I am Heba Al-Dahdouh. I currently live in the completely destroyed city of Gaza. Since the war on Gaza began on 7/1/2024, my family- my father Nasif, my mother Asmaa, and my siblings Khaled, Ahmad, Muhammad, and Malak-have been living in constant fear, crying, and suffering due to shrapnel, shells, and bullets.
We have no food, no electricity, no cooking gas, no schools, no homes, no cleaning supplies, and no clothes. My school has been bombed, and my brother Khaled's university is now rubble, depriving us all of education. The war has forced us to live in displacement centers, which are just tents unsuitable for living, especially in winter.
Every day we live death, terror, and panic a thousand times because of the ongoing bombardment of my city. The war has killed more than 50 of my relatives and neighbors. At the start of the war, we sought refuge at my aunt's house, . Imagine: we have survived imminent death more than 20 times and have been displaced among shelters more than 13 times. My siblings and I have suffered from many illnesses due to malnutrition, and we need medication continuously.
If we stay in Gaza, we might lose our lives. Recently, we have been seriously considering leaving Gaza for a safe place. However, travel costs are extremely high. We need over $50,000 to leave Gaza. Due to exorbitant prices, rampant unemployment, lack of security, the ongoing siege, and relentless bombardment, we have lost all our money. How can we live in such insecurity, with constant shelling and shrapnel flying above us? Dear compassionate friends around the world,

this is a weird request. can you help a transman and their wife move out of a controlling parent's grasp and out of a red state?
spoiler alert: its not even our parents.
we moved in with a friend because he made the mistake of buying a house when he didn't have the means to and needed help paying for bills, and we needed to move into a place that let us live in more than just a single room.
now we're constantly harassed by his parents because they think he shouldn't have let us move in and should have let someone of their own choosing move in. they go through our stuff, and weekly visits to "clean" because they think we're all incompetent and dig their noses into places they shouldn't be. Just today they introduced new potential housemates without warning or any communication, and just before that they stormed our storage room and began organizing and cleaning it without asking or warning. We cannot go back to being shoved into a single room again.
With the upcoming political climate, living as a afab trans POC (and native, at that) in a red state like South Carolina is going to be insanely dangerous. I've already been preached to, I've already been harassed at work, and it's dangerous for us to even live in the area we do, since the further from downtown you are, the more red it gets. and we're at the edge of the county.
I know there's a lot of GFMs going around right now, but we aren't in a safe spot, and we have friends in northeast that might help us. We just don't have the means to get there.

horrible news, everyone - while we were able to get samah all of the money for the urgent treatment for her son, her baby had to be transferred to a cardiology hospital that specialises in heart care.
staying at this hospital, in addition to the tests he has had to undergo, costs an additional $550 - an amount she once again isn't able to pay

fidaa is a 29 year old woman from gaza with two very young children, muhammed and sila, one of whom was born during the war. her home was destroyed and sheโs been displaced many times, and is currently separated from the rest of her family- her husband, her many siblings, and her parents. i can only imagine how nerve-wracking this is.
sheโs doing her best to take care of her children by herself, despite facing hunger, thirst, widespread disease, and the threat of death. the other day, there was intense bombing near her and another family close to her was killed. life in gaza right now is hell and she told me they feel like they are just waiting for their turn to die.
fidaa and i talk often, and i feel lucky to know her. sheโs an incredibly strong person, she travels long distances to find limited supplies for her kids and helps her siblings raise money even though shes separated from them.

Our Story: A Family's Journey Through War
My name is Mounir, and I am part of a family of seven. We used to live a simple life in Gaza, before the war changed everything.
My father, Raed (47), my mother, Amani (39), my older sisters, Rasha (22), who is married, and Rana (21), who is also married, my brother Mohamed (16), and my little sister Sham (4), we all dreamed of a safe and stable life.
When the war began, we were forced to leave our home due to heavy shelling nearby.
We took shelter in the shop that was our only source of incomeโ a sanitary supplies shop where my father, brother, and I worked.
We could only stay one night before leaflets were dropped from airplanes ordering a full evacuation of the area. We had no choice but to move to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, where we lived in a tent for a week.
Then, another evacuation order came, and we were told to head south of Gaza.
With no relatives to take us in, we ended up in an unfinished school building in the central area.
The 90 days we spent there were the hardest of our livesโ no water, no food, and nothing fit for human life. We had to walk more than 1.5 kilometers just to buy a small amount of food to keep us alive.
After this long ordeal, another evacuation order came, but before we could leave, the school was bombed.
It was terrifyingโ we narrowly escaped death, leaving everything behind.
We fled to Rafah, a place that seemed safer at first, but there too, we found no shelter.
We had to live in a tent, in the freezing winter cold.
We had no way to keep warm, and we nearly froze to death.
My mother, who suffers from chronic asthma, was in a dire situation because we couldnโt find her medications.
She ran out of the medicine that helps her breathe, and she started having painful attacks.
This is one of the many types of medicine that you use, but there is none of it because it has run out
The smoke from the fire we used for cooking and the terrible smell from the lack of sanitation in the school made her condition worse.
My little sister Sham is also suffering from skin rashes due to the unsanitary conditions, and she has diarrhea and vomiting because the drinking water is contaminated.
We are living in inhumane conditions, and we donโt even have the clothes we need to survive the coming winter.๐ฅถ(๐งฅโ)
My brother Mohamed and I carry a heavy burdenโ we fetch water from faraway places, and we search for food to ease our hunger.
My married sisters and their small children are also in desperate need of baby formula, clothes, and diapers.
Even the food that reaches us in the school from charity kitchens is barely edible due to poor cooking.๐คข

Hello, My name is Ahmad Mohammed Hassan Salah, a 33-year-old man from Gaza, Palestine. Under the sky of Gaza, amidst the war and shelling, begins my story. I lived my life in the northern part of Gaza with my wife and three children, dreaming of a secure future for my small family. Nada, my seven-year-old eldest daughter, loves to draw, though her colors have disappeared amid the rubble ๐จ๐. Mohamed, my five-year-old son, still dreams of playing in a garden untouched by bombs ๐๐. As for Huda, my two-year-old, she has started uttering her first words amid the sounds of explosions ๐ผ๐.
The tragedy began one night of the war when I was forced to leave my home under continuous bombardment ๐ฃ๐. I carried my children and my anxious wife, running through the debris and darkness in search of a safe haven ๐ช๏ธ. Our journey was fraught with dangers, as we left everything behind: our home, memories, and even our money and food ๐๏ธ๐. After a long journey, we found ourselves in southern Gaza, where we set up a small tent as a temporary refuge โบ๐.
The tent, small as it was, became our new world. Without mattresses to shield us from the cold nights or blankets to protect us from the rain ๐ง๏ธโ๏ธ, life was harsh. The children slept on the ground, and I struggled to provide any food to feed my family ๐๐. But the war showed us no mercy. After only three months, we were forced to move once again, this time to central Gaza. The Israeli army described it as a "safe zone," but the shelling followed us like an unrelenting shadow ๐๐ฃ.
More than a year has passed, and my family and I continue to live under bombardment and destruction ๐๐. Each day brings with it a new story of suffering.
