Personally I don't like the racebending in the show and I feel like in an effort to be more diverse they just added in a multitude of more problematic things, like the underlying implications of two mulatto people in New orleans who would be 'free' but now are owned by a vampire master who likeable or not is still controlling them in some way and prohibiting them from true freedom.

Like if that was the intention to make it more thought provoking cool, but I wonder if they understand the audience mainly being full of people who are more excited to see hookups between the two main character than put forth much deeper thought to the dynamic between louis and lestat in a more analytical way. That is truly horror, and maybe that was the intention but in this day and time I think the fandom culture is quicker to be happy about poc's in such a popular show than think of all the problematic themes in the vampire chronicles.

I don't mean problematic in the way most people do, like they should apologize or cancel the show, no on the contrary, I am glad the show is unapologetic in a way, the burden falls more on the viewer to see the deeper message being put in the story.

I feel like personally I will just keep my own thought and character castings to myself because I'm a total perfectionist with that sort of thing. I love realms of atlantis which everybody hates, and I have a 2 billion dollar budget in my head for that book that I don't think will ever be matched by any studio. But yeah, I never even watched the show but I wanted to say this cause I do like a few of the vc's books. Lestat to me is the best character but it's like nobody can get him right, tom cruise did a good job but still not quite lestat is such a rare character that's been crafted so spectacularly I don't think a live action version in this era...could ever do him justice, it's either too masculine or too modern day pretty boy like I just can't figure out how he's supposed to look in a way that would be timeless.

Also with people confusion on why the vamps male at least regardless of all the tension never get together in that way..... I don't know I think it's artistic preference, after writing fiction myself I completely get it now. There are some stories certain things just don't happen. Like idk. I don't think it's that deep. It's' like how on some tv shows the parents never kiss but on others they do. Writers at times just write what comes to them.

Also it's very likely that anne saw lestat and louis as a different alternative version of herself and her husband, in a way, not completely, so maybe she didn't feel comfortable writing super passionate scenes like that with them.

I really don't know cause lestat did get with women...so like seriously I don't know.

That's very interesting. It's possible that she didn't want to say it or there wasn't terminology for this back then but maybe the character weren't actually into guys, weird with all the tension, but it's possible the male vamps had a more animal like dominant submissive thing going on which isn't necessarily as humans put it romantic.

(Which is another thing I think the network screwed up on but I get it seeing that they are concerned about viewership. Which is the entire reason they have a business in the first place.)

It's completely different. Which is a part of the reason why I liked the book it used predictable themes and taboo's but didn't go about it in the way you'd expect. It makes them more real to me. People are hardly ever predictable.

dude that's two kpop people in a hbo show warner bros is now officially seeking outside talent due to so many bad decisions they desperate.. so my idea that there would be a dc movie or show with a kpop star is not far off. the difference in interactions when a group is active is like so... Because like on record he was the closest to mark but their personalities don't match. Onscreen he was mark's bugaboo but like as soon as the jig was up it was like they act like 3rd cousin /step siblings. With Lucas he actually wrestled him, which he's never done before with a group member so that's like the most normal male bond he's had. Eggso is like obsessed with the skinship fanservice to the point I don't even know how fans react anymore. They just keep pushing the boundaries. He was trained in that 2nd 3rd gen style of fanservice inspired by Japanese fanservice which is extreme. For me it's like a psychological phenomenon to observe. But it's always the lack of emotion for me. Studying american celebs and how they are in relationship makes it so obvious to see kdolls have BOUNDARIES heavy ones, there's things from debut to retirement they won't do. They might grind and have fun but there's limits. It's different for each person. Sadly people only analyze for what they wanna see. pout pout.

taeyong and him were like so adorbs they had such a special bond i cry. like I wanna analyze them but like..i dunno. I just don't like the shipping thing why can't people appreciate a special bond between two people without making it smexual. People are terrible. It was just so funny how in kai's mind him and taemin were gonna be the one's who stuck together in the group and taemin was like nope and started mingling with new people. Then he tried to cling to baekyun and he was busy being the leader. Ten may have intimidated him a bit because he's very out there and free. I caught mark scolding him multiple times and telling him to get off his phone. Hilarity. So then he realized Taeyong was an option and ..wah there's so many things. All fluff aside I think they may have boxed it out a few times and I think sm should release that footage
