Unhinged 30 Days Of Otherkin Challenge: DAY 7

The strong desire to fly above the trees in the middle of the night, wind stirring the thick fur that keeps me warm. A gap parting the trees for a river flowing away from a basin at the foot of a waterfall. Thirsty, I dive down, and before I hit water, I transform from a winged wolf into a water dragon. From beneath the water I swim to the waterfall and surface. I relish the way the water falls onto my scales. The underwater currents swirling around my body. The water from the waterfall is cool, crisp, and tastes so refreshing, befitting the thirst of a creature as majestic as I.

So I tilt my head up to drink from the falls, open my mouth, and GAWSGAHRWGLRASGH that yummy wator.

Kintypes? Silver Ice Dragon

What do you prefer to call yourself (therian, otherkin, nonhuman, etc) A dragon. I call myself otherkin simply because it describes my experience, but I don't really like labels. Nonhuman works to describe me as well.

How did you find out you were alterhuman? I've always felt different. It just took a bit of soul searching. That and I made a dragon OC and realized I was getting a little too hyped at the idea of being that character instead.

Favorite kintype? Dragon is my only Kintype.

Most recent kintype? Dragon. For a bit over a year now.

Least favorite kintype? None. :)

What are your reasonings for being alterhuman? When I was pretending to just be human, it always felt like something was missing. This is that missing piece that makes my life make sense.

Do you wear gear? If so, what kind? Nope. Would love to get some gloves with a scale pattern on them, though.

Any advice to new alterhumans? Controversial, but… Don't come out? Unless it's someone you know for SURE you can trust. Your parents don't really need to know, nor do your classmates or teachers. The world isn't ready for us just yet. You'll find out more about yourself if you keep this as a personal journey of self discovery anyways.

What're some things you do to affirm your kintypes? I don't really do specific things... Does drawing art of my dragon form count? TBH I'd be down for more suggestions on dragon things to do but I don't always feel the need to "affirm" my kintype. I know it's me.

Strangest thing you do to affirm your kintypes? I write my diary in draconic letters instead of English.

What are your goals to affirm your kintypes? Get strong! I won't ever have the strength of a dragon, but getting into better shape as a human would help a LOT. I've already started by running a mile almost every day... I need to start training my core strength next. Also, a dragon scale tattoo would be awesome.

Do you do quads? Nope.

Funniest way you found out a kintype? Cries in only one kintype

How does being alterhuman affect your day to day life? I can ALWAYS feel my phantom wings... So sitting in chairs is hard.

Does being alterhuman affect your religious beliefs? Not really. I already believed in souls and astral projection. Knowing I have the soul of a dragon just fits my beliefs.

Do your mental illnesses affect your view of your alterhumanness? Yeah, I mean. Autism is a huge part of all this, obvs. I have social issues that contributed to me feeling different in the first place. It works though, whenever something happens where I have trouble speaking, it just feels like a cultural/language barrier between dragons and humans, instead of just regular old social anxiety. Kind of took away a bit of the shame I had for being socially awkward.

Does being alterhuman affect your gender? I care a bit less about gender when I imagine myself as a full dragon. But I still care about being a pretty lady in human form.

What is your favorite thing about being alterhuman There's magic in the world. We live in a world with dragons and fairies and werewolves. That fact alone is awesome. But it's also really fun just going about life knowing "hehe nobody knows I'm actually a dragon 😈"

What is your least favorite thing about being alterhuman I feel like "species dysphoria" is a bit of a dramatic term for it, but god DAMN I really hate that I can't just be a real dragon. I wanna fly!!!!

It's honestly a tie! I love frosty cold water in rivers, but at the same time I adore the heat of a hot springs..

..Though, oceans are not quite something I enjoy. The massive expanse of water unsettles me a bit.

I messed up with the first 2 days cuz I'm new to tumblr and brain no worky. So I'm just making my own post for my first few responses now! Also yeah I did days 1 and 2 together cuz I just got excited.

DAY 1: what type of dirt would your kintype eat?

As an ice dragon.... Probably permafrost?? But I would never actually seek it out as a meal or anything obviously

Alternatively, glacial sediment. Or sand/mud from lakebeds/riverbeds/seafloors. I could see those getting in my mouth when I eat, as I'm partially aquatic and most of my hunting takes place underwater.

I would prefer not to eat dirt tho thankyou

Some kinda fish pie!!! My diet would consist of mainly fish or other aquatic life. Raw and cold, too. So! The 3 ingredients:

- Seaweed Pie Crust

- Any kind of raw fish as filling

- Caviar topping

------ Served Cold like a cheesecake, perhaps even frozen

Hungry just thinking about it... But it's definitely the kind of thing I will never eat IRL. This body's human instincts are saying "that's disgusting!" but my dragon instincts are saying this sounds fucking DELICIOUS.

Technically a lot of lizards have a "3rd eye", a patch of photosensitive cells on the top of their head that's used for regulating a reptile's circadian rhythm and pineal gland functions. They can't "see" out of it, only detect light. It's really fascinating stuff!

Not too big of a stretch a dragon would have one too. I'm pretty sure I'd have one in dragon form. Perhaps yours is just further developed than a regular reptile's!

Wake up. Stretch ur wings and spine. Curl into your hoard pile and make loud growly yawning noises. Stay up for hours with your humans and then go back to sleep. Dragon life as of late. I feel good about myself.

DAY 13: hey, how's it going

Honestly, fucking amazing right now. Today was great. I ran until my lungs nearly gave out, and caught my second wind. I think this is what they call a runner's high? I could literally feel the wind under my wings. Gliding across my scales. It was breathtaking.

30 days of Unhinged Otherkin Challenge Day 01: what type of dirt would your kintype eat?

Well, lets see. As a Cybertronian, we don't really "eat dirt" per se.. though, we do consume plenty of minerals and types of rock.

As a canine/feline/vulpine entity, perhaps accidental dirt...? Such as, dirt that flies up into your snout when you're digging or rolling in the mud! Yes!
