John honey he didn’t mean it, he doesn’t really think that 😭😭😭

And this is only going to get worse, unless Mr. Guthrie decides to take a U-turn on this character arc.

Pardon if this is a wholly unoriginal thought, but

So we have learned that Arthur’s parents did the sewer slide. Both of them? In this universe? That sounds like cult shit to me. It would explain his abject hatred of “Cultists”.

With all this talk about “ram-like” people, I think we have neglected the potential of Sheep Friend. I want a Sheep Friend for Arthur (maybe even John too)

You ever get into a specific piece of media and when someone says they'll start watching you get excited for them?

I finished the Malevolent podcast in the span of 3, maybe 4 days because I got that invested in the what's next, the characters, the mystery... I can't say enough good things about this show.

These are early listening doodles as I explored what I wanted John might look like. As I continued the series, I wanted to push for something with a sort-of mask, but unsettlingly creepy and a touch alien. Also TEEF.

And then John kept being John with his expressiveness and I would die for him, your honor.

Maybe interesting historical context: Malevolent takes place during the Great Depression and also a time in The Golden Age of American Animation in which rubber hose animation was prevalent.
