This is the Trifid Nebula! πΊπΊπΊ
With an age of around 300,000 years, this nebula is one of the youngest emission nebulae known. Its name comes from the multiple dust lanes across the nebulae that cover a newly born cluster of stars! β¨β¨β¨

This is the Trifid Nebula! πππ
With its name meaningΒ βdivided into 3 lobesβ, this close-up picture shows the stellar beauty of this star-forming region. Containing an open cluster, emission nebula, reflection nebula, and a dark nebula, the Trifid Nebula is one of the most unique nebulae that makes it a common target for astronomers! πππ

This is the Eskimo Nebula!Β βββ
This nebula is created by the death of a Sun-like star and its strange 2 layered appearance gives it a lot of creative names such as the Clown-Faced Nebula or the Lion Nebula. Even though it looks like the planetary nebula is smooth, the reality is that it has dense filaments of matter all around it! β¨β¨β¨

This is the Lunar Eclipse of May 15th, 2022! πππ
As the Earthβs shadow covers the Moon, it appears to disappear into darkness. This is just one of 85 lunar eclipses that will occur in the 21st century. If you missed this one, donβt worry! The next total lunar eclipse will occur on November 8th, 2022. ππβ¨

This is the Trifid Nebula! β¨β¨β¨
At the center of this nebula is a group of bright newborn stars that are releasing streams of radiation and sculpting the nebulaβs shape. Located next to the famous Lagoon Nebula, the Trifid Nebula is a common target for astrophotographers due to its vibrant colors and high visibility! πππ

Join us for a special Star Party Live on Sunday, November 29th at 12:00 pm EST!Β
The Slooh Ambassadors (which includes me) have been working on this Women are From VenusΒ star party that hopes to encourage women to participate in astronomy!
I will be presenting my research during the event so please consider joining! There will also be other talks made by other Slooh women who are passionate about space.Β
All you need to do is to make a free account at Slooh.com and then watch the star party on the website! Please let me know if you have any questions and I hope you can attend πππ
This is the Skull Nebula! πππ
The glow of this eerie nebula is perfect for Halloween! This planetary nebula has a binary star system with a third star orbiting it. The beautiful colors of this nebula come from the outer layers of a Sun-like star that died in an explosion! π»π»π»
