Helping Ahmed's Family: Escaping War to a New Life
I am Ahmed Alanqer, a 35-year-old Palestinian man from Gaza. My life revolved around my small family: my wife Dina and our four children: Zeina, Eileen, Yamen, and finally, Ronza, who was born amidst the shelling just a month ago.
My story is a cry from the heart of hell. The war on Gaza began, bringing with it destruction that engulfed everything around us.
Our home, which was our only refuge and safe haven, turned into a pile of rubble. We were forced to flee south in search of safety, but what we found there was even harsher.
In the south, we found only suffering and hardship. No shelter, no water, no food. We moved between Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah, searching for a safe haven for our children, but we found only shelling and destruction. My wife Dina was pregnant, yet we found no hospitals or medical services to monitor her condition. My children fell ill with measles, chickenpox, and hepatitis, with no one to treat them.
My children grow under the scorching sun inside cramped tents, where life forces them to endure intense heat and mosquitoes. Life there is not just life; it's a sea of daily challenges, facing shortages in everything from clean water to basic healthcare. They deserve to be in a safe place, away from the constant fear of airstrikes and harsh weather conditions. They need support and assistance to regain their innocence and live a dignified childhood.
Let's stand by them, support them in every way we can, because helping them today is an investment in their future and ours too.
Life here has become an endless nightmare. I lost my source of income; my job as an accountant and the company I worked for were destroyed, and my recently imported goods vanished under the rubble. We are left without income, without hope, without a future. Each passing day feels like we are inching closer to the abyss.
My goal now is to save my children. I want them to have a better life, where they can go to school, receive medical care, drink clean water, and live in safety. But the cost of travel is exorbitant. $5000 per adult and $2500 per child, and I am unable to secure these amounts.
I reach out to you today, from the depths of my suffering, pleading for help. I know there are those who listen, those who have the power to change things. Your assistance is not just financial support; it is a lifeline for my family, a new hope for innocent children who have known only cruelty in life.

Please, help me take my family out of this hell. Help me give my children a chance at a dignified and safe life. โค๏ธโ๐ฉน๐๐
Thank you for any help you can provide. It is not just assistance; it is hope, it is life. ๐โค๏ธโ๐ฉน๐

I experienced the traumatic experience of displacement four times with my family in Gaza before I was evacuated alone to Ireland with the help of my Irish college.
No words can describe the fear that engulfs us when we see thousands of leaflets in our sky dropped from Israeli warplanes ordering us to leave for other places that are just as dangerous. It is a tedious and terrible process of packing everything we need, begging bus drivers over the phone (mostly with a feeble phone signal) to come and pick us up at any cost. Unfortunately, displacement and running from death became the daily routine of adults and children alike in Gaza.
When displaced, sniper bullets and indiscriminate heavy bombardment are not the only risks that face my family and other people. Another life-threatening problem facing people in Gaza is the sewage flooding the streets of Gaza after Israel deliberately destroyed most of the infrastructure. This led to the spread of fatal viruses and diseases like Poliomyelitis as announced by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
It pains my heart that my beloved city Gaza has turned into an apocalyptic ghost city where innocent people, children and adults, are indiscriminately killed daily. It is shocking to see this becoming normalized and the extent to which the world has become desensitized. What happened to humanity and human rights?! When will we see a ceasefire and be able to hug and reunite with our families?! When will we wake up from this never-ending nightmare?
The Lifeless corpses of innocent Palestinians decompose in the streets of Gaza and under the rubble. These bodies become food for stray dogs. I wonder what hopes and dreams the person had before he was killed. Did it hurt? Was he scared? Was it fast or painfully slow?! Does he/ she have children? Does his/her family know?! Was he/she unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?! Most importantly, how does one decide what is a wrong place and a wrong time to be when every place and every time in Gaza is wrong?! Survival is nothing but a matter of luck in Gaza.
Imagining that this could be the fate of my family makes me go insane with heart-stopping fear!
With the increasing escalation in the region, hope for a ceasefire in Gaza fades away and I have to live every second of every day with the haunting thoughts that my family could be the next to leave this cruel world brutally. Therefore, I am exerting all efforts to get them out of Gaza and hopefully reunite with them in Ireland where I am continuing my studies.
I cannot do that without your help. Decide today to play a significant role in saving my family in Gaza including many children with a prosperous future ahead of them.

I have one request.
Please think of the twst boys visiting Stitch, which is set in Hawaii, the way you would think of them visiting a Native American reservation.
Just please give Hawaiians respect and dignity and understand that Hawaii is stolen land.
The overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom was January 17, 1893 so this is still a fresh wound to Native Hawaiians as well as all local people who are experiencing repression from the American government. I'm excited for this event coming out in America but I can't deny that I'm also nervous to see what will be said about Hawaii. We don't like stereotypes about our culture like grass skirts etc. any more than Native Americans like stereotypes about dreamcatchers or feather head dresses.
In short just be mindful and if you don't understand something feel free to ask questions!

Hello, I am Eman from Gaza, a science teacher and a mother of five children: Nada (11 ) , Rahaf (8) , Sarah (5) , Sham(3) and Zeina 8 months. Before the war, our life was heaven. When the war broke out, everything changed. My school was bombed, our house burned down, my husband lost his job and my children lost their schools, thier toys, clothes, dreams and future.
We were displaced and displaced more than 10 times..
My little girl Zeina was born in the tent and you can imagine the extent of the suffering with the lack of health care, the absence of baby milk and the crazy rise in prices (Diapers, detergents and food )
My children suffer from skin diseases, water pollution and malnutrition with no medicines available .
Every day there is destruction and bombing.. My children live in real terror. They have lost their friends, relatives and dreams in this crazy war. Please help me and my children get out of Gaza. Help my children to live in safety and peace like the rest of the children in the world.
My children have lost a whole school year and if they can't get out of Gaza they will lose more school years. Help my children get their right to education and live in safety and peace like the rest of the children in the world. Save us from the hell of war.
Please help. Any funds raised will be used in daily survival and if enough is raised, to be able to evacuate Gaza. ๐ฅบ๐
I am Sami and my children in the picture lost their mother who passed away a few days ago due to low immunity and the severe cold in the tent. We are in dire need of your help now with a simple
donation that makes a big difference so that we can buy some clothes and protect our children in a safe shelter. Your participation also helps us save the remaining family members alive.
Hello there ๐
Islam, a 27-year-old from Gaza, is currently sleeping on the streets without any form of shelter or safety for himself and his family. Their home was demolished by a bombing from the Israeli occupation. While shelter is crucial, they also urgently need food and water. All of their necessities were taken away.
Islam tried sharing a donation link, but with limited followers, it wasn't reaching enough people. Thankfully, he created a GoFundMe account, making it easier for those who want to help.
Please consider sharing Islam's story and donating to his GoFundMe. Even a small contribution can make a big difference in their time of need. ๐โค๏ธ

[DM FOR READY-TO-POST PICTURES & WORDS FOR HAMMADโS CAMPAIGN SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HIT POST]
Hammad is one out of 9 members of his family. He is the eldest boy and the sole provider of his family at the young age of 24 since his father has been battling heart disease, and consequently suffered a debilitating heart attack.
[TW: Close by sounds of heavy artillery shelling and bombing.]
Months ago, at the start of the war, the neighborhood that Hammad and his family grew up in, where they created and held so many cherished memories and bonds, was besieged.
For days, Hammad and his family were trapped, terrified, between the once stable, now crumbling, walls of his home that once brought comfort and privacy to him now threatened to crush him beneath the rubble and the violent shelling of bullets and bombs whistling past their ears through the air and decimating anything it came in contact with.
His family sat, hungry, terrified, praying to live, watching the sun make its rounds past the plumes of black smoke rising from crumpled homes that once lined their block. This is only a fraction of what Hammad has been forced to endure for the over 550 days.
He watched his beautiful home be destroyed โ the memories of his childhood, destroyed; the hard work he and his family put into creating their home, destroyed; the pride he and his family had of their home, destroyed; comfort and security, destroyed.
So Hammad pitched a tent. In the face of exposure to harsh elements, forced conditions of unsanitary environments where disease and sickness spreads rapidly, and deprived of the most basic necessities with skyrocketing costs for flour, clothes, and shelter, Hammad persevered to keep his family alive and as safe as he could. He cared for his father as best he could, but his heart disease requires an operation that none of the besieged or otherwise destroyed hospitals of Gaza can do.
Faced with extreme hunger, thirst, displacement, and now the tent burnt down leading to more exposure to the harsh elements, Hammadโs fatherโs condition has only worsened. The resilience and strength Hammad has constantly and consistently shown only goes so far in the face of the lifeblood of his family suffering under such dire conditions, and I cannot bear for Hammad to have to endure the heartbreak of losing his father.

Noury, a Palestinian artist currently in Palestine, is as of today (February 4th 2024) having a fundraiser to help with her and her families surgeries. Noury alone has no right eye, an open cheek & forehead, a fractured wrist. She and her family were in a school and were targeted by tank missiles. She has had these injuries for months now.
From Noury: Hey everyone... I'm terrified for my family's situation so I set up a fundraiser if anyone would like to help us with our surgeries and situation. It would mean the world if you took a look, considered donating, and shared with friends. I love you all
