I like to think of Cider being something like that... a sheep on a wolf costume.
Cause if you pay attention to how he acts during his two appearances, is interesting that despite being a villain Cider never harms civilians and he only wants to steal money but unlike other criminals he never tried to kill or harm unless they attack him first. He seems like a decent guy deep inside.
I actually write some snipets of Cider x Deku for another blog.
Super rare pair I know, but hear me out, I love the idea of Midoriya having being friends and later having a romantic relationship with a small criminal that isn't a total lose cause. Cider fits that description and they would look very good together.
One of the small drabbles I made was about Cider protecting Midoriya from Bakugou when they were in middle school. Cider beated the shit out of Bakugou and recovered Izuku's notebook to give it back to him, and since then he waits Izu after he finish the school day just to watch for him he goes home (Cider is in love but a bit clueless about his own feelings).
Also the idea of Midoriya having a fire quirk and got with a water user like Cider makes the ship even better. I'm weak for elemental pairs.
You can't imagine how much I love the Cider House leader guy...
A minor villain has no right to look so cool, badass and handsome like he does.
Also he probably got the best water quirk of the series.
Also he got so much sassy energy on top of having such insane drip.
Being one of his like 3 fans isn't easy, but still love him.
I bet she would say something like "I gonna take a shower ;)" but she doesn't close the bathroom door, so when Cider walks in he sees her behind the plastic curtains of the shower and almost pass after see that.
She probably expects him to join her in the shower hehe.
The whole cinderIzu is great and I welcome with open arms. For my au, I have an idea for them meet.
Again, BK is a footnote in her life and Izumi is not dedicating all her time and energy in thinking of him. (She hears how his quirk remains the same, no quirk awakening bs, how bk's attitude got worse and how Aizawa is sure BK is the future)
Izumi hears about the mpa here and there and ...is not impressed. She needs money, her group can't work by luck...they need ration and more, and Izumi is not happy ReDestro has "schools" for kids to learn their quirks...its just a camp where the kid learns how to use their quirk AND NOTHING ELSE (Geten my be alliterate here)
Stealing from Redestro is not something she can pull off on her own. She needs help to do this heist.
(the quirk schools aren't illegal, per se, but it rubs Izumi in the wrong way. She is right)
Enters Cinder. He shows up with his helmet, all gear up and...well, he too needs money and Mr. Youtsubashi is loaded and if he wants to make quirk schools, fine...let's rob the fucker.
Izumi gawks as Cinder removes his helmet. He is handsome and cute...she wasn't expecting this.
Lol
(I love a good mask reveal!)
I also live for the moments when a character takes of their mask and reveals to be hot, and Cider isn't the exception. I mean can you blame Midoriya for what him?
Note: Izu probably loves in particular the little scar Cider got in his eyebrown, he/her found that detail to be especially sexy.
...
Is funny you mention the whole plot of Cider helping Izu to steal stuff from Re-Destro company, as I also have this idea of him making an operation to steal from a werehouse full of valuable tech and support items that Detnerant (I think that's the company name) sells into the black market.
They would have success stealing a lot of merch they later sell to get money, but also Cider found a particularly expensive prototype of a high tech glider he decides to keep for himself and use to compliment his surfing style. As Mizunami is really into surfing in my AU, like he seems to be in canon.
Oh I forgot to mention before but the vigilante name Cider/Mizunami will use for my AU will be "Splashdown". Be free to use it if you like the name.
And since you mentioned Geten here, do you think he will have some role in the story? As I mentioned before I love the idea of Cider being a Himura, but also he probably was rejected by his clan because his quirk is water instead of ice and the Himuras seems to be the kind of elitist jerks to would dishonor a child for born with a "imperfect" quirk.
Which would create a lot of tension between Cider and Geten, especially is they reconogice each other. Geten hating Cider for being "a failed Himura" and Cider will hate Geten because he's just a "an attack dog" for Re-Destro.
You can't imagine how much I love the Cider House leader guy...

I just want them to get back together in some way or another
The term ugly hot exist, but hey who really decides who is ugly and who isn't?
There's also different kinds of beauty... and I like variety rather to stick to a very specific kind of men.
Fellas, it is weird to find collarbones to be extremely attractive?
Cause I do like them...
I wish I have more collarbone pics of Nine...
And not from MHA but Eren certainly has some sexy looking collarbones:
My mind goes crazy right now.
Nine and Rody were the only movie characters in MHA that I really liked. Those two are very popular. However because they are movie characters they were never supposed to have any scenes or moments in the actual show. So there wasn't any impact that they made to the show as a whole or to the major characters despite having the potential to do so.
I mean that's something Horikoshi decides to do or not. Nothing really dictates that Nine, Rody or anyone else from the movies can't be part of the main story.
And Star and Stripes isn't technically a movie original character that Horikoshi retconned to be an important character featured in her own arc in the manga as well?
Or heck even Melissa Shield did have a little participation in the final war arc. Her presence is more subtle than SnS but she's implied to made the new gauntlets Deku use during the vigilante arc and later help to build "Iron Might" armor.
So yeah there's no written rule about movie characters not being allowed to be part of the main story, it is all Horikoshi election.
If he wanted he could do something with the others but he didn't, or he couldn't find a way to properly introduce them outside of cameos.
And what a waste honestly, there's so much potential in the original characters from the movies.
Shinso also got the waist reduction lol
And the most obvious example of this trend is Dabi
His body is totally different in the anime than what it is in the manga.
I find funny how the anime constantly makes Shigaraki look like Lou Ferrigno in terms of muscles, in some cases his head looks like it doesn't belong to his own body:
But then you have Horikoshi drawing him like this...
Like sure, the muscles are still there but he's not this giant hulk with biceps the size of his head.
Even the manga in the first war arc doesn't have him looked like the anime does:
And I remember even the wiki copes with the idea that the surgery was supposed to give him extra muscles, but that was never stated officially and in any case his natural muscles came from the training in MVA.
Idk what's this obssesion the anime has for making all male characters buff as hell, even Dabi when canonically he's also a pipsqueak.
This is such a fun scene when you think about the context, cause is supposed to be from Chrono's perspective.
Chrono really think he can fool us and make us think Chisaki, a person with severe misophonia, would voluntarily enter in a cage fight shirtless AND without gloves?
Especially considering we have another flashback of the same or a similar situation from Rappa's perspective and we clearly see Chisaki doesn't take off his clothes for "fight".
Is Chrono so thirsty for Kai that he unconsciously imagines him shirtless?
Well I can't blame you at all Hari... I do the same thing all the time.
Thank you! Glad you liked my h.c and thanks again for add your own!
You know? This made me realize that unlike almost all the members of the MLA, Geten doesn't use any kind of support item despite all them do it because Re-Destro owns a tech company.
I wonder if Geten has some kind of distaste for support items, a mindset of "a true warrior doesn't need cheap toys for fight". Kinda crazy but hey, it's implied Geten is sort of a freak even among the MLA because of how much he's totally devoted to the cause, and he canonically is very prideful about his quirk.
Mikeellee and me play a lot with the idea of Geten being sort of an empty person who doesn't live for anything that isn't fight for Destro cause. A perfect child soldier, and he clash a lot with Cider (his bro in my AU) for this reason.
...
Yeah Dabi obviously join the league because obviously he was at the very bottom at that point and for put his plans in action he needed a good start point, and considering Giran is good at selling promises he surely was convinced.
His whole Stain fanboy persona was pretty much a performance, I've talked about that other times. An easy way to fit into a group that at the time was supposed to have Stain in it, but when Dabi discovered it wasn't the case he dropped the act almost instantly.
...
That idea of Re-Destro wanting to get control of the MLA again could've reedemed his character a bit, but to bad it didn't go anywhere.
But hey you make me think a new scenario in which Nine starts getting a lot of traction after Shingaraki became the new leader of the MLA, so when Nine builds a big reputation people like Geten and especially Re-Destro left the PLF and start follow Nine who in their eyes is the true incarnation of the original Destro dreams.
Which Nine is in fact. Seriously if Re-Destro "liked" Shigaraki, then Nine would be his wet dream.
...
Nine is hauntingly beautiful, his eyes are just mesmerizing.
And in that scenario where Nine is Geten father, how old he is?
Cause for me Nine is at much early 20s.
How cinder enters the world of crime? I know this feels a simplistic question but it also can adds layers to world building. Like, say he was kicked out of the Himura household at 15...what he would do? Join a crime organization right away?
Assuming someone took him in. Did he wanted do crimes or was his only option?
I ask this bc...many Himuras we see are either in shitty situations or in crimes. Rei did endure a crime against her. Geten is an attack dog and Mizumi is the leader of a gang(benevolent as they all may be...it's still a gang)
And my final question (s)
How Cinder reacts to possum? See, possum wants destruction for the sake of destruction and anyone sane would say "fuck you" to that. Even if Cinder was a malicious and evil person...there was nothing to gain with Shig. (I HC many capable villains scoff and turn down working with LoV even if they are fans of Stain. Dabi is the best one and to this day I don't get why he joins LoV.)
Would Cinder and Nine be on good terms or enemies?
I mean, when you're kicked out of your house to survive in the streets isn't like you get many options.
My guess is that Mizunami started from the bottom working for some low tier gang before leave and form his own group, aka the Cider House gang.
For the moment I can't give a more fleshed out answer to that specific question, but considering Mizunami aptitude after the prison break we can assume he at least enjoys being free comit crimes as robbery as much he wants, despite having a more noble side by avoid harm civilians. Perhaps he got the habit with the years, don't know really.
...
No villain with an IQ of more than 2 digits would find Shigaraki a worthy option to work with, and we know Cider is way to smart for that.
If you think about it, not even the MLA soldiers actually liked Shigaraki as their new leader. They were pretty much against it but stayed loyal only because Re-Destro (a bigger idiot) suddlenly became Shigaraki number 1 bootlicker.
Why Dabi joined lov? Because Horikoshi wanted his dumb villain group but didn’t even bother to write a believable reason for that.
...
I would say Mizunami and Nine would be in neutral terms all things considered.
Cider would find Nine to be way more dangerous than Shigaraki, because unlike crusty boy Nine is man with strong convictions and capable to do way more damage. And also his ideology remind Mizunami to his brother Geten, which isn't q good signal.
But from Nine side I don't think he would mind Cider that much. As unlike Re-Destro who has a similar mindset and will kill you for not join his cause, Nine doesn't seem to mind of people following him or no, after all his ideal world is one in which the strongest rule but he doesn't harm the weaks just because he can (as he didn't kill the heroes he stealed quirks or Katsuma dad for example).h
It's the birthday of my other all time beloved baby 💜
Happy birthday Kai my dear, you deserve the world ✨️💜
Can you develop a boxing AU between Izuku and Yo Shindou? Like Yo Shindou tries to concentrate on the fight, but gets distracted by Izuku's muscular body and Izuku's determined smile. (Please answer my question)
Oh this is sure an interesting scenario, but unfortunately I don't know anything about boxing beyond the most basic concepts so I don't think I can do justice to the idea.
But let me tell you: I love YoDeku/ShinDeku or YoIzu, whatever name you prefer for the ship. Yo and Izuku would have a lot of chemistry together I and love seeing healthy interpreations of them.
For this AU in particular (or just in general) I imagine Shindo being a bit surprised by the contrast or Midoriya "cute" and soft face that isn't very common on the boxing world, compared to his well trained body.
And Midoriya wouldn’t ignore Yo's muscles either, let me tell you.
