Don't get me wrong; I love KO, I love his character, I love his design (this damn racer-car makes women fall in love and caused a bi/gay panic in men without a doubt), I love his villainous actions, I love his comedy and quotes… but I don't like how he joined the Autobot team in the end. As if the creators had become so attached to him that they didn't have the courage to give him a dead or captured ending.
When you read between the lines, they could have gotten to that same point by making a redemption arc.
Are you still here?
Perfect!
I don't know if this is considered a character rewrite or a "whT IF"; and I'm not a professional writer, just someone who, thanks to a friend, recently got me hooked on the TF fandom and grew fond of this villain, but not enough to forgive the inconsistencies, so consider this a disclaimer of OOC stuff and a canonical character rewrite.
Thanks~
The things I would change are:
Knockout is presented from the start as something "too out of place" for the Decepticons. Of all the vehicles, and being from a faction where aerial vehicles stand out above all else, he chooses a land-based sports car. He often says and cites that he enjoys certain human activities, such as going to the movies or competing in underground races, and if they tolerate him, it's because he was the only medical personnel trained before Shockwave's arrival.
He loves that appearance so much that it's a necessity to maintain it in good condition. I don't know if it was an unconscious idea to emphasize it or if it was always intended to show that he didn't quite fit in with the Decepticons.
Nerf his lab skills=Make him make more mistakes in the lab and be reprimanded. Knockout is a doctor, not a scientist; And even if he could rival Ratchet's abilities, Ratchet had more capability because, in his disadvantaged position, he had to be more resourceful in taking a scientific approach. This is something KO couldn't match, even if he tried. Doing things like stealing information about artificial energon would give him an even bigger chance of victory. Also, even if he didn't receive physical punishment, he'd be terrified knowing that if he doesn't end up like Starscream, it's because he's still useful, but the day someone more capable arrives, he'll already know his fate.
Intentionally ending the rivalries on an unfinished note= I noticed that KO tried to create several rivalries against him that didn't go very far in the end (Bumblebee being a sports car, Ratchet being a doctor, Arcee for… some reason) but that were either cut short or didn't go very far. Okay, I know the most logical thing would be to give him a fixed one and forget about the rest… but… what if we make this point on purpose? And no matter how hard he tries to antagonize someone on the opposing side, he simply can't muster anything but respect for the Autobots? You know… like Bulkhead and Breakdown.
More human fascination= KO is a weirdo because he loves many things of human use and authorship; but it's so easy to imagine that before torturing Jack, he wants to extract more information about human culture or extend the conversation when he kidnaps Agent Fowler or June, that it's a plot that writes itself. Even imagine that, in what begins as manipulation, he befriends a teenager from Jesper to get him up to speed, and in the end, the teenager runs away in fear when he realizes he's a robotic alien. That would make him resent them but also create a need to know more about them. Something that would give him more negative points (and please, someone introduce him to Miko; these two would destroy the world if they wanted to).
Failed escape attempts (aka. Why did he help Starscream assassinate Megatron?)= Okay, I've already included the points where he doesn't quite fit in. Doesn't ends up hating the Autobots and he doesn't end up hating humans. What's his best bet? that while Megatron is offline he tries to manipulate Starscream to be able to leave the ranks and take advantage of any weak point so that they leave him alone... something that didn't end up happening but he was able to manage to get out of it, but at the same time feeling envious of Starscream's expulsion.
Breakdown= okay, let's talk about the conjunx... and how it's a [___] that they gave us absolutely nothing about their reaction to those events!! I'll deliberately ignore the series' clear censorship of calling them conjux → patners because we all know this. I could indicate Breakdown as the indirect trigger for Knockout's change of attitude as light mentions; as the resignation of remaining in the nemesis to risk changing sides after some thoughts from the episode "Operation: Breakdown" and other events lead Breakdown to doubt out loud whether it's still worth it to continue on the side of the cons' at that point. and that the facts surrounding his death and the theft of his body by Sylas are deliberately omitted towards him by order of Megatron to avoid deteriorating his work. and his empty reaction is due to a set of mixed feelings = anguish over his death, anger at what they did to him, anger because his own side lied to him, an uncontrollable desire to harm everyone and especially Silas... etc. He starts sabotaging, damaging, hurting or doing anything without his tracks being discovered by applying a "fragged me, fragged everyone!". In his lowest and cruelest moments he mutters things that perhaps Breakdown would like that... but he knows that's not true.
Alliance and union with the Autobots = After many things and thinking about running away, he prefers to give up, already fed up with all that, unlike Starscream. With less hostility but with all his sarcasm, he helps the Autobots and ends up becoming one even though he doesn't really want to (in fact, he would joke that he thought he would have at least a couple of groons in jail). For a moment he considers that it would be better to stay on Earth than return to Cybertron, claiming that he had unfinished business in the earth and that he could avoid jail if he revealed all the information that the Decepticons had that he knew. He doesn't feel he deserves the badge or to be called that; but since he's switched sides, at least he'll do it by opening his mouth as wide as possible to even the odds.
And that's all~
I know it's not much or the most refined ideas; but it's what occurred to me. I also didn't want to include Airachnid or any revenge against her because... it actually makes sense that he doesn't know it was her but rather Sylas all along.
And as a bonus, that strange habit of admiring something beautiful only to immediately destroy it would disappear.
and thanks to a problem I had in September with u I couldn't participate in the bassrock Week… BUT- I can still publish a drawing of these two lovebirds, taking advantage of the fact that this week I have fewer things to do and it's not Halloween at all.
I realized that Glam's clothes looked too boring and simple, is a redesign okay?
«watch out on the high seas with the so-called "Sonho-O´Dama", a woman with a paraffin lamp and a disturbingly smiling face; If she gets on your ship, treat her carefully, because by making her angry, she will become a nightmare the rest of your life until the day you die…»
-anonymous surviving narrator of a visit from the Sonho-O´Dama
“Fairy in her time of piracy, after certain circumstances that led her to become a marauder who wandered aimlessly between ships to survive before meeting Dragon and his army, and in turn her appearance on them became a living legend to fear both pirates and marines (although he was scarier on purpose with marines, since she hates them for personal reasons). In the blue orient, this legend is known as "the white lady" or "the lady with the paraffin lantern", being a well-known character to scare children of being rebellious and rude with the phrase "If you don't behave well, the white lady will grab your feet and drag you into the sea with her.
Bueno bueno bueno...
Well well well ... After 84 years without publishing anything (and after an inconvenience with my previous computer plus the university and the preventive quarantine) I finally published something; a MHA OC ...
This was only a practice sheet as I adapted a bit to the style of this peculiar anime; someday I will make a detailed explanation of kotton-chan ok?
I don't have much to say, beyond that these are some of her appearances both in her time as piracy and retirement as a mother in the care of her little devil baby.
ohh; and a little more about his akuma no mi. she is/was (?) a user of the Yume Yume no mi; a paramecia-type fruit that turned her into a dream woman. As a base power, she can create small cloud-like masses called "cumulu onniricus" that puts anyone to sleep by contact putting them to sleep (with certain exceptions; such as a person with narcolepsy or who has haki protected the area she has touched), varying the amount of time the sleeper spends by the time of contact or the mood of its user (being heavier and longer dreams if he is in a bad mood, and if he is truly upset with his victim he could leave sleeping from days to weeks). this ability exhausts her; for she exhausts her own energies. She can also alter the mood of a sleeping person causing sweet dreams or terrible nightmares. when she sleeps she can separate her consciousness from her body similar to Brook, keeping her body sleeping when this happens.
over time (and part of her awakening) she can leave her body in a "somnambulistic state" which allows her to separate her consciousness from her body, but it is no longer unprotected and continues to perform the functions it did before and the ability to manipulate to deceive large crowds of people into "collective dreams".
And continuing with one or another redesign, we continue with the one that deserved to go to Boom # 2 (number 1 is Cream, I have no proof but no doubts>: v)
She doesn't have so many differences from her original counterpart either, she's a very high caliber bounty hunter; so much so that among all the villains hedgehog they consider her a legend quite feared and respected among all (especially by TW. Barker, is her ex). She works for Blaze's mother this time but if you promise her a good deal of treasure she will commit a robbery for you.
She tends to pretend to be a renegade gogoba using her wings as a cape, which in turn uses as an extra pair of arms to steal small things. She is also said to be a friend of a certain dark hedgehog (and although he denies it, he loves her too much.)
Funfact: Bubba tried by all means to negotiate not to wear the Mrs. Peacock dress; from trying to exchange his position with Hoppy as "Mr. Green" or to get the fault and wear the suit... it should be noted who he asked to get the "NO" given.
he resigned himself and tries to play the role with decency
Introducing Bubba Bubbaphan as... Mrs. Peacock.
This is the central point of the AU itself; and if you were expecting something romantic... well, you're wrong. Catnap and Dogday starts their relationship off on the wrong foot. And they had several stages before it became functional. So, here are the stages:
Catnap and a group of soldiers from the Empress's household of Crimson Noir invaded Astrawald's capital in a desperate attempt to regain status (I'll explain why in a future illustration), as it's a territory the Empire has always targeted. However, they were disastrously surprised when the Gaudanado civilians knew how to defend themselves to the point of causing trouble. Furthermore, the man who seemed to be in charge did something unthinkable for everyone: hurting the imperial prince, who is a fighting machine. The prince was able to remove his mask, and realizing he was extremely young and beautiful, something instinctive in him told him, "I want him for myself." In a macabre deal, he placed him face to face with his latest trick: a poppy gas bomb, the most dangerous weapon in the world. It was either go with him or he would blow up the entire capital.
Once in the empire things for Dogday were completely uncomfortable: the emperor instead of stopping the madness despite initially believing that he was committing a "gypsy wedding" tries to cover up the whole act and start doing everything possible to make it someone "civilized" so that the empire would finally have access to the almost infinite resources of the empire (since the empire is going through a serious season of famine because the territories they have conquered left the arid land on purpose and the territory of Astrawald is known as a virgin and fertile land for any crop) exclaiming Dogday as the best trophy that his empire could ever obtain; returning to him his status as a legitimate prince.
Added to that, he has to endure the hostile environment of high society, the mistreatment of the wet nurse designated to reeducate him, who has no privacy because a few hours after being in his room they discovered that he was "a false man" and suffer for clothes and food. so after having to endure Catnap's courtship it's just a joke in bad taste.Catnap, for his part, begins to get frustrated because Dogday treats him with rejection; even more so because none of the advice he gives him works, he is even more frustrated when "the saintia", the most powerful authority figure outside the control of the emperor and the church, announces that she would be Dogday's godmother, voicher and guardian; someone who could help him not only delay the wedding date as long as possible but also contact Gaudanado allies to get out of there ASAP.
Even so, Catnap still had more power than him and tried his best to make him play his game… until…
Dogday was already lost regarding Catnap and everything that surrounded him= he's a prince; but everyone speaks in a pitiful way and that they will be surprised that the Emperor returned his influence of the crown, saying things like they would have to find a new imperial family and that this one would fall very soon… it was something that was rumored throughout high society, but he was not clear about one thing.
One night of a full moon, where he goes to complain about Catnap's abandonment of him at a party where he got into a fight, he discovers something interesting: the "sick" prince is actually cursed with a beastly form every full moon. And if it became known, it could undermine the image of the imperial family if it became public. The reason he was desperate to find something or someone to give himself power. With this information, for the first time, Dogday had an advantage over Catnap; he has power over Catnap. But even in his innocence and naivety, with this information, he decides to make a deal with the prince: annul the engagement (with the power he acquired through his kidnapping and engagement) and free them, in exchange for not making the information public and asking Bobby to treat his curse. And the slightest sign that the cat fails to comply with this agreement, he will immediately open his mouth, and Bobby has the right to stop the treatment.
Catnap was stunned; it was the most merciful thing anyone had ever done to him, and he didn't know how to react. There was no lying, no malice; his actions were clear, and even Dogday was helping him!
He learns more about Dogday while being cursed; he knows he was cultured because he knows manners and how to interact with foreign visitors (and not precisely because of the witch of a wet nurse assigned to re-educate him), but when he watches over him during full moons, he learns what a Dogday is like without the need for that facade of hostility he was forced to build. He felt that bestial side that wanted Dogday all to himself was growing, but at the same time, the rejection made it all the more devastating to know that Dogday didn't want to have that same interest; he forced himself to find any reason to reject him, even if they had interests in common. In a question, already frustrated, he asked him why he did this, and the answer Dogday gave him was "It doesn't matter that you are the sweetest man in the world, you threatened me, you kidnapped me, and you're using me for power… you can't ask a prey to see you as an equal if you, as a hunter, haven't put down your weapon."
A night, the karma hits him in the form of a legitimate Gaudani soldier who not only overwhelms him, but also defeats him and cuts off any chance he has of calling for reinforcements. When he realizes that this soldier is there to kill him… Dogday interrupts and recognizes the soldier, calling him "Big Bro" and intervening, telling him they'd only be in bigger trouble if they killed him. Things only got worse when he discovered that Dogday's older brother was actually Luke Meowluck (introducing himself as "the middle Gaudani Solaris Luke"), the third son of the royal family from which his mother came, and who was going to take over as Catnap due to his "illness" until he was on his way to Crimson Noir in a storm. That is, the person who was going to replace him, and who even wielded more power than he did now. He said without a shred of doubt that he wasn't interested in ruling the empire because he owed his life to Astrawald and being a complete person to his parents, the Gaudani, and his younger brother. If the prince didn't decide to free his little brother ans their friends, he would use the influence he had both within and without to force them to do so within two weeks, or they would have to choose between paying for the artificial power of his crown to fall, or worse.
There he realized that if Dogday only defended him, it was to minimize the reprisals that would fall on him and his friends. He didn't want his company; no matter how hard he tried, Dogday only showed genuine interest in him, ever since he learned of his curse and wanted to help him, hoping that once he was cured, he wouldn't need him. He felt angry when he realized that he wasn't allowed to claim anything from him. He created an environment where he could only react in this way and create meaningful bonds with everyone in the palace and beyond… except for him.
In that time when time ran out, a desperate measure against Dogday was born = several explicit assassination attempts, both commanded by the emperor (because if he died and they could erase his traces he could blackmail the Elder Gaudani to ask them for whatever he wanted to repatriate his body) or with the church of prototypism (who already had their eye on him, because his mere presence and influence were already a big problem and they wanted to get rid of him). At first, it was attempted in a short period of time; but the situation and the injuries overwhelmed him and in all the attempts, Catnap intervened in several receiving the wounds to protect him; even on one occasion where one of the stewards turned out to be a murderer, he preferred to reveal his full moon appearance rather than have Dogday hurt. He truly regrets the huge gap of distrust he created on a whim and a thirst for power that involved them in something absolutely unrelated and wants to remedy the damage he caused to Dogday's trust in him from day 0.
Catnap makes an active effort to stop his father no matter what he would lose… and Luke certainly made good on his threat.
In an essay, the ambush that Catnap carried out on their capital was returned to them, led by the Elder Gaudani. The Middle Gaudani, his troops, and they surrounded the imperial palace. The emperor had no choice but to give in, dissolve the engagement, and pay the price for having attempted a gypsy wedding. Several past incidents involving the empire and the Gaudani were revealed, which they would also have to face; among them, the disappearance of Luke, which his country never assumed, the attack on his family, and a well-deserved treatment so that the prince would not die until he paid his debts. And the Elder Gaudani, influenced by his children, demanded that Catnap stand up and pay for the crimes he committed (incidentally, preventing the emperor from stripping Catnap of his power once he was out, which would be more beneficial to Catnap than to the emperor). Before they left, Catnap actually begged him to know why he helped him even with that. With a smile, Dogday tossed him a raven scroll and told him he was giving him a chance to meet the real Catnap, without the deals, traps, titles, plans, plots, and all the entanglements he created, but from a distance. This time, Dogday was the one setting the rules of the game, and he only gave one: be yourself.
It wasn't a goodbye… it was a "see you later."
I don’t know what to share about my life anymore to get people’s attention. We are a family of ten trying to survive in northern Gaza. Our landlord keeps increasing our rent, and we will be at the mercy of the drones and the tanks if we have to leave, on top of having to leave behind all of our belongings. Every kind of food at the market now costs a fortune and there are no jobs available due to the dangerous situation outside, so we have to fully rely on this campaign.
Please help, I swear I’ll be thankful for anything. Share at least if you can’t afford to donate.
