I Had A Client Recently Ask Me To Make A Steampunk Mechanical Bee For Her And Gave Me A Photo Of A Tattoo

I had a client recently ask me to make a steampunk mechanical bee for her and gave me a photo of a tattoo for reference. This is the result. The wings were a problem as I wanted them light. I ended up cutting down two brass pendant bases and filling them with UV resin. They then had to be sanded back to the brass and finally polished. I was aiming on transparent but the frosting works. Her body is an old brass electrical terminal cut to fit. Her wire legs are threaded through the body for security. The crimps are for effect and to stop the feet scratching if worn as a pendant.

She also contains an assortment of gears, pinions, screws, bolts, rivets, an electrical probe is her "stinger" and her wire antenna do rotate. I hope the client likes her but if not I'll try again. I've already had interest so she will sell either way.

A loud knocking erupted throughout the room, causing the girl to jolt awake. With blurry eyes she peered at her clock and scoffed when she saw what time it read- 3:32 am. Who the hell was knocking on her door at this time? She groaned as she swung her bare legs over the side of the bed, the knocking growing more and more frequent.

“Yes I’m coming!” She snapped as she pushed open her bedroom door, stumbling slightly through her apartment.

‘I swear, if this is some prank I’m gonna be pissed’ She thought to herself as she finally reached her front door and she pulled it open, ready to yell at the teenager on the other side. However, that wasn’t the case.

“M-misa?” She stuttered out, ushering the girl inside immediately. Misa looked like a total wreck if she was being honest. Her mascara was smudged, black trails streaming down her pale face. Her bright eyes puffy. She had been crying by the looks of things, and that just made her more concerned.

“What happened?” (Y/N) asked softly as she steered the girl towards her couch, and soft sobs erupted from her red lips. You see, the two were best friends- had been for many years now, and they were always there for each other. (Y/N) had her back when her parents were killed, and Misa was there for her whenever she experienced any issues. And safe to say over their years of friendship, the h/c haired girl had accumulated quite a big crush on her close friend.

“Light!” Was all Misa could say as she threw herself against (Y/N)’s chest, her cries filling the small apartment. Oh and another thing, (Y/N) absolutely hated Light. He was a self absorbed prick who was using Misa for her loyalty and powers- and that pissed her off.

“What did he do this time?” She whispered as she rubbed her friends back, and she finally calmed down enough to form a simple sentence.

“H-he called me an idiot with a painted face, who was good for nothing but entertainment. He kicked me out!” Misa exclaimed as she rubbed at her tear stained cheeks- and (Y/N) could feel the anger bubbling inside her. He was always mistreating her: hell, she’d even call it abuse. But Misa refused to leave. With a sigh, (Y/N) jumped up from the couch and reached a hand towards her blonde friend.

“C’mon, I’ll get you some clean clothes. Go have a shower and you can crash here tonight” She mumbled as she pointed towards her bathroom, and Misa sent her a small smile.

“Thank you” The blonde whispered, and she placed a soft kiss on her cheek before heading into the bathroom. All (Y/N) could do was watch silently as she disappeared, cussing at herself when she heard the shower turn on. Misa would never leave his side, that much was certain. She was doomed to watch as her best friend…the love of her live was destroyed. To Misa- she was loved, that was all that mattered.
