we cant let this happen.

🚨🚨🚨

today is Nov. 15. the FCC, under chairman Ajit Pai, will not listen to the public despite millions of comments in support of net neutrality. They are going to try their hardest to kill net neutrality, which in turn will kill the internet, which in turn will help eradicate democracy. it won’t just affect Americans, it has the potential to affect the entire internet, something we ALL use daily. you can bet your ass other countries will see america doing this, and use it as an excuse to do it in their own countries.

this is what buying a plan without net neutrality looks like there:

🚨🚨🚨

you have to pay MORE for features you’re already guaranteed to have under net neutrality. and in america, you already know how expensive everything is.

democrats AND republicans both want net neutrality. advocacy groups in touch with congress have said that if your members of congress receive calls from you, they are more encouraged and more likely to take action to stop Pai’s plan to gut net neutrality. after Nov. 22, it will be MUCH HARDER to convince your member of congress.

please, call them. call them daily.

What is net neutrality?

So Anon, I am very glad you asked this! Net Neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites. So, say you pay $19.99 a month for Internet right? All websites are included in that one price. You get Google, YouTube, Tumblr, and every other website for free after you pay the base coverage of $19.99 a month. However, Ajit Pai is trying to eliminate net neutrality, so companies that offer Internet service (Verizon as an example) can charge extra for websites and other applications on the Internet. So, again, say you pay $19.99 a month for Internet right? Well you only get a limited number of websites you can go on that are maintained and mandated by your Internet provider. So you wanna go on YouTube? Oh you have to by an extra $6.99 a month for that. You wanna go to academic websites for research? An extra $7.99 for that. You wanna go on Tumblr and Deviant art and AO3? Extra $4.99 a month for that. So without net neutrality, we are going to pay extra for websites that we use commonly everyday.Imagine having to pay extra to your Internet provider just to write a college paper. Imagine paying extra to seek therapeutic help through crisis websites for suicide and anxiety. Imagine having to pay extra just to express yourself online and keep our 1st Amendment, that we have freedom of speech and expression. These are just a few if the reasons why I myself am against it. Of course there are articles everywhere making the debate whether or not we should eliminate net neutrality. I’d highly recommend reading up on some of the articles, as they are informative, eye-opening, and have a clear basis as to what will happen if the government does vote to eliminate net neutrality.Hope this helps Anon!!!! -Admin Germane :3

I cannot stress enough how dangerous KOSA is.

killing safe spaces endangers people's lives. many minors and people in marginalized groups losing online friends and spaces can and will kill many people's happiness and in the worst case, the will to live.

I personally keep going because of my online friends. I will lose them if KOSA passes.

this is the same case for many minors (and adults) online.

censoring sexual health will be terrible for many. if there are people out there having sex without knowing the proper safety precautions to take to prevent injury/illness, it will be massively horrific.

all outcry for a ceasefire in Palestine and activism will be censored to oblivion.

if there are people who live in unsafe households, they might never be able to find safety until they become adults, which is far too late.

KOSA is a sick attempt to make the internet a place where there are few ways to be safe.

stop KOSA. it will literally save fucking lives.

sign petitions to stop it. please. spread awareness.
