He doesn't answer, the vibrations stopping after a few seconds,letting out a soft sigh and looking straight into her eyes, such an apologetic gaze as if he were trying to confess once more but with such a sad turn.

"When did we change?" He asks, suddenly the warmth from his body next to hers, not hugging, not cuddling, but just being there isn't enough. "I think... We caught up in routine." Her voice is so soft it's sharp, yet no reaction (at least visible) from either of them.

"I missed being like this with you" —silence fills the room for some seconds— "yeah, me too... You still look ugly asf from this view" laughter fills the room, the warmth from the voices mixing making everything better for a moment. "Who's talking? You look like shit! Shivering like a wet dog.", " Well, at least I don't LOOK like one". The teasing does nothing but warm up the situation, a familiar warmth filling the air.

His legs cross a little over hers, providing more physical warmth. She doesn't complain, how can she? This is what she was used to. "I missed this too... This apartment is so big for only one, sometimes when I sing I can hear the echo through the rooms." She says, earning laughter from the spiky man. "It's true! It's also a pain in the ass to clean", " oh, so I'm just a cleaner to you?" He teases once more, an offended tone that he can only use with her, playful to a level no one else knows.

"Of course not! You were also a good chef!" Snorting out a loud laugh she can't help but cover her mouth, earning grunting from the man and laughter back. "You're so mean, like you can't cook yourself! But yeah... You liked my food more than anyone, I'll give you points." Silence... It fills the room once more until the words that are about to come out of her mouth are stopped.

His phone rings again, the only sound for a moment before she sighs and smiles softly, "You have someone to go back to... Don't hurt her, okay? Sometimes you have a way of... Doing that without meaning to." His smile is different. Not sad, not happy, not angry, but regretful, it is written all over his face. The phone goes to voicemail once more, taking the man out of his trance. He gets up and nods, giving a faint smile with those remorseful eyes.

"I guess I do... It was nice being here again, I'll see you soon." He says, hesitant, not wanting to leave, this can't be over! Not again. Yet, he walks out the door... And he's gone once more.

She stays there, wondering when did everything went downhill, why is the man she feels so comfortable with now going to another girl's arms.

It hurts, but it hurts more because she knows that it wouldn't be the same even if they got back together, maybe routine isn't for everyone.
