Skeletober day 21: Marowak from Pokemon
“From its birth, this savage Pokémon constantly holds bones. It is skilled in using them as weapons.”-Pokemon Black and White Pokedex
Heya all you beings out there! Today I’d like to showcase what I’ve been doing in my Bookbinding class this year! Bit of a warning, this is going to be a long post as I’m hoping to show off a few of my favorite books in detail.
First off we have “Bonsai”, an album style binding bound with wire. Inside there are illustrations of the progress of a bonsai that I actually own!
This one might be my favorite! “The Golden Record” is an accordion\maze style book with a wrap around cover. The cover is made of images that can be found on the golden records onboard Voyagers 1 and 2.
Inside is the story of an intelligent race that finds a Voyager and its record! The alien writing is my interpretation of my friend @thevantom ‘s conlang. This is an old version of the conlang, it’s much better now! Thanks Vantom for letting me use it!
Since the book isn’t actually bound to it’s cover, you can completely unfold it to reveal a picture of the Voyager!
A close second for me is “Om Nom Nom”, a French doors/ album binding.
The pages overlap to make it look like the dragons are noming the food!
Next we have I tiny little paperback Japanese stab binding which I call “ How to Make a Japanese Stab Binding”!
I even decorated the bookmark with a mini book for extra mettaness!
Lastly we have an accordion concertina binding, “Aztec Deities”.
WOW! Did you read this entire thing? Thank you very much, and have a great day you wonderful sapient thing you!
NerdWings has OCs?
Why yes, yes she does
Special thanks to @adorkastock for the young Tulip pose (the girl with the sword) and to my friends, especially @art-of-a-space-duck for all the encouragement!
Some concepts for my character Aviv, the protagonist of my project “The Miracle Effect”. I had fun breathing a bit of life into him with the pose sketches!
Hello! This is a sort of WIP for my Illistration final.
Now the painting is technically finished, but it’s only half of the project. The second half of the project is to DESTROY the painting, and re-paint it!😱 I’m actually not sure if that’ll be hard though, I don’t feel terribly attached to this piece. Frankly I feel I could use the practice! Have you guys ever done a project like this before? Was it hard to destroy your work? Did the reconstructed piece come out better? Comment and let me know!
I also did a few color/ composition studies that I like better than the finished product.
Today’s skele is: Mercedes “Meche” Colomar from Grim Fandango
“Guess they couldn’t save me, eh?”
Today’s skele is: a Factory-irregular Skeleton from Kingdom of Loathing
You find a misshapen skeleton, and pause to wonder what went wrong with its development, and what was its life like before it became a skeleton, and why is it hitting you.
It’s finished!
new character idea! This is Evy the ghost! She died suddenly, and now she’s on a mission to let her friend know she’s ok. Like Harry Houdini and his wife Bess, Evy and her friend devised a secret code so that they’ll know for sure if they’re speaking to their friend on the other side. Now all Evy has to do is learn how to contact the living...
Christmas present for my cousin, Sue rises from the grave!
