The music inside the party was deafening, the bass rattling through y/n’s chest as she weaved through the crowd. It smelled like expensive perfume and alcohol, bodies pressed together in the dimly lit room, but she didn’t care about any of it. Not when her eyes were locked on him.
Riki was leaning against the bar, laughing at something a girl whispered in his ear. She was close—too close—her manicured nails tracing along the sleeve of his jacket like she had every right to be there. And the worst part? He wasn’t stopping her.
Y/n felt her stomach twist, a sick, ugly feeling clawing at her insides. She didn’t move, didn’t say anything. She just stood there, watching, feeling like an idiot for expecting anything different.
She should have left. Should have turned around and walked right out of the party like none of this mattered. But instead, she grabbed a drink off the nearest table and downed it in one go, ignoring the burn in her throat. She needed something—anything—to drown out the anger rising in her chest.
Because this wasn’t supposed to hurt.
They weren’t supposed to be like this.
They were just messing around—no strings, no feelings. That was the deal. That was what Riki wanted.
So why the fuck did it feel like she was suffocating?
She didn’t wait for him to notice her before she turned on her heel and stormed outside, the cold air slapping her in the face as she stepped onto the empty street.
She shouldn’t care. She shouldn’t care. She shouldn’t care.
But she did.
And she hated herself for it.
y/n was halfway down the sidewalk when she heard footsteps behind her, heavy and hurried.
“Y/n—”
She clenched her jaw, her steps quickening. “Don’t.”
“Y/n, stop.”
His voice was sharp, cutting through the night like a knife. She let out a bitter laugh but stopped anyway, turning to face him.
Riki stood there, breathing hard, his jaw tight. He looked frustrated—maybe even angry. Like she was the problem. Like she was the one making things complicated.
“What the fuck was that?” he demanded.
She let out a harsh laugh. “Are you seriously asking me that right now?”
“Yes, I am.” His voice was lower now, more serious. “You just disappeared. You could’ve at least told me—”
“Told you what, Riki?” she snapped, cutting him off. “That I was sick of standing there, watching you flirt with someone else like I don’t even fucking exist?”
His expression flickered, something unreadable passing through his eyes. “It wasn’t like that.”
“Oh, fuck off,” she spat. “It’s always like that. Every single time.”
Riki dragged a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply. “y/n, you knew what this was.”
She laughed again, but this time, it was empty. “Right. No feelings, no expectations. Just fucking and pretending like it means nothing.” She took a step closer, her voice lowering. “But here’s the thing, Riki—I can’t do it anymore. I can’t keep acting like I don’t care when I do. I can’t keep pretending I’m okay with being just another girl you push aside when you get bored.”
His eyes darkened. “That’s not what this is.”
“Then what is it?” she challenged.
He opened his mouth, then closed it.
And that was the problem, wasn’t it?
Riki felt something. She knew he did. It was in the way he kissed her when no one was looking, the way he always pulled her back in after every argument, the way he always found her in a crowded room like he couldn’t help himself.
But he would never say it.
Because if he admitted it, then it would be real. And if it was real, then he couldn’t just walk away when it got too much.
“Say it,” she pushed, her voice trembling now. “Say you don’t feel anything for me, and I’ll walk away right now.”
He stared at her, his chest rising and falling, his hands clenched into fists like he was fighting some invisible war.
Seconds passed. Then more.
And then he shook his head. “You don’t get it.”
“No, you don’t get it,” she shot back. “You’re scared. You’re so fucking scared of actually feeling something that you’d rather push me away than admit it.”
His jaw tightened, but he didn’t deny it.
And that was all the confirmation she needed.
y/n exhaled, taking a step back. Her heart felt like it was being ripped apart, but she forced herself to meet his gaze one last time.
“I can’t be the only one fighting for this, Riki.” Her voice was barely above a whisper now. “If you don’t want me, just say it. Say it so I can stop fucking hurting like this.”
Silence.
His lips parted like he wanted to say something—anything—but nothing came out.
Y/n nodded to herself, swallowing the lump in her throat. “That’s what I thought.”
She turned around and started walking, ignoring the way her vision blurred, ignoring the way her chest ached.
She kept waiting for him to stop her.
But he didn’t.
And that hurt more than anything else ever could.

riki didn’t know why he was still standing at the edge of her apartment complex, hands shoved deep into his pockets, heart hammering like a drum in his chest.
He had walked away, hadn’t he?
He had left.
He had told himself that was it.
But now, with every step he took away from her, he realized just how wrong he was.
He couldn’t forget her.
He couldn’t stop thinking about the way she felt against him, how she tasted, how the world had melted away the second their lips collided.
He was hungry for her.
His body craved her, ached for her. And he couldn’t escape the gnawing feeling that corrupted him
y/n had just finished dealing with errands, her body tired and sore, when she heard the knock at her door. It was a familiar sound, but this time it made her heart skip a beat.
She stood still for a moment, unsure, her mind racing. She hadn’t expected him. Not now. Not after everything.
But the knock came again, more urgent this time.
Slowly, she moved toward the door, her hand resting on the doorknob. She hesitated for a moment, her breath catching. Was she ready for this? Was she ready to face him after everything they’d been through?
She exhaled shakily, steeling herself.
With a deep breath, she opened the door.
riki stood there, his eyes searching hers. There was no anger in them, no bitterness—just something raw, something he couldn’t hide. His face softened when their eyes met, but neither of them said anything at first.
y/n could see the conflict in his gaze. The same ache she had felt. And in that moment, something inside her broke, the walls she had carefully built around her heart cracking just enough to let him in.
She stepped back, silently inviting him in. She didn’t need to say anything. The door was open, and so was she.
riki took a hesitant step forward, the weight of his own emotions making each movement feel like a thousand pound burden. He crossed the threshold, and for a moment, neither of them spoke.
It was as if the simple act of being in the same space again had already begun to fill the gaps that had been left in their lives.
Without a word, y/n closed the door behind him. They stood there for a beat, the air between them thick with unspoken thoughts but y/n could feel the familiar pull toward him, the one that had never really disappeared.
The moment stretched, thick with tension, as riki’s lips brushed against y/n’s skin. Every kiss, every touch, every move made his body ache for more
Her hands slid up his chest, fingers trembling as she gripped his shirt, tugging it off with desperate urgency. His heart pounded against his ribcage as he followed suit, pulling her shirt over her head, revealing the bare skin he’d missed more than he could admit.
He could feel her pulse racing beneath his fingertips, just like his own. They were moving in sync, a rhythm they had never lost, even after the distance, even after the time apart.
y/n’s eyes locked with his—dark, heated, full of need—and in that instant, riki knew there was no turning back. They were both too far gone to stop.
“Tell me you still want me,” y/n whispered, her voice a breathless plea.
riki didn’t think twice. He crashed his lips against hers, his hands roaming down her body as if he were memorizing the feel of her.
“More than anything,” he muttered between kisses. His voice was thick, heavy with desire. “I never stopped wanting you.”
y/n’s hands slid down his back, pulling him even closer, if that was possible. Her body pressed against his, and riki could feel every curve of her, every inch of her.
He couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think.
All he could do was feel.
Her lips parted for him, and he took the invitation, deepening the kiss, pushing her against the bed. He could hear the sound of her breath hitching, feel the way she arched against him, desperate for more.
“Riki…” Her voice trembled, fingers now working at the waistband of his pants.
He groaned, pulling away just long enough to look at her. The hunger in her eyes mirrored his own, and for a split second, he almost lost himself in it.
“y/n…” His voice was strained, barely a whisper. “Are you sure?”
Her answer came in the form of a fierce kiss, one that stole his breath and made his mind spin. She didn’t pull away. Didn’t hesitate. She wanted him.
And that was all the confirmation he needed.
He kissed her again, his hands trailing down her sides, urging her to move with him. Every inch of her body was like fire, like something he could never extinguish, something he would never be able to walk away from again.
They didn’t slow down. Didn’t stop. It was like they were racing against time, against their own resolve, against whatever might come next.
The world outside didn’t exist.
There was only y/n.
And there was only riki.
And they were completely, utterly lost in each other.

It was one of those nights—no schedules, no calls, no cameras. Just them.
y/n was curled up in the corner of the couch, scrolling through her phone, still in riki’s hoodie, the sleeves swallowing her hands. The fabric was warm from his body heat, and the scent of his cologne lingered in the threads, making her feel safe. Riki, on the other hand, was stretched out beside her, long legs sprawled over the cushions, one arm draped lazily over the back of the couch.
They had been quiet for a while, just existing in each other’s space, but riki wasn’t the type to sit still for long.
“You’re too far,” he mumbled, his voice low and slightly raspy from exhaustion.
y/n barely glanced up. “I’m literally right next to you.”
riki, unimpressed with her response, reached out, fingers brushing over the hem of the hoodie she wore. In one swift motion, he tugged her closer, effortlessly pulling her into his lap.
“Riki!” she yelped, but he only smirked, tightening his arms around her waist so she couldn’t escape.
“This is better,” he murmured, resting his chin on her shoulder. His voice was softer now, as if the world outside their apartment didn’t exist—just the warmth of her pressed against him.
Y/n sighed, but she didn’t fight him. Instead, she let herself relax against his chest, her fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns over his arm.
riki hummed, his lips brushing against the curve of her neck,y/n shivered at the feeling, warmth creeping up her spine.
riki, pulling back slightly so he could look at her. His eyes were laced with something unspoken, something soft. His fingers found her cheek, tracing along her jaw before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. Y/n just stared at him, taking in the way his gaze flickered over her face—her eyes, her nose, the curve of her lips.
“What?” she asked, voice quieter now.
riki tilted his head, a lazy smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. “Nothing. Just thinking about how pretty you are.”
y/n rolled her eyes, but the way her fingers curled into his hoodie betrayed her. “You always say that.”
“And I’ll keep saying it.”
He leaned in then, pressing his lips against her temple, then her cheek, then just below her ear, where she was most sensitive. She felt his smirk against her skin when she squirmed.
“Riki,” she warned.
“What?” he murmured, his breath warm against her neck. “I’m just appreciating my girlfriend. Is that a crime?”
Y/n bit back a smile, threading her fingers through his hair as she pulled back just enough to look him in the eyes. “If it was, you’d be in jail by now.”
riki chuckled, but his grip on her waist tightened, his fingers slipping beneath the hoodie to rest against her skin. She felt the warmth of his hands, his touch grounding, familiar.
“Stay like this for a while,” he said, more serious now.
y/n softened. “Okay.”
And so they stayed. Wrapped up in each other, warmth shared in the quiet of the night. It was the kind of love that didn’t need grand gestures or spoken confessions—it was just them. Just love.

Riki wasn’t nervous. He refused to be.
But as he stood outside enhypen’s dorm, hands buried deep in his pockets, he found himself exhaling a little too sharply rolling his shoulders as if to shake off an invisible weight.
It wasn’t that he feared his members wouldn’t like you, that was never a concern. If anything, they would like you too much. You had that effect on people—an effortless warmth, a presence that softened the edges of a room the moment you entered. Everything about you was warm, effortlessly charming, the kind of person who drew others in without even trying. He had seen it firsthand—how people softened in your presence, how even strangers seemed to linger a little longer in conversation with you.
And that’s what worried him
“They’re going to love you” he muttered, more to himself than to you. “A little too much, honestly.”
You turned to him, head tilting slightly, amusement dancing in your eyes. “And why is that a bad thing?”
“Because” he sighed, running a hand through his hair, “I’ll never hear the end of it.”
Before you could reply, the door swung open.
“There he is!” Jake greeted, leaning casually against the doorframe, his gaze flickered to you, and almost immediately, his brows lifted in surprise. His mouth parted slightly before curving into a grin. “and… wow. Hi.”
You offered a polite yet bright smile, shifting slightly closer to your boyfriend. “hi! It’s really nice to meet you.”
Jake hesitated for a beat before turning into the dorm. “Guys, Ni-ki brought someone—”
Riki groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “Oh my god.”
You nudged him playfully, barely suppressing a laugh. “Told you this would be fun.”
Footsteps echoed down the hall as the rest of the members appeared one by one. jungwon approached first, his ever-leaderly composure intact, though curiosity gleamed in his eyes “hi, im jungwon” he said, offering a small smile. “we finally met you!”
“He speaks highly of us, right?” Heeseung quipped, leaning casually against the wall with an amused smirk.
Before Riki could shoot back a sarcastic remark, your soft laughter cut through. “Of course,” you said, nodding. “He talks about you all the time.”
Jay came up eager to see y/n’s presense, his lips curling into an amused smirk. “So, this is the girl who puts up with riki.”
You laughed softly, glancing at riki. “He’s not that bad.”
Sunghoon raised a skeptical eyebrow. “You sure?”
Riki huffed, shooting him a look “I’m right here, you know.”
Before anyone could add another remark, Sunoo stepped forward, eyes briefly scanning your outfit before landing on your nails. “You have really nice style,” he smiled making his eyes twinkle, tilting his head slightly. “The pink suits you.”
Your face lit up. “Thank you! I actually did my nails myself.”
Sunoo’s brows lifted in interest. “Really? That’s impressive. I tried once but got bored halfway through.”
You chuckled. “It takes patience, ki wouldn’t even let me try on him.”
riki scoffed. “Because you picked the brightest pink possible.”
Sunoo smirked. “Yeah… I get why he bailed.”
Laughter rippled through the group as the tension seamlessly melted away. The ease with which you engaged with them, the way you carried the conversation with natural warmth did not go unnoticed. It wasn’t just that they liked you—it was the way you effortlessly blended into the space, as if you’d always been there.
And predictably, the teasing began
“She’s cute” Jay remarked, crossing his arms as he studied riki with a smirk. “Like… really cute.”
Sunghoon nodded in agreement. “I feel like you’re the one who got adopted into her world, not the other way around.”
riki exhaled sharply, shaking his head as his ears tinged a faint shade of red “You guys are the worst.”
His gaze drifted back to you—still bright, still warm, already blending into his world so naturally it was almost hard to believe you hadn’t been there all along.
And suddenly, the teasing didn’t matter so much.
Because, for the first time that day…he realized something
He didn’t just want you to fit into his world.
He wanted to stay in yours, too.
He had spent the entire day dreading this moment, expecting relentless teasing and secondhand embarrassment. And sure, there would be no shortage of that. But watching you laugh, effortlessly fitting in, he felt something settle in his chest—something warm, something right.
Yes, you were his opposite in every way. But somehow, you made everything feel a little lighter. A little warmer.
And despite himself, he knew he wouldn’t have it any other way.

It’s late. The lights from the concert stage have long faded, leaving only the quiet hum of the city beneath the hotel room. Y/n sits by the window, watching the lights flicker below. The glass feels cold against her fingertips, a contrast to the warmth that used to exist between her and riki. But that warmth has been fading—slowly at first, then all at once, like the last ember of a fire dying out.
The door clicks open behind her. She doesn’t turn around. She doesn’t have to. She knows it’s him.
Riki steps inside, still in his stage clothes, his hair a little messy from the performance, but there’s no exhaustion in his posture—only distance. His presence doesn’t fill the room the way it used to. If anything, it makes it feel smaller, suffocating.
y/n swallows the lump in her throat and stands, her heart already racing. “Riki,” she says softly, trying to keep her voice steady. “Are you okay?”
He doesn’t answer right away. He just exhales sharply, dragging a hand through his hair before tossing his bag onto the bed with more force than necessary. The silence stretches between them, thick and unbearable.
And then, without even looking at her, he says, “We need to talk.”
The words hit like a slap. Y/n’s stomach twists painfully, but she forces herself to nod. “Okay,” she whispers. “Then talk.”
Riki finally meets her gaze, and for the first time in weeks, she realizes how far away he already is. There’s something cold in his expression—indifference, maybe, or something even worse.
“I can’t do this anymore,” he says bluntly. “Us.”
y/n flinches. It’s not what he’s saying, it’s how he’s saying it. Detached. Like she’s a problem he’s finally found the courage to get rid of.
“What?” Her voice cracks, but she doesn’t care. “You can’t just—riki, where is this coming from?”
His jaw clenches. He looks away, shaking his head. “Don’t act like you didn’t see this coming. You had to have felt it, too.”
She takes a step forward, desperate, grasping at something—anything. “Felt what? That you’ve been ignoring me? That you’ve been pushing me away?” She exhales shakily. “I thought we were just going through a rough patch. I thought you just needed time.”
Riki scoffs, and the sound cuts through her like a knife. “Time?” He lets out a bitter laugh, finally meeting her eyes again. “Y/n, I’ve been trying. I really have. But I just… I don’t feel the same way anymore.”
The room spins.
No. No, he’s lying. He has to be.
Her hands tremble as she shakes her head. “You don’t mean that.”
“Yeah,” he breathes. “I do.”
The finality in his tone makes her knees go weak.
She lets out a shuddering breath, forcing herself to stand her ground. “So that’s it? You’re just done? Just like that?”
Riki shrugs, like it doesn’t even matter. Like she doesn’t even matter. “It’s not working anymore.”
Y/n stares at him, trying to find something—anything—that resembles the boy she fell in love with. But she can’t. He’s already gone.
“You’re a coward,” she whispers, her voice thick with tears. “You don’t get to stand here and act like I’m the problem. You’re the one who gave up.”
riki’s expression hardens, his gaze sharp. “Maybe I did,” he says coldly. “And maybe you should, too.”
The words steal the air from her lungs.
She bites her lip to stop the sob from escaping, blinking rapidly to clear her vision. But it’s useless. She’s breaking, and he’s just standing there, watching it happen.
Y/n inhales shakily, straightening her posture even though her heart is in pieces. “I hope you realize what you’re throwing away,” she murmurs. “I hope you regret this.”
Riki doesn’t flinch. He doesn’t even blink. “I won’t.”
And that’s what finally makes her stop fighting.
She nods slowly, taking a step back. “Okay,” she whispers. “Then I won’t, either.”
She turns before he can see her cry. Before she can change her mind.
She doesn’t slam the door when she leaves. She doesn’t say goodbye.
She just walks away.
And this time, he doesn’t stop her.

And despite himself, he knew he wouldn’t have it any other way.

y/n had met plenty of people in her life but standing outside riki’s family home felt different. This wasn’t some formal introduction or passing interaction. This was his family. The people who raised him, who knew him in ways she didn’t yet, and she wanted them to like her.
riki, of course, found her nerves amusing.
“You know they’re not scary, right?” he teased, hands in his pockets as he leaned closer to her.
y/n shot him a look. “Easy for you to say. You’re already their favorite.”
“I am their son.”
“Exactly, so I have to compete.”
riki rolled his eyes but smirked anyway. Before he could reassure her, the front door swung open, and his mom appeared with a bright smile.
“There you are! y/n, finally, we meet in person,” she said warmly, immediately reaching out to pull y/n into a hug.
y/n stiffened in surprise for only a second before relaxing into it. the hug wasn’t overwhelming—just warm, like an unspoken you’re welcome here.
“It’s really nice to meet you,” y/n said as they pulled apart, offering a genuine smile.
riki’s mom gave her a once-over, still smiling. “Even prettier than I expected. And you carry yourself so well—ah, I love you already.”
y/n felt her face heat up slightly. “That’s really sweet, thank you.”
Before she could say anything else, a small voice interrupted.
“So this is y/n.”
y/n turned her head to see konon leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, eyeing her with a smirk. Unlike misora, who stood beside her with a more neutral expression, konon had the kind of presence that made it clear she was the older sibling.
“I was wondering when riki would finally bring you over.” konon said, pushing off the doorframe and stepping closer.
riki groaned. “Can we not make this weird?”
konon ignored him, instead looking y/n up and down before nodding. “You’re cool. I like you.”
y/n chuckled, feeling some of her nerves fade. “That’s a relief.”
misora, who had been quieter, finally spoke up. “I’m curious about something.”
y/n turned to her. “Yeah?”
misora tilted her head. “How do you handle him?” She pointed at riki.
y/n blinked before bursting into laughter. “Honestly? I just bully him back.”
konon cackled. “That’s the only correct answer.”
riki scoffed. “You guys are sick.”
His mom just smiled fondly. “Come inside. We were just about to have dinner.”
As y/n stepped in, konon threw an arm around her shoulders like they’d known each other forever, already talking about all the embarrassing childhood stories she planned to share. Meanwhile, misora nudged riki.
“She’s cool,” she said simply.
riki, watching y/n laugh as she got effortlessly pulled into their family dynamic, smiled softly.
“Yeah,” he murmured. “I know.”
