Last Show: Rewatched Kuroko no Basket. Lots of thoughts have emerged now that I've glanced into this fandom again. Good for KnB. Bad for other fandoms. Kinda cried about it.

Currently watching: My friend got me watching the Witcher. I have to close my eyes during nude scenes, but for the most part I like it.

Currently Reading: Put everything on pause and am reading Radio Silence by Alice Oseman. I beg everyone, read their writing. If you give a shit about LGBT issues, I suggest you read some actual representation and pick up one of their books.

Does anybody acknowledge Izaya's charm at all? I mean the guy works for yakuza and other big businesses, the guy kinda needs it. And he had to lure teenagers in some how. That sounded bad. No wonder he gets labelled with stranger danger

So fun fact, in the game we originally considered two of the characters getting hanahaki disease. For those of you who don't know it's a fictional disease caused by unrequited love that causes the victim to cough up flowers and blood. If it's not treated or if the love isn't requited, the victim will die. Obviously we scrapped the idea because that was just too depressing. Not to mention, it put a lot of guilt and pressure on the player to choose specific characters, which didn't seem fair at all. It's up to the players to choose who they romance, not us. However, the idea still inspires me to draw stuff like this. So enjoy.

Their parents are said to work overseas and send money back to them. So whether or not if the Orihara kids ever met such financial trouble is debatable. I don't think they would, but I'm certain they would have found it difficult to treat themselves on occasion or go do outings that most kids their age should be able to do. Like I doubt they would be getting the biggest of birthday presents.

So yeah, Izaya may have gotten into the informant job to help out with that.

I can't remember the specifics of when Izaya started getting access to the underground but I'm guessing it was pretty young for normal standards...actually given the common trend of gang warfare maybe not. But I feel like he got a little more deep into it than any of the colour gang leaders did. Like didn't he get recruited by Kine?

Anyway, given that and his apparent brilliantness its no wonder so little was done about his delinquency. Even his fights with Shizuo. Like imagine being a teacher for him, and trying to inforce the rules, only to have the knowledge that some yakuza guy has got this kids back for whatever reason. "Oil barrels? I don't see no oil barrels?"

On one hand, no wonder he comes off as a little bratty, but can you blame him? You try being a teenage guardian to two younger sisters. I can see why he might have signed up for an easy route too. I know his parents might have sent him money, but how much of that would really help him? He's a student, if something else came along that allowed him to afford a babysitter I wouldn't blame him for taking the deal.

And imagine growing up where some of the only adults in your life were criminals.

There are so many things that tie into how fucked up he is.

Learning to draw digitally is like going back to doodling in my copy book at school. I mean, vaguely it looks ok, but then getting close up you start to see the beginner level mistakes. I don't want to go back and change them because I grew bored and impatient, and yet it's painful knowing I could have done better.
