Children make up half of the population of Gaza and nearly a million of them are currently displaced. They are forced to take shelter in unsafe buildings and makeshift camps. It is winter in Gaza, so the temperatures are getting colder and it is harder and harder to find warmth and the resources necessary to keep warm. Not even hospitals and schools are safe from bombing. The chicken are not safe from being taken hostage. They do not get enough food or water on a daily basis. The children of Gaza are by definition starving. Over 80% of Palestinian children are suffering from depression. Over 10,000 children have lost limbs in 3 months. They are going through extreme medical procedures without any painkiller or anesthetic. The watch their parents and family die in front of them and then are forced to continue in alone to try to ensure their own safety. And despite the horror that they have to go through on a daily basis, they still are finding joy and hope. They are stronger than every single one of us and if you are able to look at all the images and videos and stories that come out on an hourly basis of what these children are going through and are still not able to take it seriously you are treating them no better than Israel is.

I know you have all probably seen the esims for gaza posts circulating. Bisan is calling for another global strike!

I saw some posts just outlining Jan 21st, and wanted to clarify that Bisan has called for a full seven days of action.

What a global strike would look like is:

calling in sick to work

purchasing bare essentials ahead of the week so you can observe the general boycott of goods / buying as little as you genuinely can

putting in a concerted effort to elevate Palestinian voices and make it clear that this strike is in support of a permanent ceasefire!

Here is some of my fave zosan fics. Some of these I read years ago and so I don't fully remember what theyre about but they we're good enough that I still have strong emotional attachments when I see the name. Most of them are things I've read recently. Literally all I do all day is homework and have an app tts fanfics to me like an audio book so there's quite a few of recs here. I am not the best at summeries but just trust me bro these are GOOD SHIT. I only provide the best. What I consider a good fic: - Takes place in the one piece world (I don't like modern aus) - Characters stay in character or if they do have changes from their canon portrayal there is a justifiable reason from within the story. - Solid story telling and arcs (even the shorter fics) - The Zosan dynamic is kept mostly how it is in canon they fight and bicker. (I know some like when they're soft with eachother like a loving married couple. You won't find much of that here) - Some of these have pervy sanji, que nose bleeds and ogling. With that out of the way here's the list!! Now to my fave zosan fic of all time and ironically enough the only fic taking place in a modern setting: Life is fine series. TW: Drug abuse, heavy angst, depression I have reread this twice and forced a friend to read it too. It is so amazing not just for the zosan but for the genuinely good story telling. You follow zoro reeling from his sudden loss of relationship with Sanji and falling down a...Well uh, path. It's fucked it's dark it's depressing and its fucking riviting. Ok this is 152k long its pretty insane. It regoes over the arcs so throughly so carefully that I literally had to question my memory because I havent experienced alot of these arcs in a while (it's one of the reasons im rewatching one piece). I will say despite how amazing and well written this is I had a hard time comprehending sometimes. now I was sick at the time of reading this so that might be why but sometimes the way things were phrased felt like yoda talking. I think it's just me though. I'm not used to big words :( And thats a wrap!! These arent even all the ones I wanted to include I have at least 20 more off the top of my head but I'll save that for another day. The ease in which Palestinian men are dehumanized. People saw those lineups of halfnaked men and there was relatively no international uproar. Is sexual violence against our men permissible for some reason as long as you write them off as "terrorists"? Humiliation is part of the colonizers' playbook after all. I love how the raws for this chapter specifically use the wording to explain how and why Izuku is going to save Tomura, because it has constantly been emphasising that above all else and despite everything he's done Tomura is a human being.

And I just love that because ultimately that is the heart of the story, that no matter what; the main reason people become villains is because their humanity is denied to them. we've seen it with Toga, with Dabi, with Spinner and now most recently All For One himself, who has yet to even have a name or identity outside of being a villain. And it's so refreshing for Izuku to understand that to an extent, (even if he doesn't get it fully) and why wouldn't he? he's spent the majority of his life being treated as less than human by most of society just for being quirkless so, it's only natural that he would be one of the first hero's to connect the dots.

I also love the little touches with Tomura where we can see that despite denying his humanity he still can't help himself, when he learns of All For One's death despite not feeling sad he still has gratitude towards him despite everything he's done, when he goes to decay Mount Fuji he thinks of Spinner and what he said his dream was. And I just can't help but find it funny, he's trying so hard to deny that there is any humanity or good in him left when it is so obvious that there is.

Hell, even All For One "the demon lord" still couldn't deny his own humanity in the end.

everything they do (as heinous as it is) there is still something so fundamentally human about it. Because even if people refuse to admit it, it's human to want people to see you, it's human to want others to care about your pain, it's human to want the people you believe are contributing to your pain to suffer as well. Every act they take is etched with raw humanity in it, which in turn makes it so fascinating when even they try to deny it despite how clearly they want to be seen and cared for.

but yeah that's just my long winded rant to say I really like this chapter and the dialogue, I just hope the official translations don't botch it. Because it is extremely important for this message in particular to get across to fully understand and appreciate the story of bnha.
