So today I was listening to Wie wird man seinen Schatten los? and decided to really pay attention to the lyrics this time and I gotta say, as a former gifted kid whose life has been one burnout and identity crisis after the other for the past few years, I could strongly relate to the message of the song.
Dropping more Rue sketches here cause she's the only thing helping me fight the literal DEMONS that are depression, artblock, and burn artπ
Escapism from Steven Universe is very Rue coded especially during s2 love HER.
Lore dump incoming:
She's a 17 y/o runaway orphan looking for answers abt her parents and the strange dreams she's been having since she was 5.
She stumbles upon an injured and passed out Arthur Lester and takes him to a hospital near by in a small town they were passing through and has been visiting him during his coma(she claims it's to make sure he isn't a serial killer).
From there she ends up tagging along.
Turns out her parents were part of a cult that worshipped the King in Yellow and Rue was gifted with "special dreams" which allow her to see the supernatural as well as the Dreamlands and in rare cases, the future/past.
Ngl the idea for her was just "What if Arthur was forced to confront his parental guilt in a deeper lively by giving him a child/teen companion with him?" And the outcome was...well....
It's complicated(and don't get me started on them in s4 yeeesh)...
Tldr; theyre Ellie and Joel coded π
Not expecting much interaction with this one this is purely self indulgent. I'm cringe but free!
If Neil & Todd weren't in love then why'd they act like that
