You were eating with Daniel and Jay when Eli showed up. He was fidgeting with his fingers, shifting from his left leg to his right, avoiding your gaze. You look up at him confused by his behaviour, with none of his classmates around which was surprising, he seemed quite anxious and so, you quickly stand up, dragging him away without saying anything. You purposely ignored your friends calling out your name and leave the cafeteria, walking up the stairs to the rooftop, you remembered Eli saying it was the most comforting place for him at school.

In complete silence except for your harsh breathing after rushing up the stairs, you close the door behind you, making sure nobody was already on the rooftop for whatever reason. And after being sure it was empty, Eli sit down, dragging you with him, he opens his mouth to talk. But close it at the last second, as if no sound were able to come out, he was fighting with himself to say what he wanted to.

You can't help but feel bad, maybe he was not trusting you enough? You observe him in silence, but when he really starts to panic, you intertwined your hands, telling him to calm down and take his time.

He freezes on the spot, his cheeks reddening slowly, unable to meet your eyes. From his face, you could understand what it was about, he made the same expression when talking about his past. But it seems like he kept himself from telling you everything.

“Do you remember when I told you about Heather”

“Obviously. What are you trying to say, Eli?”

“I have a daughter.”

You sit there, on your spot unmovingly. You try to see if it is a joke, but his serious expression told you the opposite. It takes some minutes for you to comprehend and assimilate the information. Before a thought cross your mind.

“Wait, wait. Who takes care of her when you're working?!”

“That's what I wanted to talk to you about… Do you mind-”

“When? When do you need me to babysit her?

Poor baby, being alone for nights…”

You were already trying to imagine what she was looking like, excited like a child about his new plush toy. You can see Eli's smile widen before taking out his wallet and showing you a picture of him holding his daughter in his arms. An arrow is shot through your heart instantly, she was too adorable for you. And Eli could only watch you die from cuteness for his daughter, asking him her name, age, what she liked, and what toys should you buy.

And that's how the same afternoon, you were knocking at Eli's door before he leaves for his work shift. It was clear that he was a bit afraid of leaving her, but you try to reassure him the best you could. Since she was only 3, she was so small in your arms, and you could only coo at her, holding her fragile body so delicately.

When you notice that Eli was still here, you push him toward the door, Yenna still in your arms. With his two feet finally out of the apartment, you lower your head to kiss his nose before slamming the door in his face. Yenna was giggling in your arms, playing with your fingers with one hand, while mimicking you slamming the door with the other. As you head to the kitchen to cook for her, you hear someone just outside at the door scream for a second before everything becomes quiet again. You snicker with Yenna while placing her on a high chair, letting her point to whatever she wanted to eat.

You notice how she wasn't pointing to vegetables at all and let out a laugh, seems like she is the same as her father. To distract her, you took her favourite plush toy and made her play with it as you cut rapidly the vegetables, hoping she will not notice it.

As you place the plate in front of her, waiting to see if she will like it. You stand there, nervous about the opinion of a child about a meal. Thankfully, you remember what Eli told you the other day about her favourite food, so you were able to make her something she should like. And finally, you hear her giggle, giving you a big smile.

“Thank you, dad!”

You knew 3 years old children were starting to make small sentences, but you got really surprised when she called you that way. You tried to explain to her that you aren't Eli, but it seems like she was not as confused as you thought at first. She points at a picture of her and Eli, saying 'daddy' and then pointing at you, saying 'dad'.

“Oh… Then yes, I am your dad.”

With a soft laugh, you watch her eyes light up, and she giggles while holding your hand. You take the time to clean the side of her mouth with a napkin before playing with her, even allowing her to draw on your arms, make some construction together or watch the birds outside.

You notice how it was too late to let her have a nap now, or else, she would be unable to sleep this night, and you don't want to be responsible for the sleepless night Eli would have. So instead, you entertained her the best you could, hoping to tire her out, while playing you even manage to make her learn some new words.

The sun has settled down already when you finished reading her a story, you could hear her yawn for a little while now. So, you helped her change into a cute pyjama, brush her teeth and spend some minutes cleaning the mess you made.

And now, you were finally able to put Yenna to bed, kissing her gently on the forehead, making her giggle. She extends her arms toward you with the cutest smile you have ever seen.

“Love… dad”

You choke on your saliva at what she said, cheeks burning as you watch her fall asleep innocently. You feel your heart melt at her cuteness, and in silence, you place her plushie beside her before closing the door gently. You just had the time to sit down on the couch, feeling exhausted when you hear the door open.

You throw your head backwards to make sure it was Eli coming back, which said male offered you a warm smile before looking confused, looking left and right.

“I already put her to bed. She's asleep.”

His eyes widen for a second before nodding in silence, you observe him take off his coat and shoes before walking in your direction, stopping in front of you, with his stomach directly in front of your eyes. But you focus back on his face with a smile, as you maintain the eye contact a bit longer before standing up straight.

You hear Eli shuffling inside his pockets, before taking out his wallet. As he was going to take out money, you grab it and place it on the counter, with an amused smirk you walk closer to him. You place your hands on his waist before leaning a little closer.

“I did a good job babysitting Yenna, right?

So… how about you give me my reward.”

You observe his expression going from confusion to a flustered state, placing his hands over your mouth, efficiently shutting you up. You could hear his heart beat loudly, his eyes darting back and forth, to avoid yours. As you wait for him to calm down, he suddenly removes his hand, stepping closer to you and the only thing you could hear was his shaky breaths. You watch him raise his arms, placing them around your shoulders before leaning in, your eyes met, and a strange feeling cursed through your body, but before anything could happen

A loud cry stops you.

Both your heads shot up, recognizing Yenna's voice, Eli was quicker than you to run to her room, slamming the door open. You follow close behind but stop when you see her crying in her bed, holding out her hands for someone to pick her up. Asking for 'dad'.

Eli picks her up gently, rocking her tenderly, but she doesn't stop crying, repeating 'dad' over and over.

“Daddy is here, Yenna.”

“No! Want dad!”

And you freeze on the spot when you see her hold out her arm in your direction. Eli was standing still, dumbfounded. The second you took her in your arms, she stopped crying, big doe eyes looking up at you with a smile. You can't help but snicker at the stunned expression Eli was showing you while tucking Yenna back into the bed. But before you could leave the room, she calls out for you again, asking for a hug.

And that's how you ended up sleeping with Yenna, holding her protectively while Eli was sulking in the corner, watching his daughter call someone else 'dad' breaking his heart. Even if a familiar feeling was warming up his heart at the thought that Yenna was calling you 'dad'.

Sensing he was starting to become a bit grumpy, you motion for him to join you in bed, moving over to leave him some space. With your arms wrapped around Eli's waist and Yenna sleeping in the middle of the two of you, you both fall asleep with a gentle smile on your face. Your mind is at peace as Yenna's hands hold her dads' shirts.

There's two scenario, one where you met him before he had children and one where you met after he had children.

Before he had his children.

This man, this man. He was an absolute pucker asshole.

And you didn't know why he was absolutely enamored with you.

He would follow you wherever you went, and it was really annoying you.

But you also know it was dangerous it was for you, this man was apart of gang, specifically the one that's well known around Seoul.

That's why you didn't want to get involved with him in anyway, you don't want put yourself in grave danger.

But he was persistent, always staying by your side and over time, you go used to him following you.

And you quite got fond of him, considering how lonely you would be sometimes, it was nice that you have someone by your side.

But you never would admit out loud, in fear of getting tease by Jichang.

But how did the two of you ended up dating? Well...

Jichang had asked you out on a date and you agreed, and after a few more dates. You two eventually ended up dating.

And what's it like dating him?

He's a patient young man, and he won't ready to beat someone if they ever hurt you or trying to be a little pervert towards you.

He's very kind and try to be understanding towards you, if there's something you completely disagree on whatever he's doing. Jichang will try to do less of that but knows he can't get away from where he was shapes from.

And you, you were scared of him getting hurt even though he's part of a gang. It still scares you, him never coming back one day.

So you two always spend time together, whenever you two had the time.

If the two of you ever got into a argument, he would not raise his voice at you. He would speak calmly and try to reason to you.

If he was the one at fault, he would try and sincerely apologize to you or give you some space before trying to apologize to you, but if it was you, then he would give you space and wait or he will be one to talk about it to you.

But if both of you are in the wrong then, the two of you would talk to each other about it and apologize to each other.

If you had a bad day, he would put a date just for the two of you.

If someone ever made you upset, Jichang will surely be having a "talk" with them.

Since Jichang is part of a gang, it's obvious that he made a lot of enemies. He is scared to leave you alone, thinking you would get ambushed and get kidnapped by their rival.

It was his worst nightmare, Jichang didn't want to put you in danger.

So he had thoughts of leaving you for your safety, but you always reassured him that you were okay with it. As long he comes back home and into your arms once again.

After years of being together, you two got married.

So, the three promised to not worry you so they try to come back home with less injuries. so that's why they bathe in medical soup?

When he had his children.

You were teacher that moved into the countryside, you were assigned there as you previously had teach in Seoul.

It was a nice change of scenery, the locals were nice and very welcoming.

And that's where you met his son Jihan, you were his homeroom teacher.

And you were worried since he was coming to school and it's not like you can ask his brother.

It was well known in the school that the two bothers are notorious and doesn't take study seriously.

But you were determined to put both of the boys back to school, once again.

So you went to their house and met their father.

After you told him what was happening, he was quite embarrassed and apologize to you for his son's behavior.

While you were weirded out at the fact that the brother's father is a police and considering on how much you heard about the two, you wondered on what happened.

After that interaction, you began to see more and more of the brothers at school.

And sometimes you would see Jichang whenever you would go out for a walk and to get groceries.

You had fun talking with him, hanging out with him.

But you never knew what he was really doing especially.

After awhile, Jichang asked you out.

It you by surprise but you agreed.

Jihan and Jibeom teased their dad about it after they heard that he had asked you out.

Which ended the two getting a chop in the head by their father.

After a few more dates, you ended up dating.

And since you were Jichang partner, many people were looking after you secretly, from the words from Jichang himself and as well as his sons.

Wanting to make you sure you were safe.

A funny story actually.

When one day, you were staying at the Kwak household for dinner.

You were cooking dinner for the four of you, when Jibeom walked inside the kitchen while looking for something, you asked him what he was looking and when he answered. You had handed him what he was looking for you.

He then said. "Thank you mom/dad."

Both of you were frozen as the two of you could hear Jihan chuckle from the living room.

So yeah.. Jichang did hear about that incident from Jihan.

Now, Jichang was now thinking of proposing into you but you weren't ready for marriage yet.

So he was just waiting for the perfect time.
