love when characters have to have a domestication arc before you can even consider giving them a redemption arc
yesterday me and a friend were discussing the logic of how death and time travel worked in KH vs. also yesterday when I tried to explain how nobodies worked to a friend who’s never played KH

Hey writerly friends! Here's your warning that Google is making updates to terms and service allowing them to mine your data and train AI with it. It's focused on emails right now but Google docs facing a similar change is on the horizon.
Keep your eyes peeled for terms of service updates because you've already accepted future changes once you hit accept the first time. Unpublished novels do not have the same copyright protections as published novels and lawsuits are much more difficult to win. I would highly recommend anyone with a large amount of writing in Google docs start removing it from that platform.
If you don't want your writing used to train AI (and to be clear you won't be paid for it) then it's time to start looking at alternatives to Google Docs.
Microsoft Word - unlikely to implement AI training
Microsoft Word is possibly the safest bet at the moment. The Office suite makes most of it's money from corporate licensing. That depends heavily on strict privacy rules. The risk to their reputation is too high to even attempt it on just the personal version of Word. If you want to be very very cautious, get Word Professional as there is ZERO chance of it being used for AI scraping.
$159.99 USD one time purchase OR subscription model for $69.99 per year which comes with all of the Microsoft Office suite and significantly more cloud storage.
Microsoft Word Professional is $439.99 USD. You really don't need it for writing.
Scrivener - unlikely to implement AI training
Scrivener would probably not survive the kind of controversy AI scraping would cause as their customers are exclusively writers.
$59.99 USD one time purchase per platform (if you switched from windows to mac you would need to repurchase.)
Libre Office - read all the terms and conditions or don't risk it.
Libre Office has an AI tool. There are no stories circulating about them scraping user's data but they're not near as big as Google and may not have drawn enough attention yet.
Free! (Which unfortunately makes data scraping more likely.)
Platforms like Ao3, Wattpad, Smashwords and possibly even Tumblr are all being targeted by AI companies for data scraping. In fact OpenAI are being sued for doing just that.
Be careful where you post your writing.
That's all folks!
Was having a conversation about the different types of villains in Legend of Zelda, and my friend mentioned how Zelda herself could actually be a pretty decent villain in her own right. She holds the Triforce of Wisdom, so she-in theory-could outsmart Ganondorf and it's a shame this aspect hasn't been used before. So we came up with a few of basic idea for this au(some of these i came up with on my own):
Due to her part of the Triforce, Zelda would have the capacity to be very manipulative and could somehow convince the entire kingdom she's a good person while doing some pretty bad stuff.
They're in a war against the Gerudo because Ganondorf sees her evil and wants to liberate Hyrule from her reign, but Zelda spins this to her people as the Gerudo invading them for the throne.
Link would have some sort of history with her, and therefore completely trusts her, which lets her manipulate him into doing basically warcrimes while giving him 'explanations' that placate him when he starts voicing his confusion and concerns.
She keeps him on a metaphorical leash inside the castle and even when sending him out to fight or other things i dunno and on one of these missions against the enemy, he's about to kill an innocent Gerudo before a wounded warrior jumps in front of his sword, killing her. For some reason this is what snaps him out of Zelda's control and is just stupefied by the carnage around him, letting the 'enemy' knock him out and take him prisoner.
When he wakes up he interrogated by the man himself Ganondorf, holding a necklace in his hand that he took from Link, talking about its evil magics before actually asking questions.
The necklace was something Zelda had given Link when they became friends, but she had seen how good he was at fighting so put a spell on it to keep him under her control. Not direct mind control, but more like... fervent nudging him to be obedient to his friend that he trusts.
Eventually they team up and fight Zelda but yeah got nothing for in between that lol
I would love to make some sort of comic of this but i'll have to flesh it out much more, and this isn't even taking into account all my other projects 😰
