Do better.
Here’s the truth: every right and freedom you have today exists because people before you got involved in politics and fought for them.
They went up against unfair systems that didn’t, and still don’t, want us to have rights.
Rights are fought for, not given.
When you say, “I’m not political,” you’re showing you don’t understand where your freedoms come from.
You’re also showing that you're fine enjoying the benefits of activism without helping out.
It is time to step up.
Let’s do better together. <3
I tried explaining to my grandma what private health insurance is and how it fucks everyone over and she thought I was joking...She still doesn't believe me.
Honestly my favorite part of this UHC shooter debacle is seeing people from Europe who have universal basic healthcare being really really fucking confused about everything and having to explain what private health insurance is and then seeing them become mortified.
I gotta let this out
So, I started watching Switched at birth recently, and I LOVED Bammett from the very beginning! I think they look kinda cute together, but...
I'm currently on episode 20 and, after all I saw, I don't think I like this so loved by the fandom ship.
I mean, he kissed Daphne, he got mad at Bay because she loved Ty when they were together (???), then he asked her to show him her private emails with Ty, then the jealousy when he found out Ty knew about her street art, also when he blame her for loosing his motorcycle (she never asked him to paint the billboard, he did it himself), the whole custody situation (which, I gotta say I'm on Bay's side, idc) and now he's sleeping with another girl after he had a fight with Bay about her caring about his safety :)
A lot of red flags in here... And no, I don't know if he changes by the end of the series, but right now I'm pissed because Bay deserves so much more :(
Y'all can just ignore this tho HAJSHS
He was a man written by a woman, unfortunately the woman was Sarah j Maas
The Israeli government yesterday approved a proposal to intensify attacks on Gaza. The military has called up additional reservists.
On Friday morning, the Conscience aid ship was bombed in international waters off the coast of Malta. A fire broke out on board, forcing the crew to issue a distress call.
The attack was reportedly carried out by drones. Israel, which has previously targeted similar vessels, remains silent.
At least 30 Palestinians were killed just yesterday.
In Khan Younis, one family lost eleven members, and another lost four. A baby died in a tent. At Rantisi Hospital in western Gaza, a baby girl, Janan Saleh al-Sakafi, died of hunger and dehydration. She was only a few months old.
Since the start of Israel's total blockade in March, no humanitarian aid has entered the enclave. At least 51 people have died solely from malnutrition.
UNICEF warns that 335,000 children are on the brink of death. Children search for food in the garbage. Yesterday marked the 60th day since the last grain of rice entered Gaza.
Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, wrote on X:
"[They are] scrambling for food as if they were gasping for air, grabbing it from filthy grounds, getting hurt while seeking a hole in the human flesh, amassing for a handful of emptiness? People of Gaza. Palestinians. Your hunger is our shame."
Why is Tamsand just Lesmand but written by SJM
rereading the scene of Rhys tormenting Tamlin in ACOFAS is just like…wow…i wish y’all would BANG IT OUT ALREADY ‼️‼️‼️
“I have EVERYTHING and I’m so HAPPY and so ABOVE YOU but I’m gonna come torment you anyway, just because I feel like it and NOT because I’ve secretly been attracted to you for the past four centuries…🙄”
yeah…i bet they’re not the only thing aching to be near his throat 😏

I just know Rhys was punchin the fuck out of the air on the way home he wanted to wrestle with that man badddddd
feeling a “hollowness” in the stomach over seeing someone in despair is just the other end of the spectrum for “something glowed in his chest” I’M SORRY I DONT MAKE THE RULES!!!
It is very telling that they decided to end the show with "I am the dirt under your nails".
vi got colonised tbh. it gives me that feeling when a rich white old man gets with a young SEA lady, brings her to britain and she only gets to see her family through facetime, and that's also the only time she speaks her native language because her man refuses to learn it
cait basically erased vi's identity as a zaunite. she loved vi in spite of that, instead of as a part of her. like how she told vi that she's not like the other zaunites, and saying 'i thought you were one of us' fully expecting her to step away from her people.
vi's been assimilated into piltover, even going against her own ideals by becoming part of the people (enforcers) who killed her parents, who were responsible for executing the systematic oppression of zaun. yet caitlyn's never assimilated into zaun, never even stepping foot into zaun beyond the first caitvi meeting and later when she was gassing the citizens. the show ended with vi living with caitlyn in the top 1% of piltover; no mutual exchange of culture. caitlyn never had to change her mind about zaun the way vi changed her mind about piltover, and remained oblivious to her own privilege and her family's legacy on zaun.
it's just that the sacrifices vi has made for cait, on her identity and on a moral level, has been completely one-sided. this, the imbalanced power dynamic and caitlyn's subtle prejudice against zaun (*) have never been acknowledged in the show. so for them to get back together and have their happy ending without some sort of introspective reflection feels. very uncomfortable. feels like cognitive dissonance.
(*) i say subtle because other than the warcrimes moment, cait often voices her opposition to extreme measures against zaun. however, she supports 'no extreme measures' and 'they are people too' as normative ideas, not really having the ability to recognise the violation of these ideas when it's in front of her and especially not when she's the one violating them. there's constantly an undercurrent of subconscious prejudice in her attitude towards zaunites, and just, a real lack of understanding
Why did writers decide that simp characters are out and cold Duke of the North ones are in? Don’t get me wrong some aloof male leads are really good but most of the time their whole personality is their successful carriers and deep trauma that made them cold as stones. Simps are much more entertaining to watch/read about in my opinion.
The world needs more characters like Basil Hallward and Armand, but right now, only kdramas (to my knowledge; if you have recommendations, please share) are giving us the much-needed simps, which is tragic.
The baby girl without a chance A victim of the circumstance The one who ought to give up But she's just too hard-headed A single mom who works two jobs Who loves her kids and never stops With gentle hands and a heart of a fighter I'm a survivor
students (mainly slytherins) who come from dysfunctional families and see severus as a father figure so they send him letters/drawings on father's day and he can barely hold back his tears in the staff room
Probably a reach but there’s this whole ‘Wow look how in sync we are let’s be BFF! She’s so pretty & perfect…whoa I think I’m falling for her’ vibes from Simone and Daphne. I need it to become canon.
The way the fanfiction version of Vi made its way into the show like this is girl more devastated over her relationship with Caitlyn, but not the loss of her sister? Her baby sister who she held in her arms after she was born? The one she spent every waking moment in jail thinking about for SEVEN years, but doesn’t even feel conflicted about killing her?
Vi doesn’t even say anything about her sister’s mental state. She literally calls her a psycho????
Why is she okay with strangling her sister???? Why did they write that in?????
Vi has more empathy for Piltover and Caitlyn's mother than she does for her own people. Being an enforcer is such a non issue for her. No real self reflection on her past. No grieving for the loss of her family.
Vi’s writing takes hit after hit (literally). Her entire character is downgraded and reduced to centering Caitlyn.
Vi/Jinx/Caitlyn conflict completely flopped and pushed to the side.
I love Caitvi, but I’ve been really struggling to come to terms with Vi’s writing. Reading fanfiction and seeing how Vi is constantly mischaracterized only to see it makes its way into canon version of the show is really disappointing.
I feel like Amanda’s bias for Caitvi came through.
