WATSON'S SKETCHBOOK VOL 1 is available to purchase! 178 pages of black and white comics, illustrations, and occasional essays on Victorian queerness, covering the Watson's Sketchbook story from A STUDY IN SCARLET through SECOND INTERLUDE. Many of the comics have been updated and cleaned up from their online versions. Also they are signed and I drew a little guy inside!

"First meeting" from the BSJ Fall 2012 issue
There's an open pit in the middle of our office plan that drops down into a bunch of very sharp spikes that kill you instantly. This is bad. People keep falling in there and dying. Someone put a sign up, the other day, all bright yellow so you can't miss it, that says "Beware!!! Spikes!!!"
The office immediately split into two factions over it. One says that if anyone falls in the spike pit it's their own fault for being so stupid and not watching where they're walking, so we should remove the sign. The other says that the sign is an insult, there shouldn't be a spike pit in our office at all, and having the sign up like that is just normalising the existence of the spike pit, so we should remove the sign.
We ended up removing the sign. Probably for the better. Still... for a while there it looked like it might have worked...

It’s so funny to me that every time Watson stays to help with a case and sits down and gets his gay little notebook out, none of their clients are like “Wait a second. Are you gonna publish all of my personal business in the fucking Strand???”
I find it hard to call Holmes and Watson by their first names because. Like. They aren’t my friends. They’re my strange little creatures that I observe in their little environment with a magnifying glass.
@cactisays Made me think of you <3 (you're the cooler one)
Truest Holmes & Watson dynamic is them being fangirls for each other. I believe this.
Mila is ready for big adventures, despite her tiny size. To prepare for those adventures, she picked out her perfect companion outfit, playful glittery short-alls and a cozy hooded cardi.
