NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE… Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can perhaps buy precious time to get themselves to a phone and dial 911. For the past month or so I’ve been drawing these little Gravity Falls vignettes based upon memories of vacations my brother and I spent at my grandparents’ summer cottage in Nova Scotia. Click through for captions explaining my strange childhood. I did something similar previously here.

Come to think of it, most of the times Stan shows up in these he’s standing in for a memory of my grandmother, probably because she has a rather larger-than-life personality. It’s a shame I didn’t realize sooner, though, because in his own subtle, quiet way, my grandfather is the biggest troll in the world. Ah well, I’m too tired of working on these for now, maybe I’ll do another set later on.

I like to picture Undyne’s spears like glass: they hurt when they come in contact, yet they break easily when countered. This sort of makes visualizing Undyne’s fight easier for me, with the shield mechanic and all. After all, her spears are made of magic.

I’m also really glad that the finale of Gravity Falls didn’t hook anybody up. Gideon didn’t have some final extra moment with Mabel implying anything might go anywhere now that he’s learned and the secret letter Wendy gives to Dipper just turns out to be from everyone, collectively. That so goddamn sweet. The closest thing was just the episode confirming what was already obvious to everybody and I’m glad Disney allowed them to come out and say it, especially after the network made them nix an explicit portrayal of gay characters once before.

Did anyone else realize how important hats were?

Every important character we see from the beginning of the show wears something on their head

Soos: baseball hat - symbolizes Soos going from handy man(child) to Mister Mystery and taking over the shack and his journey to get there 

Dipper: baseball hat with pine tree - eventually traded with Wendy to symbolize that he will always hold a special place in Wendy’s heart; hides the birthmark that originated his nickname and made him “special;” symbol used on the cipher wheel

Stan: fez - eventually given to Soos to symbolize giving over the Mystery Shack; symbolized his conman background and family; symbol used on the cipher wheel

Mabel: headband - constant throughout the show, but will always match with the original shooting star sweater that she wore and is her symbol on the cipher wheel

Wendy: lumberjack hat - symbolizes her family background; eventually traded with Dipper so that he’ll never forget Gravity Falls; plays more into the “Dipper is Alex Hirsch as a kid” because Alex commonly wears that type of hat as an adult

Bill: top hat - symbolizes that he’s an overdressed asshole
