Percy Jackson episode 3 + text posts
I was watching ep. 3 of pjo with my best friend who’s never read the books and she said “percy’s so smart and sneaky.” and yessss!! he IS. and he gets played off as this lucky and clueless guy at worst and naturally talented and powerful fighter at best. but ultimately, he’s won most of his battles by outsmarting his opponent. he’s an incredible strategist and he doesn’t get enough credit for it.
percy is very cunning at heart and that’s a compliment. he could’ve been an antagonist if he chose to be but he didn’t bc he cares about people. if his loved ones and the state of world weren’t at risk of being collateral damage in the war, I think percy might’ve joined kronos’ side. it’s not his loyalty for the gods that makes him a hero, it’s his loyalty to humanity
My “draw the squad” memes so far
I’ve been patiently waiting for a nice second-hand wood dresser to appear on fb marketplace or at Goodwill for months. Finally, I grabbed this one yesterday for $50.
My inspiration for this project are some dressers I saw at Anthropology that have gorgeous carved details. But I want my dresser to cost $200 or less rather than $2,000.
Of course I can’t add actual hand-carved wood, but I’ve got clay and some silicon molds + epoxy and a potential overconfidence in my DIY abilities.
First up, I removed the existing hardware and sanded this pretty lady down. She is now looking MUCH better without all those terrible stains (and the drawer pulls weren’t doing it for her, tbh).
Up next, I’ll give her a paint wash or three and start trying my hand at faking some carvings!
can someone recommend some beginner normal behaviors for someone looking to become normal

what a legend
Not to get emo on main but you ever think about how the troop sang about their dreams of finding “a girl worth fighting for”, and they think their girl worth fighting for is one of romance, but the song abruptly comes to a halt when they find a different girl worth fighting for.
A tiny girl that had been killed at the hands of the Huns. A child too weak, too small to have any chance of withstanding the murderous invaders. That is their girl worth fighting for.
Percy: my dad's such a dick such a deadbeat I hate him
Poseidon: can you tell my kid I love him and I'm very sorry and also save his life
Poseidon: but don't tell him he can breathe underwater except very cryptically
Poseidon: yell at him to breathe a few times
Poseidon: that ought to work
"it doesn't matter. I have books, new books, and I can bear anything as long as there are books."
