Can someone explain to me (genuinely) why thereās so little redesigns offered of the Green Goblin in the spider-verse fanbase or even differing variations of his design offered within the comics? The very few film media adaptations of his character (at least the ones that did their best in adapting him as a character in general) do seem to have tried to offer a new look for him, but obviously that number is very limited and still doesnāt explain why in the comics themselves or in the fandom there seems to be little attempts made to give him other looks.
This isnāt meant to be critical of his main design, Iām just not of the opinion that itās particularly ātimelessā as Iāve seen a couple redditors put it or the absolute best that can be done. Even if itās not a bad design, I donāt understand why itās like one of the only designs heās given and why any alternative that is given to him hardly strays much at all from that main design.
Ya gotta believe getting Thanged by That Thang feels a little good, right?
ānormanā or should we say, goblin, proceeds to say: ānorman is a wuss. youāre right otto, he woudnāt do that. but *I* would.

I think my love for Raimiverse Harry Osborn stems from the fact that all the core elements of his character are kept intact. James Franco may be conventionally attractive, but Harry isn't a cool eccentric extrovert. He is shy, soft-spoken, sensitive, and dealing with emotional abuse and neglect from his father while also being clearly neurodivergent and VERY queer coded. The identity issues that stem from years of neglect, feelings of worthlessness, and mental issues he has aren't played as a joke nor demonized. I think it's the best live-action portrayal we've gotten so far.
