic lights changing to green. You take a deep breath in, filling your lungs, and then let it out, but the exhale is shaky, faltering, as if your body is resisting the calm heโs trying to instill. The tears keep flowing, unchecked, but his voice remains a steady anchor amidst the turbulent sea of your emotions.ย ย
"You did the right thing, love," he continues, his voice firm with convictionโa conviction you desperately need to hear right now. "Youโve been dealing with their bullshit for so long. Too long. You deserve to let it go. You deserve to be free of it all."ย ย
Without much thought, you turn the car to the right, feeling the pull of his reassurance guiding you, even if youโre not quite sure where youโre going. "But what if...what if Momโs right?" you whisper, your voice trembling with uncertainty. "What if I am being selfish? I just...I grew up with this rule in my head that family always helps family, so what if Iโm being a shitty person by refusing?"ย ย
For a moment, thereโs a pause, a breath of silence that hangs in the air, heavy with all the questions and fears you canโt quite voice. Felixโs next words are gentle, but they cut through that fog with a clarity that brings you back from the edge. "Youโre not selfish," he says quietly but firmly. "Sometimes, family isn't about blood; itโs about who stands by you, who sees you. And youโve been standing on your own for a long time. Itโs okay to want more than just survival."ย ย
Tears spill down your cheeks, hot and unrelenting, blurring your vision as they cascade over your skin. You press the heel of your hand against your eyes, trying to stem the flow, but itโs like trying to dam a river with a single stoneโfutile. The weight of everything, the argument, the years of silent endurance, crashes over you in waves, threatening to pull you under. With a shaky breath, you pull onto the side of the road, the tires crunching over gravel, and the car comes to a halt.ย
"Iโm scared, Lix," you confess, your voice breaking, small and fragile as it escapes you. "Iโm scared that Iโll regret this." The words hang in the air, and for a moment, it feels like the world is holding its breath with you. Your heart is a clenched fist in your chest, squeezing tighter with each passing second.ย
Then, his voice breaks through the silenceโa warm, comforting presence that feels like a soft embrace, wrapping around you when you need it most. "You wonโt," he says, his tone gentle yet firm, a soothing balm for your frayed nerves. "You know why, huh? Because youโre finally choosing yourself. And thatโs not something to regret, not ever. Love, Iโm not trying to say itโll be easy from now on, but you deserve to be happy. You deserve to be loved for who you are, not for what you can do for someone else."
A shaky breath escapes your lips, and the tightness in your chest starts to loosen, if only a little. His words are like a lifeline, grounding you, pulling you back from the edge of your doubts. Deep down, beneath the fear and the uncertainty, you know heโs right. Youโve carried this weight for so long that it feels strange to think of setting it down. But his words are a steady anchor, keeping you from drifting away.ย
"Can I come over?" you ask, your voice almost a whisper, raw and vulnerable. "I donโt... I donโt want to be alone right now." The admission feels like exposing a wound, but with Felix, itโs okay. Itโs always been okay.
There isnโt a moment of hesitation before he responds, his voice filled with that unwavering reassurance youโve come to rely on. "Of course. Iโm not home right now, but I was already on my way from class, so Iโll meet you there, okay? Just stay on the phone with me until I get there. Weโll figure everything out together."ย ย
You nod, even though he canโt see you, feeling a small, tired smile tug at the corners of your lips. Thereโs still a lingering ache in your heart, but itโs softer now, more manageable. "Thank you, babe," you whisper, the words heavy with gratitude and love.ย
"Always," he murmurs back, his voice a soft promise that settles deep within you. "Just keep breathing, sunshine. Iโve got you. I always will."
With his voice still in your ear, you restart the car, feeling his presence as a guiding light through the darkness thatโs clouded your path for so long. The road stretches out before you, uncertain and unfamiliar, but with Felix by your sideโeven if only through the phoneโit doesnโt seem quite so daunting.ย
For the first time in what feels like years, thereโs a flicker of something warm blooming in your chest. Hope. Fragile, tentative, but undeniably there. And for now, thatโs enough.

โ O1โshrined
ten months earlier
Itโs a shrine. Photographs and posters of your own face decorate the walls of your former bedroom, framed and hung neatly into rows according to the dates released. The wobbly old bookshelves that used to hold your most cherished books had been replaced by plain white ones that now hold nothing more than your albums and merchandise. The desk youโd spent hours upon hours sitting at while studying or writing songs until your body physically could not hold you up any longer is gone, and in place there are a few life-sized cardboards that youโre certain were not bought, but taken. The only familiarity in this shrine is your bed, dressed in the same crimson color youโd always adored. There sat you, a shell of someone whose face was never on the walls in such a way, along with your suitcase that lay untouched since youโve arrived.ย
A plethora of conflicting emotions overwhelmed your entire being as memories upon memories you often avoided flooded your already busy mind, causing a migraine to creep in through your temples. Although youโd already taken some medicine for it, you doubt it would be something that might be relieved without a proper nightโs sleep. However, as your mother poked her head through the half-closed door of your old bedroom, you knew that might not be the case. Regardless, you pulled the corners of your lips into a smile you hoped would be convincing enough for her as she made her way inside to take a seat beside you.ย
She looked around at the redecorating she did, blushing slightly. โI couldnโt help it, I wanted to support you in your success.โ
You didnโt say anything, instead opting to take another look around at all of the eerie posters youโd barely remember posing for. The dark tones of horror present in every single thing that contained your stage name, Noctara, that created an odd feeling of looking at someone else instead of your own face.ย
โI wanted to have it all in the living room, so that our friends could see how hard youโre working, but your father thought it might scare some of them away,โ she laughed softly at this, rolling her eyes as though she thought it was the most ridiculous thing, and although youโd side with your father, you smiled at her anyway. It was odd to watch her find something to say, considering the last time youโd seen her in person had been so hurtful. It could only mean that she wished to forget about it โ or maybe she already did.ย
It wasnโt surprising in the least that she would choose to display your success now that you couldnโt walk the streets without covering up half of your face so you wouldnโt be recognized. Although youโd always had an affinity for performing, there were too many times in which you considered quitting with your motherโs obsession with having a talented child. Too many times had you been pushed right up to the edge, struggling to grab onto something to hold and keep you from falling. The irony of you being a successful idol does not escape you, though, as deadlines and busy schedules creep up behind you every time you attempt to catch a breath; only this time, you couldnโt run behind your doting father to save you from the heavy weight of the expectations of others โ not when your career found itself at its peak.ย
Because of your career, you were able to have your father retire from his construction job and help him pursue his lifelong dream of owning a record store right around the corner of your street. If you quit and hide now, your family that now depends on your income would be left with nothing despite your fatherโs store blooming thanks to this generation buying vinyls again, and it wouldnโt be fair no matter how you felt about them at the end of the day.ย
โHave you seen my garden?โ Your mother asked after what felt like an eternity of silence. You shake your head, surprised to hear sheโd finally done what she had always said she would: to tend the gardens that had spent so many years of your childhood neglected. โCome with me.โ
She motioned with her hand for you to follow her, quickly standing up and rushing out of your room as though sheโd have preferred being anywhere else. With a soft groan, you stand on your feet as you ignore the ache on your lower back and knees.ย
The glass sliding doors that led to your backyard was wide open when you finally stepped into the common areas of your house. Your mother stood on the porch, smiling widely as you finally scanned her hard work. It was clear that she did not plan a single thing, with wildflowers of all kinds scattered around and standing almost as tall as yourself. Though she did make a stone path that would meet in the very center where a gorgeous fountain was found. Although the chaos was present wherever your eyes landed, you couldnโt help but be completely mesmerized by its unconventional yet natural beauty.ย
โItโs beautiful,โ you breathed. She motioned for the porch swing right beside the sliding doors, and you gladly took a seat as she joined you. โIโm glad you finally got the garden you wanted.โ
With a gentle smile, she said, โIt could not have been without you.โ
You tried to ignore the swelling in your chest, though the smile that formed against your wishes betrayed you and your mother smiled a little wider though thankfully did not say anything for another long while.ย
โDo you have anyone?โ
The sudden question caused you to scoff, rolling your eyes before you could stop yourself. โWhat do you mean?โ
โI mean,โ she forced out through gritted teeth at your attitude, so you purse your lips as a silent apology. โAre you seeing anyone?โ
โMom,โ you sighed. โYou know that I am not allowed to be dating as an idol.โ
โYes, that might be true,โ she continued to insist. โBut I am always reading about idols who date anyway.โ
โAnd why are you able to read about it, Mom? Because they were either caught or because their companies allowed them to come out as taken.โ
โYes, yes,โ she swatted her hands in the air as if physically dismissing your words. โRules are only a suggestion, they canโt ultimately control you like that.โ
At the words coming out of her mouth, you canโt help but chuckle breathlessly and glance up at the stars above as if theyโd send some strength your way. The incongruity of her words almost made you want to laugh out loud.ย
โYou donโt understand, I could get fired if I am caught dating, and it has happened before.โ
โAt least listen to what I have to say,โ she huffed stubbornly, and you sighed in defeat. โThe reason why I bring this up is because I met with an old friend of mine from my youthโโ
โAbsolutely not.โ
โHold onโโ
โNo, Mom, I am not meeting any sons of your friends.โ
โPlease!โ
At her shout, you stopped yourself from responding any further, jaw clenched together in annoyance. In order to keep your composure, you turned your gaze towards the serene garden.ย
โI met with a friend from my youth, and she has a son who is also an idol. I didnโt promise her anything, but I told her I would talk to you about it and if you agreed then youโd meet with the boy at the coffee shop two blocks away from here this Friday. Even if youโre concerned with your company firing you, which I doubt given your success, you can always just say you were meeting a friend instead of being on a date. There is really no harm in meeting one boy for your motherโs sake.โ
โMy answer is still no, I donโt want toโโ
โOh, Y/N, please! I donโt ask you for muchโโ
โNo, Mom, you ask me for everything! It doesnโt mean that I donโt appreciate all that you have done for me because I do, but my answer will still be a solid no.โ
โSo you would rather embarrass me?โ
With an exasperated sigh, you look up at the stars once more, begging them to save you at this point.ย
โYou know what, fine,โ you grit out, not bothering to hide your clear frustration. โBut I will meet him only once and you will never bother me with this nonsense again.โ
The beam that took over her expression would have been comical if you werenโt so exasperated with her. She hops to her feet in excitement, kissing your cheeks before rushing back inside to presumably tell your father about this. In the distance, you could hear her reminding you that the meeting would be this Friday at noon.ย
Another sigh makes it past your lips, rubbing your temples before leaning back in your seat.ย
The garden truly was beautiful, and the starry night sky was even more stunning.ย
