It's my strongly held belief the Boogie Person is nonbinary

Can we take a moment and appreciate the movie Don’t Look Under the Bed.

The movie is literally about a girl whose little brother gets cancer and she realized she had to grow up and accept everything life throws at her. She wanted to help her brother more than anything else in the world, but her bone marrow wasn’t a match and she realized that not everything in life could go her way and that no matter how hard she tries she can’t stop the travesties in her life. So she stops being acting like a child, and focuses on her studies, and skips a grade because she doesn’t want to spend time being a child.

The movie is literally telling kids it’s OK to be a kid sometimes and that you need to take your time growing up and not to rush anything or you’re going to miss out.

and to add to it the Boogie Man isn’t a man like you would expect! It’s a Boogie Person! GIRL POWER!
