The Falling Scene was genuinely special in manga. It was peak of Erasermic interaction and the highest note of Rooftop Trio Storyline. But in anime they just put it in between two important frames like it was some commercial break. Like it’s nothing but shit to rewind. It was special to many of us, we’ve been waiting for this moment to be more heartbreaking and sorrowful, sincere and epic. But nah.
My kind of romance is #erasermic holding hands in an hospital
Anything on this blog about Mic will only ever be dedicated to Mic. I love Aizawa but damn fandom won’t let the funny bird man DJ stand on his own two feet. You mention Mic and suddenly people are like ‘Aizawa this Aizawa that’ and I just don’t give a shit, man. If I go searching for or get recommended anything with Mic, I’d say a good 98% of it all is tied to Aizawa in some way. Hell if people find out Mic is my favorite character, their first instinct is to ask me ‘Do you ship him with Aizawa??’ It’s really fucking sad.
Don’t get me wrong. I love tf outta Aizawa. There’s so much I relate to with him that fandom often forcibly changes and throws out for the sake of horniness and shipping and that alone makes me feel really depressed and isolated and broken in these spaces. Man was my favorite character in MHA until Mic threw himself out in front of him. I also love tf out of Shirakumo and the 3 baka dynamic. Yet strangely, a lot of fandom seems to love pretending Shirakumo never existed to begin with. Wonder why…
If Hori decides to write them to be together. Great man, I support it. I trust Hori’s writing, but fandom’s… Not so much. But with rare exceptions I don’t care all that much about shipping in general especially when it involves a character who doesn’t seem to indicate or give a shit about anything romantic to begin with. I hate ‘will they won’t they’ shit so much.
People can think about Aizawa as his own character and depth that has no involvement with Mic. Mic though? Everyone forces everything about Mic to revolve around Aizawa and I’m so tired of it.
Let Mic be Mic. Let him have his own spotlight without having to live in Aizawa’s shadow 24/7.
people don’t only have gay/bi headcanons for the purpose of shipping… sometimes you just look at a character and go ‘yeah that is not a heterosexual’. it’s just about. vibes. it’s about what’s in your heart.
“Watching growth”😕
IM CRYING I LOVE THIS SM, I LOVE THEM. FATHER DAUGHTER RIGHT HERE.
they mean so much to me. (I don’t know where this image is from, I got it from a TikTok, I have asked the creator where they got it from so I’ll update if they respond)
Update: the image is from ultra impact the game? (Found it on twitter)
he never was, and he never will be, if for no other reason than because Horikoshi hadn't decided what to do with Kurogiri when he was first introduced.
Kurogiri and Shigaraki are the only two villains that we're introduced to at USJ who are part of the final war. because Horikoshi hasn't figured out Kurogiri yet There's nothing between Kurogiri and Aizawa. They did not recognize each other then. At all. There's nothing there. This is later confirmed at Tartarus, when Aizawa and Mic are told the truth about Shirakumo and Kurogiri.
Horikoshi likes foreshadowing. If he had intended for Kurogiri to have been Aizawa's childhood friend from the start, there would have been some sort of hint of it back then. Okay, so then when did he decide on Kurogiri's origins? Probably by the time we got the remedial training arc, because that's the first time we really get Mic as a character. Granted, we don't get a whole lot of insight into him, because he's not the focus of the plot. But we do get some glimpses of who he is. He's smart and sarcastic and weird and doesn't seem to like conflict or at least awkward conversations and most importantly Aizawa trusts him.
Mic is Aizawa's other childhood friend, of course he trusts him- No. It's not just that. Here's the thing. Mic and Aizawa and Shirakumo are so intrinsically tied together that when we first learn of Shirakumo-through their memories-they are both present in each other's memories with Shirakumo.
Mic had to be allowed to become a full character because he was going to be part of Kurogiri's story.
I would almost make an argument that Kurogiri is more Mic's villain than Aizawa's even. Okay? Remember how I said Kurogiri doesn't recognize Aizawa? He recognizes Mic. Or at least according to Garaki he does. He confirms that they were after Erasure, so if they were watching Aizawa back when he was a student, they should know that all three of them were friends, right? But he refers to Mic as Kurogiri's friend. Present tense. Kurogiri still knows who Mic is.
And this was confirmed back in Tartarus when they first confront Kurogiri too. This time Kurogiri recognizes them both (he only indicates that he knows Aizawa from USJ btw). Aizawa starts talking to Shirakumo, who tries responding, but he's not able to actually break through until Mic also calls out to him.
Aizawa's never able to reach Shirakumo alone. He confirms that he kept trying while they were both at central hospital, but was never able to get a response. If Kurogiri was solely Aizawa's villain, then he would have been able to get through to him then. Shirakumo would have been the heroes secret ace in the hole during the final war, there would be no need for Monoma to have learned to use warp gate. There would have been no reason to use Mic as an actual character. There would have been no reason for Aizawa to ask Mic to be at the hospital. Because again, Aizawa trusts Mic. He knows he's not able to reach Shirakumo alone and is hoping Mic can.
And he's not wrong. When it comes down to it, and Kurogiri wakes up, there's a part of Shirakumo fighting for control too. Because Mic called out to him.
Kurogiri is not Aizawa's villain. He is, at the very least, both Mic and Aizawa's villain (and maybe it's just me projecting as a Mic fan, but I'm almost inclined to believe Mic is going to play a bigger role than Aizawa in this plot) But the last time we saw any of the three of them, they were together, so we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out for them.
"that's... me."
Anon that said Mic is attractive with fanart, with his hair and glasses down.
(Note I don't know how this may turn out. If it sounds like I'm anger. It's not to you it's at other people. I promise)
I agree with you. I think he is really attractive, but a majority if the fans, it's feels like, don't agree with us.
I once was talking to my friends about how I thought Mic's was really good looking in the new leaks(this is when the Mic suit leaks came out) and they told me "But Aizawa is hotter" Orr "No" and repeatedly shut me down. I had to agree with them, just for them to hear me out. Then told me more or less that I was wrong.
So I agree with you, Mic is attractive, but people don't care, and will hold him more accountable to the shit he does, then someone like Aizawa.
I don't think that it's fans not agreeing that present mic is good looking but more of fans developing a tunnel type vision so whenever present mic is brought up aizawa would eventually be brought up into the conversation it's rarely vice versa though. I do very much think that this is because mic as a character barely has any screentime to himself and is usually used to prop up aizawa instead of being an independent character.
Yeah mic looks really good in the suit and he is slept on in chapter 425.
However, I would go as far as to say that the criticism that mic gets is actually unfair.
1) he got criticism for his reaction to finding out about yuuga being the traitor but after all the traitor put everyone in danger and literally indirectly caused the death of midnight and aizawa getting injured in the usj. Present mic at the time also didn't know yuuga's situation and he still had 100% right to be angry
2) he got criticism for calling out bakugo in the sports festival but he was valid for doing that. Bakugo was being harsh and incredibly aggressive
3) he got criticism for him not accepting that oboro is kurogiri but present mic unlike aizawa never got time to process and heal from the trauma he simply shoved it down he cracked and even then it was extremely valid and understandable where he came from
4) the way he attacked Dr garaki was yes indeed violent and he shouldn't of done it as a hero but you bet I would be out for blood if some creepy doctor turned my friend into a nomu ending his life while that doctor has a bloody immortality quirk.
Also, even if characters are thought to be hot/good looking sometimes it even back fires because not only does it sometimes make people forget about the characters actions but it also makes people just focus on that one quality, sexualise the character and sometimes even forget about the characters purpose or proper role in the story.
