Protests in Serbia against lithium mining, particularly targeting a planned new mining operation by Rio Tinto in the Jadar Valley, have escalated in recent weeks due to environmental concerns and fears over the impact on local communities. Here's what's been happening:
Protests: Many thousands of concerned citizens have gathered in Belgrade, with some protests leading to blockades of railway stations, demanding a permanent ban on lithium mining. The protest on August 10 appeared to have attracted in the hundreds of thousands. These actions have been part of a broader movement against what protesters see as environmental destruction for the sake of economic gain.
Government and Rio Tinto's Perspective: The Serbian government, alongside Rio Tinto, has promoted the project as an economic boon, promising high environmental standards and development of a local value chain for lithium products. However, these assurances haven't quelled public fears.
A Revived Plan - The Rio Tinto mine is a proposal that was scrapped in 2022 in response to similar massive protest actions organized by the same climate alarm NGOs who are pushing a subsidized energy transition requiring massive new quantities of lithium to make their EVs go. It was revived this year after the Serbian government signed an agreement with the globalists at the EU to help boost efforts to mine for “critical raw materials.”
Environmental and Health Concerns: Critics argue that mining would lead to irreversible pollution, affecting water, soil, and local agriculture. Despite the government's environmental impact assessments and health monitoring promises, skepticism remains high.
Political Implications: President Vučić has accused the protests of being part of a 'hybrid war' against his government, suggesting foreign influence in the protests. This has added a political dimension to the environmental debate. “It is part of the hybrid approach” designed to topple the government, Vucic told reporters. “We knew everything in detail. You think you have surprised someone... we have always been restrained, without violence we ensured order in the country, without a problem.”
Vučić Blames “western powers: Vučić said last week he had been tipped off by Russian intelligence services that a “mass unrest and a coup” were being prepared in Serbia by unspecified Western powers that wish to oust him from power, according to an AP report.
EU and Global Context: The project aligns with EU goals for green energy, aiming to reduce dependency on China for lithium. Obviously, this has not swayed local opinion among citizens whose government - both in Serbia and the EU - has long conditioned them to view minerals mining as an inherent evil.
Public Sentiment: X posts reflect a strong anti-mining sentiment, with many Serbians viewing the project as a threat to their land and health, despite potential economic benefits. All thanks to the prevailing narrative of the climate alarm movement.
Vučić’s government has offered to hold a referendum on the issue, though this gesture hasn't been well-received by all protesters who distrust the process. And why wouldn’t they distrust a process managed by government officials who have consistently lied to them about such matters?
The bottom line here is that the globalists and climate alarmists - ok, that’s redundant - are reaping the wind of their own deceitful climate fright scenarios.
That is all.
I finally got clearance to show my rough animation from Castlevania! I did a lot of animation for this show so I’m going to release these through several posts each week, starting with this one.
For the Alucard vs Trevor sequence there wasn’t enough time in the schedule for me to finish out the animation, so I completed a first pass and the drawings were sent over to Korea for the artists at MUA Film to to tie down.
I know this site is so painfully western and I know caring about every issue in the world is very fatigue inducing, I just wish that argument wasn't always used when non-western countries ask for help and recognition where western issues are always so prominent they spike worldwide memes which take up everyone's attention.
Before it gets out of hand once again like it did back when we were protesting against Vučić for lying about the COVID epidemic (he called it the dumbest most harmless virus ever and immediately after he got elected inflicted a lockdown and blamed the people for being careless which in turn spiked protests to take him down for lying), right about now there are massive protests against him and his criminal regime regarding the Canopy that fell in Novi Sad that ultimately killed 15 people (there are most likely more). I'm writing this to tell everyone before it's too late. When we were protesting to take him down during the epidemic we did so because his lies killed people, but the narrative he spread to the rest of the world is that we were protesting against the lockdown itself, which has never been true, it was against him manipulating and literally gasighting the entirety of this country. Right now we're protesting once again because his lies killed people, this time even more directly. The reconstructed Canopy was one of his many money laundering projects, reconstructing something with cheaper equipment so that all the money goes into his pockets, and when something disastrous happens they blame it on outdated construction and, their favorite argument, the "Opposition" (my grandparents specifically love this one, they buy all of it). In this instance they said the Canopy fell due to age, but they reconstructed it not long ago. After this happened they went on to erase any and all evidence of the Canopy being renovated, but people aren't stupid, they use the rail station regularly, they would see and know it was renovated.
Enough is enough and faculty students all across the country are getting on the streets to protest the incident and many more of his money laundering projects in the works, theater actors are heavily joining in, farmers are backing them up and also protesting against the Rio Tinto Lithium Mine project that's being pushed by Western Countries. Now mind you he's from the same regime from the 1990's when Slobodan Milošević was president who's leadership spiked the biggest protests of this country. Because he's a lying dictator he has complete control over how this narrative is shared not just within Serbia but to the rest of the world. Before Western Media twists the narrative again to also push the Rio Tinto Lithium mine further, I want everyone that reads this to remember this: The students protesting aren't paid to do this from the Opposition like they are being accused, the President doesn't "care more about the victims than angry protestors" like he claims, he is a heavy HEAVY criminal like his whole regime and all of this is so scary to be happening once again.
The Novi Sad Canopy incident was the straw that broke the camels back, enough is enough. Please support us the best you can by not buying into propaganda, we're protesting against his criminal regime and nothing else, just like how we did back in 1990's with Slobodan (the US happily took this opportunity to bomb us so all of this happening again with the same regime is so scary). Please don't ignore this, if something ever happens to us again due to Western Powers meddling I want everyone to know the root cause.
The West avoids us like a plague, that is, until they have something to blame on us for their personal interest.
