There was a Damian fan account on twitter that posted a graphic that had all the books the super sons appears in, including the issue of Bendis' Superman where he """"reunited"""" them. I tweeted that issue does count and they immediately blocked me. I still laugh about it

Haha, that's incredibly funny XD. I can definitely say for sure that the fact that they blocked you says more about them.

But in all seriousness, I and @wesavegotham were actually talking about this recently. And I actually discussed this @bardicious too awhile back. So I will summarize all our conclusions into this post.

The question that if you still consider the Super Sons, the same dynamic dual they were after Jon was aged up?

All of us had the same conclusion that the answer was obviously no.

Think about it, one factor why Tomasi’s Super Sons worked and was received so well was because Damian was older (obviously this isn’t the only reason). Damian being older not only benefited the development of Damian but also of Jon’s:

Damian has a darker past (raised by the league since birth), very intelligent for his age, and believe it or not, Damian is, for the most part, really wise. Jon, on the other hand, is more naive, he was new to being a superhero and didn’t yet know of how dark the world could be, and the person mentoring him...was Damian, the person you least expect to mentor anybody.

But Damian was perfect for the job, he also started his superhero career at 10. Although he is young, Damian is absolutely NOT naive. Damian has experienced the worse the world can throw at you. What better person to mentor you?

Damian learned a lot from mentoring and training Jon. Now Damian was not being mentored or watched over, he was mentoring and watching over Jon instead. Working with Jon helped Damian learn how to better work with someone who was difficult to handle as he is.

And it gave Damian the opportunity to be the older sibling for once for someone else that needed an older brother figure in their life like Dick is to him.

On the other hand, Jon being younger and naive isn’t a bad thing. Him being child-like helped Damian finally experience the childhood he was neglected. It helped Damian not take everything too seriously and enjoy life for once. Put a little bit of his trust into someone else besides Dick and gain a new friend who understood living under the burden of a legacy that was so heavy. As Damian was mentoring Jon in the superhero world, Jon was mentoring Damian in their personal world outside of patroling.

Under Damian, Jon was getting development, learning to be his own entity, and not overshadowed by his father. Plus Damian wasn’t gonna let Jon just be all muscle, he was teaching him to be analytical-like and do detective work as well. Under Damian, Jon would learn how to be different from his father.

Now that Jon is older, it disrupts that dynamic. I don’t think even Bendis even knows how he messed this up. And no amount of cats, hugs, or whatever he showed us in his version of Super Sons in Superman issue 16 can fix that.

And even if he ages down Jon down, I don’t think I’ll ever forgive him for leaving Damian alone during one of the darkest times of his life after leaving the league (with Alfred dead) and as @wesavegotham said for even implying that Damian was comparable to a ‘baby Hitler.’ I don’t know if that is even worse than Glass destroying Damian’s development.

It is not only insulting to fans of Damian like myself who have watched Damian grow and develop. But it also is an insult to writers like Tomasi and Gleason who worked so hard to develop Damian in the first place.

Pick A Song

"You're alone," said his step-mother, a wicked smile on her lips.

"They will come." But Nico wasn't sure.

He walked in, Hazel was in the living room, reading a book, Frank was at his side, sitting straight, in a different chair than Hazel, too nervous.

"Leo and Jason?"

"They will come."

Hazel sighed, patting at his side, where Nico sat, burying his fingers on his tights.

Being in a polyamory relationship was hard, especially when his family mocked him about that, even Hazel, sweet and caring, looked at him weirdly.

"Nico, dad is expecting you, he's in his office."

Bianca was standing, avoiding his eyes, walking away when Nico passed at her side, his heart still aching.

"None of your boys came."

"They're late, Leo is working, soon he will get a patent, the youngest boy getting one."

Nico's voice was angry, the teasing in his father's tone infuriating him, the words dripping venom.

"And Jason, his father still spoiling him? at least Valdez has his own money"

"The scholarship of Jason isn't a gift"

Mr. di Angelo waved, standing from his desk, walking to the dining room, where the rest of the family was waiting.

Thanks to god, only his sisters, father, and step-mother were there, but he was expecting Jason and Leo, the family wouldn't be so mean in their presence.

He could fake an emergency, though, Leo burning something, Jason injured, an imaginary pet dying.

While he considered causing an accident, the doorbell rang, the heart of Nico pumping, he almost ran to open the door, Leo and Jason on the door.

"Sorry, babe, Superman got stuck at the laundry."

Nico hugged Leo, breathing deeply, kissing his jaw, barely crying, feeling safe with his boys.

"Hi, Neeks, I'm really sorry."

Jason was holding a bouquet, a shy smile, bitting the little scar on his face, reaching Nico's hand, interweaving their fingers, kissing them.

"At least you're here."

Date Night

Jason looked at Leo, his boyfriend was laying on the bed, a white towel around his hips, his hair drooping water, limbs extended on the mattress.

"Leo, you are drenching the bed."

"Shut up, corazón."

"Dress, the date is tonight."

"The boy is head over heels for you, and I'm charming enough to make him fall for me."

Jason sighed, seeing Leo putting his clothes, not too elegant, but not casual; the blond boy combed his hair, judging the image in the mirror.

He had been the boyfriend of Leo for years, since high school, and he loves him, with all his heart, but he felt in love with other people, Leo too, and now, they were enamored of the same boy.

Nico di Angelo was fascinating, handsome, dark hair, sweet brown eyes, light skin and freckles, soft lips, both, Leo and Jason, dying for kissing it, he was a sweet boy, silent but joyful, kind, smartass, creative and mysterious.

Jason felt hard for him, the first time he saw him, helping a stray kitten during a storm, talking sweetly, running with the cat to a dry place.

Leo started to see Nico with rose-tinted glasses slowly, when Jason began to hang out with the Italian boy, at first he was distant, but the time passed and he met the real di Angelo, sweet and thoughtful.

Now they get a date, both of them, the same night.

"Do you think Nuco really likes me?"

Leo was stretching his t-shirt, his hands moving all around his body, curling his hair, tapping his tights, chewing the lower lip, jumping on his toes, anxious.

"He always sees you with heart in the eyes and loves to listen to you."

Kissing his cheek, Jason went off the room, grabbing their jackets, smiling at the choice of Leo.

"Go big or go home?"

"Nico said I look good on the jacket."

"You look good on everything."

Holding hands, they walked to Nico's house, smiling uncomfortably at Hazel.

"Your boyfriends are here." The girl shouted, sending a wink to the boys.

"Shut up Hazel," Nico walked outside, his cheeks blushing "Or I won't cover you the next time you sneak out."

The door closed hard, Nico was seeing the pavement, his hands behind his back.

"Hi," muttered, "Sorry for Hazel, I know we're not in a relation…"

"Yet" interrupt Leo "We're not official yet"

Jason extended his hand, smiling when Nico hold it, the young boy holding Leo's with his other hand, the three of them walking, sharing about their day.

Shortly they were in a restaurant, Italy's flags hanging off the ceiling, pictures of Venetia in the walls.

"This is an Italian restaurant?"

"A Venetian," corrected Leo "good food, nice music, charming people, and the talk Venetian."

The smile of Nico made the boys happy, Leo winking at Jason.

"Told you, he loves it."

"Thanks."

Promptly they ordered, Nico talked about Venice, describing his favorite places, sharing stories about his life, his voice full of nostalgia.

"Sorry," mumbled Nico, when they were walking to his home "I talked a lot."

"I love it when you talk about the things you like," said Jason, a soft smile on his lips.

"You don't have to say sorry." added Leo "If you're happy talking about your hometown, we're happy listening."

Blushing, Nico pulled Leo, holding the boy's face, kissing him fast and soft, hugging him, hiding his head on the crock of the neck, giggling.

"Jay Jay is jealous," muttered Leo on Nico's ear, kissing his cheek.
