Having of seen a lot of support for both sides of the conflict, I have gotten the impression that Israel is using stratagems and tactics suggested by the USA, leading to nastier outcomes.
Meanwhile, I conclude that HAMAS is probably dangerously slow on the uptake here. Like - I doubt that their an outright suicide cult? And at this point I do have to exclude a portion of what is said about their actions as outright lies, too, but there's definitely enough evidence to say dangerously slow on the uptake.
Also, regarding the blog support - its very weird to be hammering in on the phrase "HAMAS is the democratically elected government of Gaza" like a lot of the more active pro-Israel bloggers have. Assuming that that's truthful in every word and implication, even a landslide election only suggests some 70% or so support, with more normal elections, regardless of particular system, having 55% to 60% or so support. In other words, that doesn't justify anything one may be trying to justify that way. (And its pretty darn clear your trying to justify something with that phrase, even if I'm not sure what most of the time.)
On the other side of things, its odd that those favoring a palestinian government are taking that 30k number as absolute. Under current conditions, there is for sure no way for HAMAS to provide accurate casualty statistics, and while Israel may be able to provide total casualty statistics, if it cares to do so (it probably doesn't, and most likely instead only counts direct kills), it probably doesn't have any way to reliably distinguish civilian and military kills.
Question: how did you get the link to agree with the claim? This is a one question quiz. Naturally, that means it is probably based on some obscure lore, so I trust you, but how?
hello homestuck kinnies that live in my computer
i finally went ahead and made a classpect quiz based on my personal conception of how things work. that means it's probably one of the more accurate classpect quizzes out there. consists of two parts. 20 questions total. go take it, share it, argue about it, whatever. have fun.
By the way you say this, have you tried gathering all the nothing in a room and throwing it at something?
NO im NOT mad that my powers haven't activated AT ALL yet *my telekinesis throws nothing across the room*
Honestly, someone's got of made him raised by bats at some point, and there's no way he doesn't ecolocate when he wants to. Like, seriously, it's about fear? He was trained by the most *famous* assassins, and probably has a set of their garb he could be using as reference for his costume. He should be doing that if it's about fear.
"The existence of people who've never heard of [insert fandom here] makes me feel old" buddy, there are people who've never heard of just about anything you can think of. On a densely networked site like Tumblr, you're probably at most four or five mutual-of-a-mutual jumps removed from someone who's genuinely never heard of Batman.
... Honestly, if not for my dairy intolerance and dislike of most dairy free cheese I've tried (including all the sliced ones), I may actually like that? Like... It's a distinct style of food which I wasn't quite expecting at any point until it was done, but it's probably decent.
what the fuck is this monstrosity
Lack of notification likely related to that reblog not showing on the comments reblog filter.
alright nerds i need your help getting this piece of shit (affectionate) talking with my other devices
there's an expansion bay for a cd/floppy drive but I have the secondary hard drive adapter instead. Of course it doesn't have any form of radio. My only way in is the rear I/O.
From left to right / top to bottom and in poor image quality:
RJ11 (I have working 2009 laptop with an RJ11 port, and a landline phone system)
Infrared (no compatible hardware)
USB: The drivers aren't installed. I have them in an exe and it's the file i'm trying to send.
Audio mic/headphones/in
Parallel port (i have a 2008 desktop pc with a parallel port but it might be dead, i'll have to check)
What I assume is a proprietary docking station connector
PS/2
VGA
The PC runs windows 98 SE, and it looks like it also has MS-DOS (sorry if i'm saying something stupid, i'm younger than this computer). Other than python 2.3 and winzip, it doesn't look like it has any third-party utility software.
I tried adding a file straight to the hard drive but the connector on the hard drive isn't compatible with my IDE adapter, even though they look very similar (the pins on the HDD are slightly closer together).
Can't open the bios setup because you need a cd for that
my crazy idea is sending the file as audio. I think windows 98 ships with some kind of audio recording software. I can use my modern pc to play the file as audio. The hard part is the trip back. i guess i could use python to read the audio data and convert it back to a file
The two realistic solutions are RJ11 and parallel, but I have no idea how they work or how to use them
Someone who knows more than me about old computers please help
So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?
The ones for things other than Autism are worse - I tried to take a self-fill one for distinguishing dissociative disorders from each other and easily confused disorders, and it just went such that about a third of the way through, I had declared that so many of the questions were clearly related to known issues not included in the test, were just plain not applicable, or, worse, probably but not certainly refered to a particular model of DID, that it defacto invalidated the measure.
Speaking as someone who's a. a technical writer, and b. on the spectrum, I 100% agree that the wording of most autism self-assessment schemas sucks, but fixing that is also a legitimately hard problem. Identifying neurotypes boils down to identifying habitual patterns of behaviour, and one of the frequent hallmarks of autism is having difficulty generalising from anecdotal observations to identify trends. The upshot is that an autism self-assessment that wants to be useful to its target audience is very often going to find itself in the position of trying to explain what a habitual pattern of behaviour is to someone for whom the only discernible patterns are "Every Time Forever Without Exception" and "A Series of Isolated Incidents".
Ah, I see! I suppose that makes sense, if nothing that normally happens with spine growth would mean it has to be replaced. It's a bit variable, but losing out on a good half of one's teenage height gains that way would be a sensible expectation.
... Is it possible it's simply been a whole year?
literally what the fuck do you mean its still january. how is that remotely possible. its been six months minimum
