I like the idea that most volcanic creatures regularly visit Volcano Island to bath in the lava pools or simply delight in the heat they provide, especially in winter. Kinda like how Japanese macaques warm up in hot springs, but with lava instead.

Patrolling a vast territory spanning from mountains to pride rocks, a female glimmer ghartokus dwells.
This is Bramble.
Despite her mutation making her easy to spot, she’s still a skilled hunter. Working around her disadvantage by hunting slower targets & using her size to steal kills from other predators. Hunting herself, she primarily targets gramoss, felikxtrox, lerachu, young lmakosauruodon & occasionally the herds of moemoea & avothius that pass through her territory.
Lately though Bramble has been seen gathering materials into a nest beneath pride rocks. Seems this powerful huntress is soon to be a first time mother.
That begs the question though, who’s the soon-to-be father?
Every cos player has undoubtedly played sochuri. It’s the starter creature most new players are gonna choose & let’s be real immediately discard when they get a bigger creature. It’s inspired by bats with its big ears & description saying it can cling to walls so these headcanons came to me easier than the xeleviprex ones.
- They live in crowded colonies of numerous individuals where they constantly bicker & fight for nesting space.
- The majority of sochuri colonies nest in lava-heated caves & caverns on Volcano Island, however colonies do survive just as well in other habitats. 🌋
- Sochuri can’t survive in year-round cold environments. Even their internal fire-breathing mechanisms can’t warm them up enough to stay in the long run. 🥶
- They mainly forage at night, relying on excellent night vision & highly-tuned hearing to find food. 🌙
- They prey primarily on small, abundant insect creatures. Their favorites being wuggawyrm, flickaflie, beezu & astrothi. 🦋
- Some sochuri are able to form hunting gangs. Together they can even bring down large prey a single sochuri would normally never attack solo. These gangs however are fairly unorganized & uncooperative. Getting into fights in the middle of a hunt & even if they make a successful kill, they’ll squabble for every last chunk of meat. 🍖
- The spikes on the males’ nose, cheeks, & chest are used solely to impressive females. Males with the longest, most perfect spikes are given the chance to breed with any number of available females. They won’t help in raising the young.
- While most males stay in the same colony their whole lives, females regularly move to new colonies. A behavior thats meant to prevents inbreeding.
- Because of their abundant numbers, sochuri are a reliable food source for many predators. Mainly preyed upon by other fliers, like aolenus. 🦇🦅
- Sochuri simply fly away when faced against a predator alone, in a group however they become brazen. The whole group will mob their attacker with breaths of fire sprayed every which way while at the same time screaming loudly to disorient the threat until they leave or the sochuri loose their nerve & flee. 🔥
Let me know what y’all think of these headcanons.
A glimmer molangai braves the nightly sub-zero temperatures of the tundra. Strangely enough his herd is nowhere in sight.
This MASSIVE mangrove tree is probably the most eye-catching feature in swamp now & I love it 🥰!
It adds such a mystical element to this biome by sheer size alone, with glowing buds just being a fun detail. The tree borders the redwoods & tundra biomes so others can see it even from afar. What I like most about the tree are the holes that can be made into a home for smaller creatures.
This is my first headcanon post of a specific creature, hopefully the start of many. Surprisingly it’s a creature I’ve hardly ever played since it’s released. These & future headcanons are largely inspired by a creature’s design inspiration, abilities, physiology & already existing descriptions. Now here are….
- Xeleviprex prefer living in warm, moist environments with plentiful water. They despise the cold 🥶.
- Adults are highly territorial, but fights between them are rarely life-threatening since they’re immune to others venom.
- They take residence in caves & other dark places both on land & below the water 🌊.
- For those living in habitats that experience harsh winters many may gather in the same cave to hibernate. This & the mating season are the only times they tolerate each other’s presence.
- Mothers are protective of their eggs, but as soon as they start hatching the mothers abandon them. Leaving the hatchlings to fend for themselves.
- Young xeleviprex primary eat plants but as they age they develop a liking & preference for meat. This diet change is believed to have evolved to prevent youngsters from competing with the adults for food🍒.
Let me know what y’all think of these headcanons. I’ll update if I come up with any more ideas.
Months ago I posted about my exterreri, Gnasher. I no longer liked Gnasher’s original colors since I’ve gotten better making skins, so I made a new one. I Love It A lot! The multi-colored yellow frills & axe tail most of all!
I used honey-eyed palette to make it if y’all were curious.
