A collection of trans2020alt tips since a lot I see aren't exactly helpful? (No shame to tip makers, I love you guys)
- Fashion
No matter what gender you are, you wanna dress more androgynous to any degree, a lot of 2020 alt era was exploring gender and what's comfortable, so it's very important that however you dress that it's still physically comfortable for you to wear
Staple points of 2020 fashion is; oversized shirts or sweaters with a skirt or shorts, tank top or tight shirt with oversized pants, patch pants, slip dresses, platform shoes, combat boots, and usually mismatched thigh high socks
A good idea is to learn to layer things, since a part of the fashion was layering everything together nicely, most of it you want your bottoms to poof out more thank your top or generally be very shape
- Accessories
You have that layering stuff down? GREAT, here's where it COUNTS.
Staple accessories; Kandi EVERYTHING, spiked bracelets and chokers, chains, belts, animal or mushroom hats, chest harnesses, fishnet tops and bottoms, leg warmers, gloves, garter belts, masks, corsets, pins, and patches
Things being over each other happened so much, the fishnets then thigh high socks and finally let warmers was something I saw so much it's burned into my brain/pos
Diy culture was also MASSIVE, if you wanted something you often just made it yourself, this is also why kandi became so popular. Adding safety pins and/or little chains to everything was very important. Learning how to sew and/or make patches is a very good way to start for anything
- Make-up
Alright, I'm guessing at least one of you was waiting for this
Everyone of all genders did at least a little make up, from so subtle you'd barely notice to so eccentric they look like a clown(/pos)
Staple makeup looks; dark or black lipstick, different colored lips, hair clips, lines at the corners of lips, fake bloody noses, eye bags, over exaggerated blush, large uses of eyeliner, lines over the noses
- Fandoms
If there's one thing that happened for SURE, it's that most people got into some fandom somewhere
Staple media; Dsmp, mha, homestuck, danganronpa, warrior cats, sanrio, monster high, my little pony, toilet bound hanako-kun, genshin impact, and more
Fan creations and cosplay was up so much holy shit
- Symbolism
Figure out how color works, a good portion of alt fashion is either mainly black with a few other colors or very bright and vibrant rainbows
Most of 2020 then was cute things like hello kitty and bows mixed with darker topics like poor mental health and horror
Comments of sleepless nights or self harm was far from rare, it was there every time. Especially since this was when everyone was locked inside all the time and people were more aware of bigoted things in the world
- Couldn't add it anywhere else
Energy drinks, just do it man
Irl and kinning, I think most people back then were some type of transcharacter
Wicca, even just taking pieces of it for your own beliefs, since a lot of people were that
Room decor; get those rainbow LED lights, posters up, a funky shaped mirror or two, a figure mayhaps
BIG reminder that 2020 was figuring out who you are and what you are, and remember what money you have, if you cannot do something comfortably or afford it, do not worry about it. It is about being out there and weird, that's it.
There's also a lot I didn't put in here, but that's for you to figure out if you like (or I literally just forgot it)
Farewell online privacy
problem solved! that was fun for a little bit
ok the nazis are staring to get boring its blocking time :3
guys. please stop with the donation asks. im not gonna donate, im broke. im not gonna promote, half of these are scams and i have no way of knowing which ones are legit. im just gonna keep deleting the asks.
If it’s not you, speaking up for the little boy using crutches, even though he doesn't “need” them, a boy who has a heart full of kindness, who’s told that his joy is “wrong,” then who will tell him that his light is meant to shine, not dim under the weight of someone else’s expectations?
If it’s not you, stepping forward when the teenage girl in your class nervously whispers, “I think I might be transracial,” only to be met with silence or scorn, then who will show them that how they feel is never wrong and that they are perfect as they are?
If it’s not you, protecting the transspecies girl walking home from school, terrified of being harassed because she was outed, then who will ensure she knows she belongs, that she deserves safety, and that her existence is valid?
If it’s not you defending the transage person who’s mocked in a meeting, shrinking under the weight of others’ laughter, then who will remind everyone that their words matter, and that respect for those different to them is the bare minimum?
If it’s not you, standing by the parents who are learning how to love their MAP child through confusion, fear, and a world that tells them it’s easier to turn away, then who will remind them that love should be unconditional and the strongest bond of all?
If it’s not you, speaking out when constant harassment and pain from a society who doesn't understand, threatens the very existence of paraphile and transid lives, then who will stand at the front lines, defending their right to exist and leave peacefully, as their truest and most authentic selves?
If it’s not you, showing up for the zoo adult rejected by their family, the transabled teen who feels invisible, or the questioning child who feels scared, then who will make sure they see they’re not alone?
Who will let them know that they are part of something bigger, something stronger, a community of love, resilience, and hope?
Every unkind word that goes unchallenged becomes an echo. Every act of discrimination that’s ignored grows roots. Silence fuels hate, and inaction feeds oppression.
But the reverse is true, too. Every voice lifted in defense of our community, our family, creates ripples. Every act of courage in the face of intolerance builds a bridge.
We cannot wait for someone else to do what is ours to do. The world changes when people speak up, act out, and love fiercely. Stand up for the little ones, for the ones discovering who they are, for the ones finally stepping into their truth. Stand up for them, because they are your community. They are us.
If not you, then who?
