OH MY GOD
Some mistynat art cus I'm obsessed
they're both about to learn that two things can be true
"i bet he thinks we're hookers!" — (based on this prompt)
nat just casually accepted and assumed that mistys going wherever she goes with her RIGHT AFTER she admitted to impersonate nat to manipulate kevyn... she has such a soft spot for her theyre so cute
AND WE'RE FINALLY GETTING SOME ANSWERS SOON!!!! I FEEL SO BLESSED THAT IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED I WAS SCARED THEY WERE JUST GOING TO KEEP GOING AND NOT EXPLAIN THE WHOLE THING.... #MISTYNAT TRUTHERS WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE!!! S4 WILL BE OUR SEASON!!!
not that connected to the shipp itself (even tho im actually expecting this to be shipp related) but i think a must for s4 that they give us some development on mistynat post rescue. this giant gap between their relationship in the teen x adult timeline doesn't really add up....
in the start of season one we have an overview of why the girls find misty so weird and exclude her from the group (the whole situation with ben + the poisoning + etc), meanwhile we see the adults acting on it as if it was the reason why they treat her like a freak.
BUT the thing is that currently on season 3 misty is kind of accepted again in some way (we can see a bit of it at the trial scene, specially the way nat treats her), so what really happened between her and all the girls so they just disappeared on her for 25 years even tho she tried to keep contact with them?
did ALL the girls really ignored her or did something happen between her and natalie? why did they both had such a weird ass horny reaction when they met up again? why aren't shauna and tai that surprised when nat says misty was helping her with the whole travis thing? and most importantly, why didn't misty go after natalie before??
anyways, just some things ive been thinking about. #brainrot
heartwarming! the kindest person you've ever trauma bonded with not only knows your ugliest secret but she also kept it for decades and even forgave you a little bit and also kinda desires you carnally and sees your value as a person and even identifies with you on a fundamental level! which maybe might mean you are not completely bad and unlovable! sure she'll die a stupid pointless death at your hand mere hours after you got her back but in the cruel and punishing universe you live in this is the closest thing to real love and true forgiveness you're ever gonna get! and you both know that!
mistynat is so great bc without misty we are just left with a natalie who is shakespearean levels of tragic. just leading an absolutely miserable existence. all the universe does is chew her up and spit her out over and over. unbearable. which is perhaps precisely why they gave her misty, a ridiculous and offputting poodle of a woman with no sense of action -> consequence. she makes nat's life miserable too, often in the deadliest ways possible, but her mere presence in nat's life is so goofy and absurd that it somehow becomes a relief from the usual torments. at least with misty nat's in a codependent buddy comedy on top of the eternal suffering. samuel beckett style. plus christina ricci has a great rack
I asked him that, Nat.
"back when-" BACK WHEN THEY WORKED TOGETHER TO FIX THE TRANSMITTER AND GOT THE RESCUE AND FELL IN LOVE
“…I think secretly Natalie’s loves Misty. What if they had a relationship back when?”
MISTYNAT WIN !!!!
ive been trying to distract myself from what happened to van at this episode so heres my theory about what's happening next in the teen timeline:
we're finally heading to the point we knew was coming - the explanations of misty and natalies relationship, their partnership, why is misty so devoted to natalie and why natalie just lets her.
since we saw that she's currently the only one who knows misty has (and possibly broke) the transmitter while being one of the few people in the group that actually really wants to go back, i think natalies gonna be divided between the anger and the betrayal about what misty did but also hope about the fact that she may be able to fix it and they can finally go home after she almost lost all of her hopes when the bear guy died. also, i think nat must know that if she tells anyone about it they may kill misty AND not even try to fix the transmitter.
that said, i believe we're finally going to see more of their dynamic in ep10 + first episodes of season 4, where, together, both secretly try to fix what hannah broke and manage to call someone while the rest of the group is fighting and hunting - that's when the rescue actually comes. also, i do think maybe van and travis may find out about it (?) 😀
if nat and misty are able to actually get the rescue it would explain why tai feels so responsible for her and is always paying stuff for her.
this whole thing would also explain why misty is so loyal to nat and why she does have a soft spot for misty cause what if she kept that secret for 25 years ? anyways... #sendingtotheuniverse
going to uni while listening to music and suddenly "i want you to love me" by fiona apple starts playing. now im thinking of how this song works so well as a love letter from misty to nat #theyreeverywhere
it makes me so sad whenever i think about misty saying “she’s my best friend, she wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye,” and then crying in nat’s empty motel room when she thinks that she did.
especially since, if lottie hadn’t taken nat hostage, natalie would have left without saying goodbye. and it would’ve been under far worse circumstances.
misty saying “i knew it,” when she realizes the door was broken down, and later scoffing when lottie tells misty nat tried to kill herself…
misty telling lottie “i don’t believe that,” because she’s thinking natalie wouldn’t do that to her; she wouldn’t leave her like that…
nat wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye.
i don’t think natalie ever realized that her suicide would’ve had the same exact impact on misty as travis’s did on her. i don’t think nat ever realized how deeply misty’s love for her really ran.
just realized that the two moments when misty actually cries and has a breakdown in the adult timeline are because of nat
#killingmyself
summer days
just saw someone on twitter saying that they cut a scene where misty slaps natalie in the cocaine scene and immediately went to check - i feel SO ROBBED!!!
