She’s killed worlds, saved them too. She knew when to watch and when to intervene. She’s old, not by her standards but everything around her will die before she looks 30. She’s seen all the horror that can happen to people, the horror. She knows about the world and what’s in it, how it turns, what we eat, how the paint and soil can change our lives. But she’s never known soft, *soft* only existed when she was a baby, until they stopped swaddling and started taking samples.
Her face is bright, I think it’s how she blushes. She has never experienced such love, I move my hand up her neck. She turns away. The greatest love she’s ever had was between soldiers, “I’ll carry you off this battlefield, you will fight again, I promise.” How close did she get? She knows she wants it but not know what *it* is. My thumb moves across her cheek, she gasps. She’s never surprised, maybe she had an epiphany. Did the soldiers in those barracks and safe houses ever kiss? Did they touch out of pure affection? Did she ever want to do that too? She told me before, stories of how they’d bump shoulders, high-five, and butt foreheads. I’ll do the same, I put my forehead against hers, she turns back to me. That expression, trying to look stern, her lips tremble, cute…..
She’s the oldest and wisest life I have ever seen. Mature since she was 4. But when it comes to love she’s like a child about to go on a roller coaster for the first time; scared and ready. The feeling is familiar and distant.
“I love you,” are the words I put my soul into.
“I- I love you, please let me be- uh… of use to… you,” her eyes sparkle, a new beginning, she wants to be mine. Yes, you will be, a promise sealed with a kiss.
I want someone to look at me and think “what a beautiful existence.”
I want someone to put their hand upon my cheek and feel whole when I lean into their warmth.
I want you to stop, before this goes any further. Are you sure this is real? Are you absolutely positive you aren't hiding or running away from something? Because while I'd love for this to happen, for it to mean something, I also love you as a person. You're so pretty, and smart, and before you say you're not you know more about your obscure little bands and your favorite animals than I ever could. I wish I could stay with you every day and hear you talk about them. The way you push through when things have gone to shit and how you complain about the messes of life. you're like a firework, bright, captivating– But darling even on the 4th of july the fireworks stop and the sky dims. I know you're still there when the show is over, I can smell it in the air. I can see what's left in the grass under the light of the fireflies. so please, tell me, do you really love me like this? because if you do ill love you back so hard the fireworks will be considered missiles, but if you are hiding, if im the house you hide in so that the illegal fireworks aren't found, please tell me. Because if this is just a hiding place for your soul ill help you find a place where you can be captivated, uninterrupted. you shouldnt be cooped up by untrue love, even if i want that love to exist more than anything. I care about you as a living soul.
It’s real wild how you can enjoy something on your own wholeheartedly but as soon as you find others whole love it just as much it feels 100% more intensity kind of love.
I think a lot about gaining weight as a form of healing
Some people don’t deserve their redemption arcs and forgiveness. Such as abuseive parents, mass murders (in a realistic world or one with little violence etc.) people who’s we know won’t change, and people who have used up all their last chances. We shouldn’t support mass forgiveness of absolute evil people. I’m not saying we should not support the people who can change I’m saying the people who dont want to either need help or don’t deserve offerings of redemption.

So, it's either.
"Yes sir, I'll bring him home at 7pm"
Or "Your son calls me daddy too"
