Tony, maybe this might not be the time. Really? That’s it?
New X-Men entry in The Marvel Art of Skottie Young
Some interesting trivia:
- He gave Julian longer hair so he looks more like a rebel
- His last two issues were him channeling his anger over getting snubbed from working on Messiah Complex. Despite Marvel promising him initially he would be illustrating NXM part of the event, he was at the last minute replaced by Humberto Ramos. It made him realize that he always seemed to get the “B” book but never the main one. It wasn’t just that he would get NXM instead of adult X-Men but also Human Torch but not Fantastic Four or Venom but not Spider-Man.
- Accordng to him, the editors told him Pixie’s age during Quest for Magik was 12 years old. Which makes all artists ever since who drew her looking like an adult (Greg Land) and stories that clearly assume she is older…kinda creepy.
