interesting how transmascs & transfems alike think losing weight is the answer to pass as our chosen gender.... almost as if fat people are never Truly afforded a passing gender regardless of trans status. as fat people we are never Truly seen as Men or Women. anyway fuck that notion & if u think u need to lose weight to pass that's the devil talking
really interesting to see the chapter in its context. Let’s chat
AFO here is trying to dismiss Katsuki completely as nothing, everything he does meaningless -yet he says something really interesting in my opinion. He is basically in denial about him lol, so its relevant everything he claims is not happening: "there's no value" there is value, "there's no meaning" there's a meaning, "there's no connection", there's is a connecting force.
He is getting more and more angry because is happening what happened so long ago; not because he just looks like him, but because this person who seems to never stop, fast and insane, is connected and close to OFA, to what seems to be the only way to get to his brother. AFO is afraid because he feels what he felt then -two people so connected, it pushes him away from what he wants.
That's the thing about this manga, emotions and people! Emotions are what move people, and what can be used in your own terms when accepting them; when feeling something strong between two people, or more, it can get out of control easily.
Now this one.
Im not a fan of how it sounded like in the leaks, when I believe there's more to it than meets the eye.
First of all previously he is talking pretty... insane tbh. He is hurting a lot and you can tell, delirious even I would say; for example, he says out loud he can't stop and that its going too fast, in a irregular tone too, which I find relevant to understand the whole context. Considering that happened before these phrases and that he looks like a gremlin in the panel he is thinking this, with AFO being like "wtf is wrong with him" as one of the main focuses, I think this is showing how he feels like he can even surpass him, yes -but he also wonders why. Its not clear what the "why" is as far as I know (some leakers and translators assume this is about "why would I think about not catching up to you when I could surpass you", but not really obvious if the context doesnt give other option or if they interpret it that way), so I might give my thoughts about it:
"I wonder why? I feel like I can surpass [you] now" as in "I wonder, why I feel this way now". I get that it doesnt say directly "why I feel I can surpass you", but while reading it I just got this understanding still. Him wondering why before he felt he couldn't even get close to him, and why now he feels he could even go beyond him.
Because he is here.
When Deku was gone he gave his best, nobody can take that away from him no matter what, but he also was more emotional, vulnerable in that way, talking to Deku when he wasn't even there; he was sure he would die, and he accepted it because he needed to win this, because that's what he should do. Now? He is not that willing, he'll come back from the death in order to do what he always does: win.
That's the thing guys...! He didn't feel like a winner when Izuku was gone and he fought "alone" against shigafo, he was trying to buy time for the rest -putting his needs last, just like him.
Izuku is here now, and he feels like himself again; yes he incorporates stuff that he shares with Deku, but wow he really couldn't smile like that before. He was willing to die in the fight, but he didnt feel like he could ever win it, and now? Everything has changed, because his motivation and hero is there, giving his all.
It feels familiar, comforting even in the worst physical condition -he just can laugh about it. He is losing control and it hurts and its crazy but fuck he feels like a winner, he feels like Kacchan.
He is himself, even a childish version because he feels like it; he died. Let's not forget he was dead, let's not forget he has so much to experience and how AFO seems so meaningless after that. The childish nickname being used here, the parents appearing and pointing out he is smiling like he always does... makes me think this can be true. Katsuki is his own person, full of depth, flaws and qualities like them all, but he can't be Kacchan without him, just as much as Izuku cant be Deku.
For him to be able to laugh, scream, provoke anger in such state, even make fun of The Villain, its like things feel more right with him; and they really do, don't they?
After all, Katsuki was able to stop being scared when he focused on Izuku before he died, and with him by his side Kacchan can be his crazy self all he wants.
Kacchan is a pretty calm person when Izuku isnt looking, and when he could, he just has to make the biggest show.
there's something very uniquely evil in the fact that the food aid dropped to gazans by the US wasn't halal
Just to be abundantly clear,
This Account Stands With Palestine.
A majority of us BKDKs never believed the ship would become canon. That was never really on the table.
What it is about, is 10 years of character and relationship development completely nuked for the establishment of a different relationship that had faded into the background at best for a lot of that time.
Izuku and Katsuki are important to one another. There's zero denying that. Katsuki died for Izuku. All of his scars come from protecting Izuku in one way or another. Katsuki was devastated when he learned of OFA's loss. He worked for eight years to make sure Izuku could live out his dream.
Izuku has looked up to Katsuki since they were children. He lost the plot multiple times when Katsuki was insulted or in trouble. Shigraki himself said Katsuki was closer to Izuku than anyone else.
And all of that development brought us zero discussions about what they've been through. No talk about the impact of Katsuki's death. No talk of Katsuki's apology. No talk about Izuku's feelings about the demise of his dream. Instead, we got Izuku rejecting the idea of being partners with Katsuki, something his character for the entirety of the series would have undoubtedly loved.
Yes, people can grow apart. But show me that. Give me background on why. Give me something, anything that would explain why the Izuku at the end of the epilogue is in diametric contrast to the Izuku we saw at the end of chapter 430.
These two characters mean so much to me. I don't see myself in their story, but the love (whether platonic or otherwise) and care that they show for each other speaks to me so deeply. Katsuki's growth as a person and Izuku's acceptance of and willingness to forgive Katsuki no matter what speaks to me so deeply, and to see that thrown away stings.
It's not about the ship. It was never really about the ship.
We'll get through this!
Yesterday marked the 100th day of genocide. Please, do not get used to this. Our people, killed, bombed, kidnapped, stripped, executed and starved is not normal. Our kids in pieces, their body parts collected in bags is not normal.
Israel has killed 23,700 human. More than 10,300 child. We'd need 177 school bus to carry the Palestinian children killed by Israel in gaza. 10,022 fatherless child. 8,352 motherless child. The wounded have their wounds rot and die waiting in front of the crossing. Maggots seen inside alive people's wounds. 5,500 pregnant woman will give birth in the upcoming weeks. 100 Days of Genocide. 100 Days of the world watching silently.
