Hi everyone!

I finally got this done! And just in time for Transformers One to come out (PLEASE GO SEE IT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY).

A few months ago I was hell-bent on learning how to storyboard and this was my first attempt! Of course I used my obsession as practice lol. I hope to post more animatic attempts in future, but with the new job things have been slow.....er....slower (being another cog in the machine is time consuming, what can I say?)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed!

"Hiccup the right brained wild dragon boy" Hiccup the grounded, awkward, left-brained human dude who is snappy and sarcastic and quick to the draw, who can stand firm on the ground.

Hiccup, who wants to be rough yet jokes and ribs when others are smelly and violent, when they are messy and wild and pull pranks and roll around like animals, who walks with set shoulders, who isn't smooth, isn't at all like his mother in the way she crouches and crawls and rattles hollow bones with hunched shoulders, who can't connect to dragons so easy- not at her level, in a way that seems nearly supernatural, nonhuman- yet somehow he finds a way to make up for that, joking and speaking to his dragon as if he himself is a man.

Hiccup, who seems more comfortable in the forge than on his own two feet, who had to learn to have empathy for dragons, something which came natural to her.

Hiccup, who needs people too, who is able to connect with them in the same way his mother can't, who wants others the same way she is pushed away from them, both different in completely opposite ways, one more human than anyone just as the other is more dragon than man.

Hiccup is a human first and a dragon rider second which is exactly the kind of trait that allowed him to bond with Toothless in the first place, the same kind of trait that allowed him to make Berk better. Valka is a dragon first and a human second which was what made her such a good member of the dragon sanctuary.

Hiccup makes dragons human while Valka becomes a dragon herself.

We know now that Merlin cut off Morgana’s hand and forearm and melted it down to infuse it into the metal parts of the Amulet of Daylight. (Were they already enemies by that point, or was that the final straw that made them official enemies?)

Maybe the hand was supposed to give the Trollhunter resistance to Morgana’s magic?

Angor Rot could not harm whoever wore the Inferna Copula, made of his flesh and containing his soul (though that didn’t somehow stop him from smashing the ring when nobody was wearing it - maybe because that was an accident). Angor’s eye is put in the amulet to counteract Angor Rot’s magic, and the Triumbric Stones (at least one of which was once physically part of Gunmar) are used by the Trollhunter to resist Gunmar’s mind control and create the Eclipse Sword, which is implied by the narrative to be the only thing able to kill Gunmar. 

I suspect the arm in the amulet was supposed to be more of the same.

(Also, there’s clearly part of her arm being melted in that cauldron, but since she screams, “He took my left hand!” rather than “He took my left arm!”, the cut was probably made below the elbow joint. Cosplayers, make a note.)
