Just saw the Be Alone video! Lots of mysterious happenings but I'll resist pelting you with lore questions.

I'm curious regarding the rap verses and the chorus. The verses are full of a lot of anger and a call to action, while the chorus is more a reaction of feeling overwhelmed and scared, with a vibe more like denial: "I don't want to be here. I don't want to see this." Am I misreading that?

That’s totally the right read! It’s in many ways an attempt to encapsulate the feeling of overwhelming dread and enormity of horror as well as the desire for escape from fear and isolation that is affecting so many of us right now (and was similarly present when we wrote it a few years ago).

We pretty much knew Kirby and the Forgotten Land wasn't going to be properly post-apocalyptic, because while Kirby does routinely fight elder gods, they never actually get to succeed in eradicating all life, but I feel like Nintendo's workaround of "everything is deserted because a high-tech human civilisation captured an alien god, tortured its secrets from it, achieved some sort of post-human singularity and ascended en masse to a higher plane of existence, abandoning their uplifted animal servants to inherit the empty world they left behind" is kind of more fucked up than if everything had just gotten blown up.

I working on other projects atm but I’ll be going back and cleaning this up later bc I love this scene so so much

If you hadn’t noticed, I’m still trying out stuff with colors. ;P

I COULDN’T AGREE MORE. The body language is on point. Plus the fact that he didn’t attend the funeral… There seems to be foreshadowing about his character in this tiny sequence. Was he super close to Kaufmo? Does he know something about his abstraction that others do not? Am I looking too deeply into lore???

Jax said nothing in this scene and yet, so far, it speaks the most about his character.
