Moon in the 8th House - My Mother was a Witch
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep,
If I should die before I ‘wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take
Moon in the 8th is the heirloom of a feminine ancestry beholding great magic, sorcery, and psychic activity. Her ghosts are insomniacs and the dreams are rich with profound symbolism eclipsed and concealed by the daylight. The Moon is exiled and dead in the 8th house, and such intrusive volatility can be at conflict with raw sensitivity. The unconscious performs ceremonial rituals through rising and demonstrating the emotional experience. These tears build acid rain, she sends hexes and charms in the direction of her emotion. These experiences may begin as an icy cold feeling or mood that emulsifies with heat until she is emotionally burning inside. She is contaminated by the dead past she carries imbedded within her, anything that makes close enough contact to leak isn’t doesn’t dissolve without being acknowledged and evaporated in the bleached conscious light. The weapons sourced from her wounds intended for her betrayer are double-edged swords, and instead they turn inward and enmesh through internal conditioning that she is inherently bad, void, invisible, depraved, or even that she harbours a darker force inside. Her emotions grow alongside her with life, ageing centuries in the span of years through immense transformations. She is plunged into the thick black of the chrysalis and left for dead to overcome dark nights trapped beside the screaming imprisoned soul, until she is born again with new wings. Socially, she may appear to be impartial or non invasive, but her instinct constantly claws at the surface and provokes for signs of danger or repeated deceit. Interpersonal emotions are read with a divine rod that exposes skeletons and secrets before her, she dissects the hidden seams of her company with the precision of a spiritual psychiatrist. But she padlocks her own secret diary with a much more complex code, she will rarely reveal a single layer of vulnerability without the undying trust that she will not burn again in the same way. There is a lure to the occult with Moon in the 8th, rather focused toward healing and light work. The individual may also recite old wives tales and superstitions and keep these sacred riddles alive.
