The soft pitter-patter of the rain filled your ears as you made your way to work. It was early in the morning, but the weather wasn’t the greatest. They predicted on the news that it was going to rain quickly, but as you walked, the rain was getting worse.

The simple patter was starting to hit your black umbrella harder. You just needed to round the corner to get to the café. “Why is it so gloomy?” You question. You quicken your pace hoping you can get to the café without the rain getting any worse than it already was.

You turn the corner and see a figure standing in front of the café. It was the weekend, and usually, you opened by yourself. It wasn’t as busy as it was on weekdays. As you got closer, the figure didn’t have an umbrella. “Yoongi?” You speak his name and he can’t help but give a tiny smile.

Truthfully, his heart is guiding his actions more than his brain. If he used his brain, he’d have an umbrella and not show up so early to see you again. His heart, on the other hand, convinced him to get dressed and go see you again. Once you call his name, a pink blush appears on his cheeks.

“Morning,” he said, a bit flustered. “Morning. Here, hold this.” You give him your umbrella, take out your keys and unlock the big lock on the side. 

“Why are you here so early?” Your voice is laced with a bit of worry.“Oh, I um… I was going to order an Iced Americano.” That was true but he also just wanted to see you again. You finally unlock the doors and let Yoongi in.

You wouldn’t leave him in the rain. “Thank you.” “Don’t worry about it.” A giggle leaves your lips watching him get flustered. You go to the break room and place your things down. Grabbing a clean towel, you put on your apron and walk back to the front. “Use this Mr.Iced Americano so you don’t get sick,” handing him the towel. 

“Sorry for the trouble,” he mutters. “Huh? You didn’t do anything wrong. Just bring an umbrella next time,” you give a small smile. “Oh, and your usual will be done in a few minutes.” 

You get started with turning on the coffee machines and checking the inventory. Yoongi peers over at you as you start to work and get the café ready for other customers. He watches in awe the entire time and even forgets to dry his hair. 

“Oh shoot, I need to bake the cookies,” you mumble. It’s been a constant thing. Any time he orders his Iced Americano, you give him a treat. Yoongi seems to like the cookies the most. 

“Y/n?” Looking up from your current task, he sheepishly holds the folded towel in front of him. “Where should I put this?” “Umm,” you put the tray of cookies in the oven and turn back around, “I can take it.” 

As he gives you the towel, he asks another question. “Do you need help?” “Do you want to help?” Countering his question with another. Silently, you take him by the hand and lead him to the back. You take an apron off the hook and hold it up, waiting for him to put his head through the top part. “Will I get paid?” He jokes. “No sorry, that only applies to actual employees,” you chuckle. 

He puts his head through the loop and watches you tie the straps around his waist. “Alright, welcome to your first and last day. We need to bake cookies.” Following you, he watches you measure out all of the ingredients and get them mixed. Right after you instruct him to place the cookie dough on the tray with parchment paper.

“You do this every morning?” Yoongi puts on some gloves and starts to roll the dough in his hands. “Depends, most times its cookies. Other times it's cupcakes and cake.” Stopping him for a moment, you rolled up his sleeves. Making sure he doesn’t get his clothes dirty. “Don’t you work with someone else?” Another leaves his lips as he continues rolling out the dough.

“On weekdays I open with Lina. They tend to be slower than weekdays so I open by myself.” Once he finishes rolling out the dough, you instruct him to ball up the dough and put it in a bowl. Covering the bowl with plastic wrap, you place the bowl on the corner that’s closest to the oven. 

“You like opening by yourself?” Another question from his direction. “Sometimes I do. I like the peace of the morning.” Your answer, revealing more about your personality. He hums a response as you grab a mitten and take the baked cookies out of the oven. Then he notices that they are the cookies you usually serve him. The chocolate chip cookies.

How’d I not notice? Seems like she thinks of everything. Y/n is such a mystery.

“I think you should go wash your hands instead of watching me, Yoongi,” You giggle watching the rosy color appear on his cheeks again. Flustered, he goes to wash his hands and dry them off while Y/n sets the cookies to cool. Eventually, you go check on Yoongi who was drying his hands. 

“Anything else I should do?” “No, I got it. Remember, this is your first last day,” you smirk. Once again, you untie the apron from around his waist before looking up at him. The sudden urge to kiss the man in front of you was strong. Because maybe he felt it too. Maybe he can feel the air getting electrified. Maybe he feels the same attraction you felt for him. And with all that, you pull the apron close only to feel his lips on yours.

It’s just a kiss. It can easily confirm your suspicions. After a few seconds, his lips move alongside yours. As if to overcome the shock, he easily kissed you back. Nothing but a simple kiss, it confirms your questions. Nothing but soft lips moving in sync. His hands gently touch yours, as if to test his limits. Slowly his hands move downwards and stop at your waist. 

Pulling your body against him, his warmth engulfs you. This answers a lot of questions. Only then you pull away from the kiss. A low hum comes from him and you can’t help but giggle. “It’s my last day because employees can’t be in relationships, huh?” He guessed it right. You nod your head not breaking his gaze.

His eyes quickly glance down at your lips. Truly you can see that the man in front of you is in a daze. One of the coffee machines go off and it spooks you for a moment. Remembering that you have a cafe to run. Quite literally, it’s your job. 

Yoongi’s arms only tighten around your waist. “C’mon, I have to work,” you giggle. A sigh leaves his lips as he lets go. Eventually, he follows you back out to the front. You hand him his drink and the baggie of cookies. “Iced Americano and some chocolate chip cookies,” you say with a smile behind the corner. Before he said anything, he walks back to the glass doors and turned the sign to “closed.”

“What are you doing?” Confused by his actions, you walk from behind the corner. “I just need to make sure…” “Make sure of what?” And before you know it, he has you in an embrace again, his lips on yours. Happily accepting the kiss, you even laugh during the kiss. “Till next time,” he says while pulling away from the kiss. You answer back with a simple hum. “Till next time.”

Yoongi picks up his things and leaves. 

“He’s in such a good mood.” If anyone glanced at Yoongi, they’d only figure out part of the reason why he was in such a good mood. Throughout the morning, the man noticed that the more he drank the coffee, more numbers would be revealed. “Should I not be in a good mood?” Hearing his roommates’ comments. “No, it’s just been a while since we’ve seen you this happy,” Namjoon says with a smile.

All the roommates were having a meeting and Yoongi wasn’t listening to a single word. Even though everyone noticed his change of mood, only Jimin and Namjoon were laughing about it. “It’s the waitress from the restaurant, right?” “Yeah, and like an idiot, he left without an umbrella to go see her. Whipped…” Jimin grins.

As the day continues, Yoongi sits and ponders what he should do next. He already saved your number into his phone. He was going to text you but now he doesn’t know what. After this morning’s event, the daze started to clear out and the panic started to settle in. Then there’s a knock on his bedroom door.

Yoongi doesn’t even answer, the door opens with a smirk plastered on Jimin’s face. Usually Jimin would ask to come in but since it means that Yoongi was in a good mood, he won’t miss the chance to tease him. “Did you call her yet?” “No, she’s still at work. What do you want?” 

“Well, I came to tease you for the most part but if you need help, I can definitely help with that too,” Jimin says while taking a sip of his drink. What Jimin had failed to tell Yoongi, is that Jimin and Taehyung went to the cafe to go see this woman again. If she had such an effect on Yoongi, something definitely happened.

“So she is currently on her break I think… you could text her.” Immediately Yoongi glares at Jimin and gives him a look. “Stop messing with me, I’ll text her later.” “She clearly said she didn’t mind getting a message around this time.” Yoongi glances at his phone for a moment only for the screen to light up.

Clear as day, a text message from the number he just saved into his phone. Only for it to read, I’ll probably text you later because my break is almost over. Maybe wanna go somewhere tomorrow… maybe?

“What did she say?” Jimin starts to look over Yoongi’s shoulder and quickly Yoongi grabs his phone. Before Yoongi could text back, another text appeared. Two of your friends came into the cafe. They gave me your number. 

You’re about to get off break in a few minutes, but you’re waiting for your screen to light up. The two guys that came in earlier, were all giggly while speaking to you. “Is that the iced americano guy? You finally got his number?” Lina asks while looking over your shoulder. “Yes, yes and shouldn’t you be wiping tables?” “Yes and I handed them to Genee because I wanted to see why you didn’t clock back in from break.”

Typically, you would clock back in a bit earlier to help out or finish some baking. Yet, here you were staring at your phone waiting for one simple reply. It hasn’t come yet and you’re getting anxious. 

Then the little typing bubble appears, then disappears. I could maybe pick you up tomorrow @10am. Maybe to eat? Your face heats up a bit realizing he is teasing you but he accepted the date.
