also when the a.c. is on you would 10000% steal one of their sweaters

when karl’s driving, you would be in the front seat while sap took a nap in the back seat

Yes, realistically in small town Indiana in the 80s most people would be at least casually homophobic if not passionately homophobic.

But most people would also be at least casually, if not passionately racist.

And we only get two racist characters, Billy and Troy, both of whom are villainized.

We also only get two homophobic characters, Lonnie and Troy, both of whom are villainized.

The Duffers have made certain exceptions to their historical accuracy. Because if all of the characters were racist and homophobic, they wouldn't be likable to us and we wouldn't care about the story. It would also just be a depressing ass show to watch.

So for that reason, I don't think any of the main characters are going to be portrayed as homophobic for the sake of "accuracy".

And sure, maybe Mike and Will being openly in a relationship without facing constant harassment isn't "realistic". ...but neither is Lucas and Max?

eddie is never seen with a book in hands when he’s out in public, especially in school. but he is an avid reader, and reads, at least, two books every month. his favorite genre is absolutely fantasy (and he also loves comic books, and is a marvel fan). and yeah, some might say that he doesn’t even knows how to read, but eddie always keeps a book on his nightstand and reads it before he goes to sleep.

so just know that whenever you’re staying over at his place, he will read a couple of pages out loud for you - sometimes, eddie gets you so invested on the stories that you both stay up all night to finish the book. but when you can’t end it, he will call you at night just to read the rest to you. <3
