A Transformation Playing Card Deck
Illustrated by Countess von Jenison-Walworth
The inspiration for the theme of this pack of cards, originally published in Tübingen, Germany in 1805, could well have been Friedrich Schiller’s play, The Maid of Orleans (German: Die Jungfrau von Orleans) a tragedy, first performed in Leipzig, Germany on 11 September 1801 and hugely popular. The play loosely follows the life of Joan of Arc.
From Jugend, 1900.

I know you’re out there. I can feel you now. I know that you’re afraid… you’re afraid of us. You’re afraid of change. I don’t know the future. I didn’t come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it’s going to begin. THE MATRIX | 1999
