So I came up with this new sims legacy challenge, i call it Wild apple tree. It consists of 10 generation and each gen has specifics to complete before moving forward. I haven't come up with the storyline between each generation just yet but other then that I think it's done. I feel i might have gotten a bit carried away and if i add more to each generation it might be a little to much but at the same time I feel it has room for improvement and new ideas so if anyone have any input please feel free to comment and let me know what you think.

Wild apple tree sims legacy challenge

Basic Rules

- Each generation must have an apple tree. It may be the founders tree and gets carried thru each generation or it can be a new tree but the new tree must grow from an apple off the last generations tree.

- Heir for each generation can be either gender unless stated other wise

- No money Cheats (optional)

- Color for each generation is optional

- May live where ever you choose unless location is specified.

- Each generation needs to complete their aspiration(all aspirations are whatever you choose)

- Must have the Career that is listed for each generation

- If you play this challenge and want to share please use #Wildappletree so it can be seen

** This legacy challenge is ofc for your entertainment, the number one goal is to have fun. If you choose not to follow any of the rules or you dont have the packs use then that is perfectly A ok and feel free to change things up however you prefer **

1.Blended family - Golden Orange

*Founder can be any gender

*Your founder must be a single parent

*He/she must marry another single parent

*Both single parents must have one or more kids from their previous relationships prior to meeting.

* After Marriage have at least one more child using science

*Next heir must be Science baby

*Next heir must have ambitious trait and do well in school

Career- Career of your choice to start

2. Science baby - Jonagold yellow

*Attend a university(which ever path you choose)

*Have only one child while In university

*Don't have another baby till you are an adult and ,half way through the Science Branch

*Master Logic Skill

*Master Robotics Skill (Optional)

*Master Rocket science

*Visit Sixam At least once

*Always join Next heir to high-school(Must meet future spouse)

Career- Scientist but of course

3.High school sweethearts - Pink Lady

*Heir must marry their High school sweetheart of course

*Try for baby every time you woohoo(optional)

*Have relationship fail but never divorce

*Heir alway attend the romantic festival

*Have a child from someone other then spouse after marriage(preferably a co-star)

*Try for baby with more then one sim in the same day/week

*One Sim must have a bad relationship with their children.

Career- Acting for both Heir and spouse (Must Join when ever they get a gig)

4.We're Adopting- Empire Purple

*First child must be from adoption (preferably as an infant)

* Must have at least one boy and one girl

* Next heir must be male ( can be the adopted sim)

*Live/ Move to sulani

*Master fishing

*Own at least 2 fish tanks

*Have your teens work as lifeguards

*Only leave the island to dig for bottles in Tartosa

*Best friend a mermaid

*Go diving at least once a week(Bonus finding mermaid kelp)

Career- Conservationist, the Marine Biologist Branch

5.Single dad - Cosmic Blue

*Live in an apartment

* Meet your girlfriend at a party or bar

*Must have a baby girl

*Have your girlfriend leave you after you have a girl.

*Must never marry or date again but Can woo-hoo around

*Must live with and have close relationship to adopted sibling. ( preferably both heir and next heir)

* Must Leave your daughter to be raised by your sibling before she becomes a teen.(you can choose to do this however you like.)

* you may have more then one child but your daughter must be next heir*

Career- Military Man (Either branch)

6.Raised by my aunt/uncle - Multi-colored Ambrosia

*Have a great relationship with your aunt/uncle

*Heir must be Female

*Heir starts this generation as a child

*Have a Bake sale as a child

*Have only one child by a one night stand(Can not take pregnancy test or keep trying with the same sim)

*Master Baking

*Sell your baked goods(You can do this with a yard sale table)

*Build your own bakery and work it part time(Optional)

*Cook Ambrosia(Optional)

Career- Critic career, Art Critic

7.Happy little accident - Fuji green

*Master painting skill

*Only paint landscape and photos you take(optional)

*Start an art club

*Have more then one baby

*Have loves outdoors trait

*Own at least one cat or dog

*Own at least 2 small pets (one must be a hedgehog)

*Own some chickens

*Have a drone to record and stream you when ever you are painting

*Upload your painting videos (Optional)

Career- Freelancer (Artist)

8.Soccer Mom/Dad - Arkansas Black and White

*Marry someone successful ( go dig for gold with this one)

*Must have at least 5 kids

*Travel at least once a week with all the kids for a fun day out ( just has to be somewhere outside of the house)

*Heir Can only make money from trendi (Other sims in the home can work however you choose including the children )

*Must help with any school project brought home and try to help with homework often

*Aspiration Super parent

*Celebrate all Holidays and birthdays

*Build a tree house

Career- Stay at home parent

9.Raised in a nursing home - Granny smith Grey

* Heir Must have more then one child

*Heir Must become Elder before last child becomes a teen

*All kids must be moved out once they hit young adults except the last child ( The Next Heir )

*When Heir is an elder they must rent rooms to at least 4 other Elders

*Have a game night ever Wednesday with the elders ( this includes bowling)

*Have dance night every Thursday with elders

*Master dancing

*Have Movie night every Friday (can be at home)

*Never have a real career( May make money any other way)

*Next heir can't move till they have at least 3 kids

Career- Job hop part time jobs. Call out of work at least once for each job. Quit/retire once you are an elder

10.Fullhouse - Red Delicious

*Must have at least 6 or more sims living together during the entire generation( 2 sims preferably Aunts/Uncles)

*Take a family vacation every season

*Throw a party every other weekend( Include at least one slumber party)

*Build a tree house

*Have Grandparents visit often(Include stay overs)

*2 Sims must master guitar

*All Sims must master comedy

*3 Sims must master singing

*1 Sim must master dj

Career- Entertainer(Both branches split between entire house)

"being distressed about an evil thought is what shows you're a good person" = bad, unhelpful, is not at all conducive to OCD recovery

"there's no such thing as a good or bad thought", "your thoughts do not define your morality", etc = good, helpful, acknowledges the fact that thoughtcrime isn't real

remember kids, implying that distress is what makes you a good person is NOT a good way to encourage people to build a life where they are able to learn to live alongside intrusive thoughts

The difference between liushen and bingqiu is that if shen yuan transmigrated into a healer, Liu qingge would go "I have to train harder so no one can hurt me. I don't want to add more to shen yuan's workload." Guess what time it is? It’s rant about Percy Weasley time!

No one will ever convince me that Percy wasn’t a spy during the war. There’s nothing in the canon sources that disproves this theory (not that I’d really care if there was, because I would just ignore it, but that’s neither here nor there). 

The only “evidence” that he wasn’t a spy is two quotes from the text. This one:

“What made you see sense, Perce?” inquired George.

“It’s been coming on for a while,” said Percy, mopping his eyes under his glasses with a corner of his traveling cloak. “But I had to find a way out and it’s not so easy at the Ministry, they’re imprisoning traitors all the time. I managed to make contact with Aberforth and he tipped me off ten minutes ago that Hogwarts was going to make a fight of it, so here I am.”

I’d argue that this quote actually supports him being a spy more than not. I don’t think he was a spy in the beginning (when he initially left his family), but rather became one later when he realized his mistake and the ramifications of what was happening. The text above shows that he couldn’t get out of the ministry, so he had two main options: accept what was going on and do nothing about it (I’ll talk more about that later) or become a spy to help the cause. 

The quote also says that he made contact with Aberforth, but it doesn’t say when. It says that Aberforth tipped him off ten minutes ago about the battle, but that doesn’t mean that they weren’t in contact before that (and in fact, it would be a very unlikely coincidence if the first time Percy reached out to Aberfoth just happened to be hours before the final battle). It’s vague about the initial contact date, so it’s highly possible that Percy has been feeding information to Aberfoth for months at that point. 

The other quote that people use to argue that Percy wasn’t a spy is this one:

“I was a fool!” Percy roared, so loudly that Lupin nearly dropped his photograph. 

“I was an idiot, I was a pompous prat, I was a – a –” 

“Ministry-loving, family-disowning, power-hungry moron,” said Fred. Percy swallowed. 

“Yes, I was!”

This doesn’t disprove that he was a spy. If he didn’t become one until later on (like I assume), then he would have still felt responsible for his choice to leave his family, so therefore, he still felt that the apology was necessary. Plus, they were about to fight in a major battle; they didn’t have an unlimited amount of time to discuss what they had all been up to, and that would not have been a quick conversation anyway. 

His family might not even believe him at first, and he had no proof of what he was saying (since spies usually only have 1 or 2 points of contact, and Aberforth was not in the same room at the time). He very possibly just wanted to reunite and mend bridges with his family before it was too late (because he knew he could die during this battle), and then he’d deal with the specific details later when they had time (if they survived). 

I also think it’s telling that Percy was able to keep his job as the personal assistant to the Minister of Magic even when death eaters took over the Ministry. Yes, Voldemort tried to keep the coup mostly silent, so he may have thought that keeping Percy as the assistant would help ease the transition, but it really wouldn’t have made a difference; no one was paying attention to whether or not the new Minister of Magic replaced the old assistant with someone he knew better. 

It’s also possible that the death eaters just didn’t see Percy as a threat, but that seems suspicious. They saw everyone as a threat, and as the assistant to the Minister, Percy’s position would have given him unique access to a lot of important information that Voldemort would not want to fall into the wrong hands. Percy may have been estranged from his family, but he was still related to practically half of the Order of the Phoenix, and the possibility that he would betray the death eaters by reconciling with his family and passing on sensitive information was an unnecessary risk, especially when they could have easily replaced him. 

So why did they keep him there if they didn’t have a good reason to trust his loyalty (in their minds)? I personally think it’s because Percy had to fake his devotion to the cause, and he clearly did so well enough for them to believe it. Earning your enemy’s trust is crucial for any spy, and it seems like Percy managed that. 

To touch back upon my earlier comment, Percy knew the death eaters had taken over the ministry by the 7th book - he even admitted it. He wanted out, but he couldn’t get out. So how do we know that he didn’t just stay quiet and keep his head down; that he didn’t just go with the status quo? Because that’s not Percy.

This is the same guy who took points away from his own house when someone broke the rules, because it was only fair and the right thing to do. It’s not just because he followed rules blindly (we know that he didn’t because he gambled over a Quidditch game in his 7th year). He was in a serious relationship with a muggle-born, and now the ministry is sending innocent muggle-borns to Azkaban, so there’s no way that he would consider that the “right” thing to do. 

Percy didn’t hesitate to run straight into danger during the Quidditch World Cup when there was an attack, despite the personal risk, and he clearly wasn’t hesitating to join the final battle against Voldemort either, even though he just said how dangerous it would be for him to be declared a traitor (in case the good guys lost). He is not a coward. 

Are you honestly telling me that he would just sit back and do nothing about the horrors being perpetrated because it was too risky? Nah, I’m not buying that.

In conclusion, I don’t care what JKR says - Percy was a spy, and she just didn’t bother to flesh out that storyline. 

I have this headcanon that the only reason why Yoda gave Anakin so much shit about his attachments was because he couldn't get through to any of the masters and needed someone to bitch around.

here are some fics that i've read in the last few months that broke my brain a little:

usher down the sky by mintchocochips dick and cass centric, set in the batman reborn era. stellar writing that captures their core truths so, so well: their shared ghosts of bruce and blüdhaven are always present and always aching

bleeding-heart doves by wraithwings cass and rose centric, set at a canon-divergent point in batgirl '08. fantastically evocative writing, amazing voices for both of them with some really visceral imagery. cass will actually break your heart unless rose does it first

objects in a mirror by clytemnestras short but gutting character study for babs, cass, helena and steph. each vignette is beautifully written and is so authentic to canon

door, opening by cowboysorceror multi-chapter case fic from jason's pov with a wonderful emphasis on his brotherhood with dick. amazing world-building and research seem to have gone into this fic and it's just so deliciously full of hauntings (still a wip but it's closing in on the conclusion)

abide the son by tnevmucric cass and dick centric vignette. the writing is so gorgeous and it's a very wonderful depiction of a less fraught dynamic between them

north star by starlingsinwinter desert baby arc from grayson '14 my absolute beloved. wonderfully poignant examination of the dick & bruce dynamic and a gorgeous insight into some core dick grayson-isms

incomplete/thoughts of total defeat by karples roy centric with a focus on donna and dick. absolutely adore the author's voice for roy and a gutting snapshot of the kind of demons that plagued roy in this era

Birdcage by nighhtwing (divineauthor) dick centric one-shot examining some of the spyral aftermath wrt bruce. this one will actually leave you physically sick because... he's really never going to recover from that kind of devotion, is he?

last light in a darkened room by bigdamnher0 tim and dick centric. case fic. the way tim and dick watch and see each other. tim's near palpable hunger for brotherhood versus dick's staticky performance buckling under the weight of tim drake's little brotherism. absolutely wonderful (warning for csa)

Some nights. by run_and_coke cass centric one-shot set in the current batgirl run, focusing on the civilian cast. absolutely wonderful voice for cass with a very authentic and snappy internal narration. gorgeous understanding of her character motivations
